    It's a copy of these...

Then last picture is a cheaper version sold at Walmart lol

Added, rephrase that, not a copy, that would imply it was made similar or the same, and that could not be further from the truth.

My first attempt with a clone was with one of these (the last picture).

Don't waste your time bro. I received the plant as it was flipped and I had my plant flower for about 9 weeks or so under what was said to be a 300watt full spectrum LED and I ended up with 10g of airy bud.

@growopz is the way to go.

    Knock knock

    Hey bro,

Sorry, I've been away and things have been a bit hectic on my side. Here are some pics taken today...

Second pic is the Gelato Samba Auto. I gave her, her first feed of seagrow on Sunday and started her training and she had some nice growth in the last 2 days

Recommendation for soil when growing autoflowers in future. Use more fluffy soil less dense (airy) and nutrient dense. They dont need allot to become big plants. My suggestion os to either use freedom farms soil. Or

    1/4 coco

    1/4 perlite

    1/4 wormcastings

    1/4 enormous buds soil

Anyway use it dont use it. Just a suggestion. I was always put off by auto flowers because I did not understand that less is more. Also the bigger your pots the bigger your plants.

    Thanks for this bro.

I'll give it a try with my next run. I haven't gotten much height but they are growing quite bushy and so far I'm happy

@StickyD420 @Ill_Evan @Ill_Evan @TheUltimateNoob Good evening gents, need to just ask an question. With this girl being an Auto flower, i was told one should rather not use topping as an training method but rather use LST or Scrog. What is your recommendation around this, and the second question when is the best time to start LST your plant. My girl is 4x weeks on Friday so just want to be prepared once again.

    Hey bro,

I think at 4 weeks old they should be ready for some LST. I started mine at around 3 weeks or after the second set of true leaves appear and the stem seems strong enough to handle the bend. I haven't gotten to the scrog yet. I think my LST went fairly well for my first time. The tops aren't completely evened out but got some nice bud sites that have formed.

Bear in mind that I'm not an experienced grower and just sharing my experience thus far

    Week 9.

Week 11 will be the present.

Okay, everything still looking good but it's like watching paint dry. The plants are finally saying hoesit, I'm a male, get me out of here. At this stage the rabbits each get a plant to munch on and I get more space in the cabinet. By week 11 I have 8 plants from 15 that are female. I'm happy and my wife is harassing me to start the next grow.

Welcome back load shedding. Never thought I'd use my 2000kv riot control tazer to grow ganja, man but does it have a powerful light.

Whoa, stop the train. I've picked my light up from @growopz. Out come the cfl's and in go the led. Can I go play with the big boys ma?

This light is a winner, bro.

  6. @afternoon blazer Hey bro,

Here are some pics of her.

I have a fourth photo active plant in the tent as well but I'll be removing her. Way too much for my 75watt light. I was only going to do 2 autos but the second seed wasn't germinating then I did another (a third) and 2 days later, both seeds had a little tap root poking out so I planted them both and added that with the Sour Diesel Auto that started about 3 weeks before the others.

The Gelato Samba is the younger one on the right. Cocopopo to the left

That thing is a bit wonky. I have it set in degrees Celsius but it still gives me these crazy readings. One minute I've got 99% humidity, the next it drops to 10% then jumps back up to 90% and the temperature does the same.

I'm going to give this method of feeding/watering a try and will defs lower the concentration of nutes to water

    @Tee_Aitch_See

Please remind me what nutrients you use again, in case I have seen it or you have written it somewhere before and cant recall?

You say living soil, so will assume you have Biobizz or similar, and not synthetic nutrients?

With soils, living or alive with Microbes, you ideally want to water just enough and have no runoff what so ever,

With neutral mediums, and synthetic nutrients, you want to flush the old / stale salts in that medium out with the new feed and therefore replace instead of add to the mix.

You can also if using organic or living soils, do a very cheap and easy, and extremely well working Perlite layer on top of your soil, and you'll have no gnats, or will you have the fan nor wind, drying your soil prematurely on the surface making you believe it's time to water and thus causing chance of over watering.

@StickyD420 I'm using enormous bud living soil. And you are correct in assuming that I'm using biobizz nutes. I have the grow and bloom. Most recently used the bloom to feed. Just as per the directions on the bottle.

I generally water or feed very slowly. Just a few 100ml at a time and I wait until it kinda works it's way though the soil and when I see some moisture escaping out the bottom, I stop.

I'll then start checking the soil after about 3 days for when it needs again. Just by carefully pushing a finger into the soil until the 2nd knuckle.

So far I haven't had issues with these autos and hoping that it stays that way.

Thanks for the tips and advice, bro. I'm keen to learn more

Not sure it's such a good idea letting your plant sit in runoff for so long.

You reckon it should be tossed out sooner? I'm still very new to growing and welcome any advice, bro.

This was something that I've read somewhere. Not to leave the runoff for too long but also to allow the soil to reabsorb some of it.

    Howzit bro.

Just a heads up. Dont think u should be re-using the run off water. As this may un balance your salts and ph.

As the run off is never consistent of nutez.

It probably contains old salts and nutez and new salts and nutez.

Thanks bro, but I don't feed this water back to the plants. If the soil hasn't absorbed it a day after I've watered, I pour it down the drain.

  11. I've had a gnat issue with my previous grow attempt (bag seeds). I think that I left my living soil out for too long and these things got in there and laid their eggs.

I used some organic fungicide but it didn't seem to help much. I eventually just sprayed the fungicide every other week and kept a few sticky strips up to catch the f@#ckers. it took me a few weeks to get rid of them. I still had the odd 2 or 3 floating around but I wasn't too phased about them.

So far, I am about 7 weeks into my new grow and I was careful not to leave the soil out for more that a day and after I used it, I was sure to seal the bag properly. Then, I make sure that the day after a feed or water, I empty whatever water in the drip trays haven't been absorbed back into the soil. So far so good.

Hey there @Tee_Aitch_See, you all good?

I was wondering if you found the sweet spot for the light. I'm not sure on what heights to work on.

If you raise the light does that equal more coverage for more plants.

Are there different heights for veg and flower.

And lastly, what size pots you got there.

I could trial and error but my plants are a week or so into 12/12 and I don't want to cause kak. Would appreciate any info you have learnt using the light.

I had mine at 55cm in seedling and veg and I've since lowered it to 40cm a week ago. They seem to be happy with the light at that height. No stretching at 55cm and no burn at 40cm. I read somewhere on the growopz website that it could be as close at 20cm from the canopy.

  13. Just a little update on the Autoflower grow

Day 35 for the Sour Diesel Auto - Most recent feed was 16/07/2020. Biobizz bloom and molasses.

Day 14 for the Gelato Samba Auto and Cocopopo Auto. - Received tap water on the same day. First feed will be in a week. Just planning to give them some seagrow for their first feed.

Next feed is scheduled for 20/07/2020

It's a good choice you went with auto's bro 👌

    Yeah. Disaster averted. I hope.

But I found some UPS on takealot not priced too badly. Thinking of adding one of those boykies to my setup.

Nice, you might be surprised at the end of the grow.
What distance are your plants from the light, I have found that between 30-40cm works best for me when they past seedling stage

Sent from my F5321 using Tapatalk

I've got mine at 40cm. So far though, I'm really happy with this light.

I had a blue dream clone going under a "300watt" no name blurple and I only yielded under 10g. Found some of the diodes weren't working either. Also, I wasn't too clued up on feeds and watering at the time.

Keen to see what my harvest will be like this time around.

I'd love to @GGG. Unfortunately I've used up my Tapatalk photo upload limit for the month. I've gone into the growopz website and what I've got is the QB75.

    Pics will follow when possible.

    Same as mine?

    I've got the QB75 from @growopzIMG-20200714-WA0023.thumb.jpeg.1c3980c5873147f5779788402f4f70d1.jpeg

I've got 3 autos under there.

1 of them is 3 weeks older than the other 2. Not sure if that's too much. But I intend on getting another board and adding it to the setup.

    This f@#!king load shedding though!!!

    Thanks bro.

Having some issues with my 1 seed i germinated.

Gona give it another day or so. Then maybe germ another 1 or 2 seeds.

Going slow. Coz i only bought 5 seeds to start with and dont wana mess it up.

    But getting abit impatient now.

    🙄

I've only had success germinating this way. Try a bit of root hormone if you're using paper towel method. I find my taproot starts a day earlier than it generally would.

But some beans are just more stubborn than others.

I've found that, in this grow game...patience is key.

    • Thanks 1
  18. I generally leave my seed in luke warm water until it sinks (usually takes a day or two)

Then I place between 2 damp cotton pads (with a touch of root hormone) and place that into a ziplock bag. I then place the bag into a dark cupboard for a day or two. Usually by the second day I'll have enough tap root grown for me to plant.

So I took roughly 3 to 4 days to germ these seeds.

Sour Diesel Auto got planted 13/06/2020 - But for the first two weeks, it grew under my old blurple so didn't get much growth until I swapped it out for the QB.

Both Gelato Samba and Copopopo Autos were planted on 4-06-2020

Ignore the Temp reading. The thermometer is an absolute fail.

  19. 20200710_163239.thumb.jpg.82bebc78a82f71072887a4e79efbc919.jpgFinally confident in my setup to post an update here.

After advice from @Prom, I reached out to Growopz. Unfortunately, there was only a 75watt QB available at the time but I thought it was worth a try. Just doing a run of 3 autos then I'll most likely add a second QB to the setup.

    Setup:

    • 80cmx80cmx160cm grow tent (purchased from takealot)
    • 75watt QB
    • oscillating desk fan
    • 6" 20watt bathroom extractor (bright star lighting)
    • Thermometer and Hygrometer

    Seeds (biltongandbudz):

    • Sour Diesel (Bulk Seed Bank)
    • Gelato Samba (Bulk Seed Bank)
    • Cocopopo (Bulk Seed Bank)

    Nutes:

    • Biobiz - Biogrow
    • Biobizz - Biobloom
    • Molasses
