  1. At what day does your plants kick into flower? I've always experienced it between day 8 - 10. And I grow between 10 - 20 strains at a time. I recommend you start bloom nutes from day 1 flower and not 2 - 3 weeks like suggested by sites like growweedeasy etc. The extra phosphorus is like a signal to the plants to go into flower. Btw I also like the energetic high and I have been harvesting colas of my plants for the last 2 weeks. So maybe cut yourself a few colas and see what they look like after they dry, maybe the pic we seeing is deceiving us and your flowers look different in person.
  2. @CleanGreen I was not being a dick I promise. Telling you what I see. You supposed to take it that there's something wrong somewhere. Maybe it's just the genetics or something but I suggest you look into it for the sake of all the hard work you put in. This is a random pic of my current grow at around day 18-20.
  3. Light leaks was also my first thought, They look like they at day 18. Check your timers etc to make sure they still in their correct flower cycle times Hope you figure this out
  4. Merry Christmas 420 South Africa... Hope you guys and your families have an awesome day filled with love and joy... here's to sharing the FIRE...
  5. So buy yourself a ballast for the 400W and you will have yourself a proper grow light. You have 2 choices: Electronic ballast Magnetic ballast Even though there are some differences both give the same end result. Magnetic ballasts are alot cheaper and quite reliable long term. Electronic ballasts has advantages like being able to dim the light. Quicker at igniting the lamp. Post a pic of what 400W light fittings you have and maybe we can work something out for you.
  6. They are the worst lights to use... only one way for you to know for real if you don't want to take our word for it, is to try it... But still please do yourself a favour and buy the 400W hps offered. Just know that it's not going to cover the 4 x 4 on its own but it is 100times better then what you planning on using. If you do buy the 400W from @CreX I will sponsor you an extra 400W MH lamp and best of all I'm in durbs too
  7. @Breadinator Nice companion plants, I've heard marigolds deter pests. Don't be shy with that Painkiller, clean more of the bottom before she reaches midflower, she will thank you in late flower when shit gets real...
  8. @Yodaspike Dude, don't get me wrong but it looks like you have been researching LEDs and I'm pretty sure you noticed that LEDs are way over your budget. You need to rethink your plan and come up with a total budget that you want to spend growing and come back to us so we can help you cos lighting is only 1 part of the costs of growing
  9. What's your budget? Incandescent lights are not for growing. They can be used when germinating seeds and cloning for the warmth they give off but that's as far as it goes. You have 3 options for flowering, Something close to a 3000K LED or HPS. Option 3: The Sun.
  10. I think you need to provide more information so that the guys that use LEDs can recommend lights they use... Grow room/tent size being the most important factor in light selection. Are you going to veg and flower under the same light? I'm also standing by to find out what are the best bang for bucks LEDs in the market?
  11. @Bospatrollie2 I really like your approach on making a cheap potting soil into a cannabis haven... Boys south of the burg... where only the buds get covered in snow...
  12. @LionKing Hi and welcome. Got anything growing?
  13. True story... I made tons of them in the past... although the material is alot thinner I used them for a few runs with no issues... still have half a roll of the material... anyone battling and need some material... PM me.
  14. The sewing machine I paid 200 bucks from a 2nd hand shop... And I learnt how to sew from YouTube... This diy is for those that cannot afford fabric pots... standby for the next diy... Treating coco like soil and feeding only teas...
  15. So what you see is the bag inside out... Turn the insides out and you now have a square bottom fabric pot with no extra folds on the inside...
  16. Fold the bottom corners into a triangle and sew straight across...
  17. Fold the material in half, inside out and sew the side and bottom with a straight stitch...
  18. Fold a 15mm strip along the 1000mm side and sew it straight across...
  19. Hi Guys, So the wife asked me to sew something for her, seeing as the machine is out I'll take this opportunity to help those interested... I've come across a few diy fabric pots by members. Thought I would show you guys how I use to make them when I used fabric pots. The material I'm using is called Spunbond, it is very cheap compared to the Covertex material used by some manufacturers. To make a 40 litre pot cut a piece of material 1000 x 500...
  20. Empire Breeding Company... They have a website. Go check out there . Ocean Grown genetics i.e. Vader OG gear. That guy has really worked his lines. Will be good gear to work with as most of the hard time consuming work has already been done.
  21. @Dank Thanks for showing some interest. Appreciate it. No problem I will create a new thread for this in the appropriate place as you mentioned. I'm very close to harvest at the moment so what I will do is take some pics of each of my chosen cuts on harvest day so you guys can see why I chose those cuts. And I'll also show the female versions of the chosen males in flower. This way whoever I give testers too can be confident of the lineage and test the seeds to the best of their ability...
  22. 1st bash @ selective breeding... So I have chosen the 1st male that's part of my breeding plan. He's too stinky to ignore or look any further at his brothers. The other male I need I will probably choose in early flower. Male 1: Electric Watermelon x 9lb Hammer Male 2: Pineapple Skunk. The 4 chosen ladies that I want to knock up are: Gorilla Girl Sweet Orange Cookies Sherbs Wedding Cake Amnesia CBD I have taken 2 cuts of each strain so each gentleman has a set of ladies of his own.
  23. You doing well so far. Just keep it cracking on. Humidity only becomes an issue when you in midflower and the plants are transpiring like crazy. I keep my humidity high with higher temps, it aids in quick growth and making conditions poor for pests like spidermites, etc. My flower room runs at 25C 50%RH. Now that I'm close to harvest I've dropped the temps and RH... 23C 45%RH and 20C at Lights OFF, the humidity thou fluctuates at Lights out between 50%-70% RH which is not ideal but nothing I can do till I get a bigger dehumidifier.
  24. Maybe things are different with tents but whenever my lights go out my humidity spikes and I'm running 250mm intake and exhaust fans 24/7. I'm forced to use dehumidifiers during lights out. Maybe me being on the coast is a contributing factor to the humidity. If you can teach me a way to keep humidity down during lights OFF without me using a dehumidifier I will definitely give it a shot as it will save me a lot on electricity.
