  1. Welcome bud , good to have you around again. Cheers Reaf
  2. Same hien from weed.co.za ?
  3. How many amps does a 600w digital ballast pull? Watts divided by volts? Or does that not apply? In an ideal world if the power factor of the ballasts was 1.0 yes you could use the watts/ volts calculation but nothing runs at a true 1.0 PF as electronics will always have some loss. Magnetic ballasts have a power factor of about 0.6 which means you need more amps to get to the 400w because it's looses 40% of it's power to heat ect. That's why digital ballasts cost less to run as they have a power factor on 0.96 so only looses a small amount in the exchange. On a simple test I did my 400w digital pulled 1.9amps while my magnetic 400w pulled 4.1amps All digital ballasts will have a PF factor printed on the side and some will have amp draw as well .
  4. Looking good bud but all that plugged into one 15amp outlet makes me worry a bit lol have you tested the how many amps you are drawing? If those are magnetic ballasts you are at about 19 amps roughly.... if they digital ballasts you should be fine
  5. The gavita 6/750w DE flex runs at 2.2 umol per Watt, they really are amazing lights for 750w
  6. Hi bud I don't really like taking about what wattage i have because there's a huge difference between a 250w cfl and a 250w hid , both will grow a plant but the hid will be way better. The cold hard facts hear are is that a 20w led spotlight has no place in flower... sorry but the yield of that will be very poor and your bud will be light and fluffy . I am not guessing here it's science, that small led just simply does not put out enough energy to feul your plant properly in flower. I really don't mean to be a dick and rain on your parade but if you flower with that light you will be disappointed , there have been many people before you trying the same thing . When it comes to veg as I said you don't need nearly as much light, flower is where it counts . My flower room us 3 x the wattage of my veg room. Why not look at getting a 105w cfl or similar for flower ? At least then you looking at a 50g yield and not 10g Just my 2 cents Ps your plant is 1m tall? If so a 1m plant in veg belongs under a 1000w hps in flower to get complete penetration
  7. Hi bud This is your first grow so a good estimate for now is you can take your total wattage and multiply it by 0.5 and you will get a rough estimate of what you will yield . To give you some comparison my flower canopy is at 90000 Lux. Light intensity is critical in flower , in veg you can get away with a lot less Cheers
  8. Will probably work but you have to ask yourself... are you prepared to risk your house for a bulb? Running unmatched equipment is a fire hazard , it's not like our power is the most stable in the world . Yes I know I am probably way off and being way to cautious but take it from someone's that's had there house burn to the ground.... It's not fun
  9. If you in the eastern cape area try these guys , it's R700 a bakkie load and the EM is amazing. They do it by the bag as well www.wormganic.weebly.com
  10. So happy they doing so much better bud. To much love can be a bad thing , sometimes they need to be left to do there own thing . Looks like it may be flowering , what strain ?
  11. Glad it's working out for you bud , the canopy is forming again nicely . Might just be the pics but that lady looks hungry , there's a lot of new growth going on with nothing but the roots to power the growth as you have taken off all it's stores lol you may need to tweek the feed for it . Would really be interested in seeing a control test but good job bud will keep an eye on this
  12. I just watched that video and this is my personal view on it . 2 key things stood out at me , in one sentence he says "I don't care if they stunted as they big enough already" and in another he says " I leaf strip so that they all drink at the same rate and They all can be watered at the same time" To me this sounds like he is basicly stopping all vertical growth and resetting all the plants to the same drinking level. He has a point to the drinking as it's a pain when you have a lot of plants on different drinking cycles and his plants are way to big for the style he is growing since he us actually only using a 3rd at most of the plant for flowers . Personally I would never in a million years do this to my plants , I am all for defoliation but not to that extreme. I have stunted plants by removing to many leaves to soon . I the end your plant will recover and look healthy I am sure , cannabis is a tough plant, but with no side my side comparison done with clones from the same mom in the same area you will never know if it works or not. In the end of the day home growers can take a lot from the pros who grow hundreds of plants at a time but he has a specific reason why he does it and that is to stop vertical growth ( basicly ending stretch at day 14 , a week early ) and to even out there drinking patern.i would be interested to find out what your reason behind doing it was ? Anyway brainfart over , just my 2 cents and I really do hope it works out well for you Ps I an a fan of defoliation at day 1 and 21 , this isn't from a video either it's from testing and seeing what works for me
  13. I am stunned lol that plant may grow a few pairs of nuts after that . Would have been better to do it at day 21 as well , it's still stretching at day 14
  14. Get your water ph tested at a pool shop while you are in town as well. Or ask growguru to test it for you
  15. It's a root issue and has nothing to do with RH. Have you had your rain water PH tested? Is there a buffer in your medium? But in likelihood totemic is right , it could just be a case of to much water and love lol. Even your tomato plant in the corner isn't very happy I will drop that bag of soil of at growguru tomorrow for you but even with my soil if you don't treat it right will go bad . It should be a lot more forgiving that your current mix though
  16. We were chatting , had a 50l bag waiting for him but I think he came right because it went silent . Think it's still sitting there actually lol
  17. Transparent cups or buckets will hurt the root system as roots do not like light . As for sexing a plant it will show preflowers once it reaches sexual maturity, you can see when it's reached maturity my it alternate noding . This will happen about 4-6 weeks depending on the strain Cheers
  18. The plant will only start exhibiting it's true traits once a its reached sexual maturity .
  19. For ants sprinkle a mix of cinnamon and baking soda around the area , it will keep the ants away
  20. Ants will bring them back , they farm them like we do cows. Make sure You Have no ants around
  21. I can drop off some soil for you there if it's not to much , it's untested though. I made it ages ago for my next run so it should be fine but like I say its currently untested as I was going to put a clone in to test in a few days and see how it's cooked but that will take about a week to fully test it
  22. Time and practice bud , there's not many problems I haven't had before. Are you in the windy city and can you get to growguru ?
  23. Nothing to pinpoint bud , you have ph issues causing lockout . A folior spray would help as the plants can use the nutrients from a folior spray even when it's locked out. 18/6 is much better as it will aid in plant recovery. Your ph issues can either be caused by the water you giving it , overwatering or bad medium . Bad medium and overwatering can be fixed relatively easily but for a beginner to try balance ph in a soil once it's gone bad is really hard. So moving forward you have 2 choices , either buy a ph pen and test ballance the soil out again with aact and a carefull ph controll or I would recommend that you just replant them into known good medium and letting the plants recover on there own as it's a lot easier .
