  1. Week 7 flower and humidity climbs into the 90s during the load shedding. And now eskom are saying they moving to 3 times a day... PM and bud rot definitely on Eskoms side.. or yeah and the nanners...
  2. You should test it with the maximum length of cable you going to use. Then set up another ballast with a short piece of cable to lamp. Then check response times between the 2 when switching off and on when the lamps have reached full temperature. If they both respond the same then you should be fine. It you had a tong tester it would have been good to check how many amps each of the 2 are drawing. If there is a noticeable difference, then it could mean that one is working harder due to the extra cable length.
  3. @nakes My ballasts are about 8m's from the lamps. I've 1000W hps lights. Best to just test it on the floor. And to make sure it's fine in all scenarios wait for the lamp to fully heat up. And then switch it off and on again.
  4. @CleanGreen beautiful healthy roots. Well done.
  5. Kind of childish on my part. Maybe partly lack of thc in the system together with some issues in the garden. Sorry guys.
  6. You should re-read what you said, instead you want to get defensive and have a personal dig at me so let's just leave it out. I apologize to this thread for the arguing and immature behavior.
  7. So it's not advised to be used in coco? By you or biobizz?
  8. None of what I'm saying is based on reading. I'm not an internet troll. I'm a synthetic grower. I do agree if you leave the coco inert then teas are going to do nothing. How do you wake up that coco without adding soil? Amend it... You missing the point here. He wants to grow using organically derived nutrients. Instead of saying what is inert etc, assist with how to go about making coco organic. But I got no time for arguing with you. End of the day there is no real right way or wrong way. If the plant is growing and is healthy something right must be happening...
  9. I hear what you saying and you are correct. I think somehow we all just misunderstanding what he's trying to do. He wants to get away from buying nutrients and still use coco. 1stly I wouldn't use 50/50 perlite. I would setup a worm bin and compost heap at home and use that to feed microbes which will feed the plants. And then make teas etc to provide the extra essentials required at different stages of the grow.
  10. You can definitely treat coco like soil... Everybody keeps hyping about coco being inert... what does that have to do with not treating coco like soil? What basic essentials does coco lack? Remember when you preparing a soil mix you have to amend it with things like compost and worm castings to get all the beneficials and microbial life a boost to populate. The same goes with coco, amend it and you now growing organically. Please explain to us, there are guys here that use biobizz products in coco, how do those plants take up those nutrients when they not readily available like salts?
  11. Sativa leaning hybrids most of the time... Pure indicas or heavy leaning indicas late at night... But in saying this... I will smoke whatever situation dependant... Just the other day I met up with a mate and he had some normal outdoor (aka bushweed). Hes like bru I know you don't smoke this... and I was like... 'make it...
  12. I have to agree. Would prefer spending the day with my girls...oh and my wife too...
  13. It would definitely help your medium provided you treating it like soil the whole grow and not pouring salts into the medium. That would work against what you are doing with the teas. Just a question, what's the purpose of the perlite in your grow style.
  14. I really admire your love for your plants. It's all trial and error. All your efforts eventually does pay off. I have to say though I would brew it longer like @PsyCLown asked. Give all those beautiful ingredients a chance to get all that beneficials to populate. Once you see that creamy foam on top... it's like when you got that very 1st cheese burger and double thick milkshake at whimpy...
  15. Maybe a 3 pack is just not enough to be lucky... But we will keeping trying
  16. Up to right now, I've found 6 hermaphrodites in my garden. 2 out of 6 were from GHSC namely the church and francos lemon cheese. When I grew the church,(btw I didn't like the name of the strain so I just called it super northern lights because of its lineage) seeds were very hard to come by. It was a freebie seed and ended up seeding my whole garden. I didn't know which plant had seeded the garden and when I ran all the strains again. That's when I found this plant growing balls not nanners from inside the lower calyx's. Culled it and had an almost seedless run. This strain almost made me give up growing and I still hold some resentment towards it. The FLC was a 3 pack that I purchased because of the strain hunters videos, it was a strain dedicated to the late Franco. Unfortunately of the 3 pack 1 hermied and the other 2 were just okay. I ran some unknown freebies from nirvana that same round and found better plants from that batch. Maybe I've just been unlucky with their gear but I'm not going to buy their stuff again...even their nutrient line I feel is daylight robbery. You have to use so much of it in every feeding that 1set doesn't last a full run. I only use their their calcium as a foliar in emergencies. Anyway it looks like I opened a can of worms. Each for their own. I'm pretty sure we all have run stuff that's disappointed us. The only way to find who's stuff works for you is to try it. I'm all about trying and I've just currently started a new grow with 3 strains from barneys farm. I will start a grow diary for it separate from everything else I'm doing. Here's a sneak peak... Seedlings day 7...
  17. @Cheeezy Looks even better... Yeah it's normal for the pistols to start dying back. It's getting closer to the end. You can do some selective defoliation on the bottom of those tall colas. Only leaves that are blocking buds. It will help harden things up so you have less larfies. If you able to drop night time temps do it, you will be rewarded with some beautiful colour changes. All in all well done, not much can go wrong now. Just keep an eye out for pm.
  18. @Cheeezy Firstly I would like to say that your plants look very nice... Judging by the pic, it looks like those plants are still a good few weeks from harvest. You should still be feeding her. Those buds look like they still want to swell & harden up. Don't rush it. This is the part of the grow where you gain that weight. You can use ripen as an additive to your 3 part to boost the P and K. That tip burn looks old and very minor. And don't do any more Defoliation. Looks like you've removed too many of the fan leaves on the buds with stems on them. Do yourself a favour, but yourself a cheap takealot jewellers loupe 60x and check the trichs to know when to start with ripen. Breeders stipulated times are just a guide. Your plant ultimately tells you when she's close to the end.
  19. Give Simon a chance, he's representing us. I would love to meet him and have a chat to him about his cannabis career... He is a strain hunter. Full respect to GHSC and the late Franco(he was the one that had the nose for the terps not so much arjan)... they have done wonders in the breeding world. They were the 1st to do video week by week grow documentation. I've watched every video of there's maybe twice. They the only breeders that provide terp reports on most of their strains but somewhere along the line the breeding stopped and they became seed makers.
  20. Don't get me wrong, I'm also not the guy to talk about top notch genetics from experience... but in saying that I'm lucky enough to have some grower friends in the states that are taking the craft industry to the next level. So in the best interests of my fellow south africans I think it's my duty to share this info. The question still remains what defines top notch genetics... I would think the ability to on most occasions find atleast 2 different keepers in a 10 pack... and not sift through 100 of subcools seeds or 1000 of barneys farm seeds. My Wish List for seed stock Symbiotic genetics Lost leaf Capulator Darkhorse genetics Medigrower Magikmeds Loki(gml death baba cross) Dioxide To name a few...
  21. I think I would be even more interested to hear which breeders you think are top quality? Please share your knowledge with us.
  22. There are quite a few real fire breeders. Unfortunately we cannot buy direct from the seedbanks that carry their gear. Check out empire breeding company and seed bazaar. @Cannabist find out from your supplier if he can order for you from them. They both ship to Europe. It will be worth the wait.
  23. Yeah darkhorse were the original creators of it. I stand to be corrected but I think it was the strongest strain on earth 2015. Gonna grab some next time our bra cannabist has some coupon codes and their strawberry diesel F2. I almost chose it over the dehumidifier but I'm tired of moving my 1 dehumidifier around everyday
  24. Not that good genetics, mediocre, just making do with I could get, had 2 packages from the states seized by customs, it had those exotics... instead now I have no choice but to grow gear from these fools like barneys farm, HSO, etc. No offense to anyone please but it is what it is. I'm very critical generally, so no hiding the short falls. I've started some new seeds... most promising being the 9lb hammer x Electric Watermelon. Almost bought some darkhorse genetics Bruce Banner to add to the programme but had to make a choice between that and a dehumidifier for black Friday... and at 50% off the choice had to go the way off the...
