  1. I agree with all the responses. That plant is really going to take a while to kick back from that. Something he has done caused this to happen quickly. You can see it was topped recently so which means it was healthy up to then. Either a nutrient feed or a pesticide spray. The next step is to flush out that plant and then just leave it alone. Those cheap takealot tds pens are perfect for this scenario. Measure what you putting in, measure what's coming out and you will know straight away what's the potential problem
  2. They will be fine. As long as they look happy you know you doing something right. Once they grow more foliage they will start boosting. Just remove as much of those wood chips to avoid a whole different set of problems.
  3. Mendo Dope style hey... I love how clean and fresh your plants look. Although they do seem a tad small considering their age. Do you think maybe you either topped them too early or did you top them down to the last node purposely. Not questioning your methods after all we here to share and learn from each other. Like I've personally found if I want large plants I top a little later when they taller and then continue topping every time there's a branch leading the pack. If I want a big bushy plant that's not too tall then I top when the plant has atleast 6 nodes. But nevertheless I'm looking forward to seeing how they turn out especially when the rapid vegetative growth kicks in after each of your planned transplants.
  4. I use to make my own. Quite an easy design. It ends up with a square bottom which can be beneficial to maximize floor space. And you don't have to use the weed guard material that's a bit costly. Most fabric company's sell a material called spunbond. Works perfectly. Just a little thinner.
  5. Better to use a normal pot and transplant. These pots add too much resistance for a plant that has a short life span. Those fabric pots are great thou. Great for the roots and also for keeping fungus gnats at bay. Just put a thin layer of pool filter sand on top and bye bye fungus gnats. Btw I don't use fabric pots atm cos they expensive when you need many and time consuming when you have to diy them.
  6. Do what I did. Find a strain that's got very little high and lots of medical benefits that could replace any medication she takes eg anxiety tablets etc. Get her to germinate it. And take good care of it. She will stop complaining about the noise and the missing kitchen utensils and let's not forget those hangers we steal from her cupboard. I use to dry my buds on hangers. It became extra work. I gave her all 50 of those hangers and now she's a lot more helpful in the garden. She even knows how to check ph and feed the gals. She's always checking my controllers and updating me on temperatures etc when I'm working.
  7. I agree. Keep the clone and flower the mother thou... You don't want to be keeping a big plant thats is in its prime growing stage around only to find its average.
  8. My 2c on the topic... Wish someone told me that these plants hate been over cared for... especially in the beginning. When they pop their little selves out their shells, just leave them alone. Give them a few weeks and then you can start poking and pinching. With regards to genetics... if you want to grow "local Landrace" then we only talking about 1 really, Durban Poison. And you better off buying DP seeds from a seed bank. If you want to grow bag seed indoors then you basically wasting money. It would be cheaper to go buy more of that weed. Electricity, Nutrients and many many other things becomes costly very quickly. Another mistake would be to grow that seed you found in indoor weed. 95% chance it was from a hermie. The next part I will surely get some criticism but it's for everyone that's a similar grower to me(1000W hps lights/aircons/dehumidifiers/etc). The main thing I wish someone told me that if I want to grow the FIRE, I need to bite the bullet and buy regular seeds from true breeders. They crazy expensive but still way cheaper then many of the other components of a grow we fork out money for. Peace my brothers. I'm very passionate about this plant and my hopes are that one-day we will have all the BEST genetics floating around locally and we won't have to look at buying seeds from abroad.
  9. All the breeders and seed banks put out big thc numbers. I don't think I would be able to correctly guess what thc percentage are in my flowers. What attracts me and I think most people to good weed is the terps before potency.
  10. Not talking about harvesting. Just stealing 1 2 colas of those new flavours you run early. I take notes of the flower and add to log
  11. Try get a small diskem humidifier and place outside the tent. Monitor things. Conditions change all the time. Do it on the 2nd day of drying. It's quite beneficial having low humidity for the 1st day. It kills of those fan leaves and gets things safe so you don't have to worry about mould etc especially if you have alot to dry
  12. I actually envy you guys that have naturally low humidity. Well not for the drying phase per say. Here in durbs the humidity is high. Takes me almost 2 weeks drying time to get the buds dry enough for an easy trim. I use a portable ac to lower humidity and keep drying area cool. Anyone else pluck early even when trichs are clear?
  13. Okay so for now I'm not personally gonna do an outdoor grow. I would love too but don't want to do work on my outdoor plants and then go work on my indoor plants carrying some hitchhikers. And also it's a mission doing an outdoor grow here because of all the light pollution. I've got some plants I'm giving to a mate. We prepared the holes they gonna go into earlier in the year. With regards to the lights cycle in my veg room in not going to be able to reduce the hours because I'm vegging my own plants 24hrs. So now we getting closer to when we have to move these girls into their new home outdoors. No supplemental light available. When do you guys think we should do this move?
  14. Wow nice garden brother. Nice to see you get bud before the season even begins. I've had a few unintentional harvests outdoors in the last few months. Plants went into flower. Fed them here or there. Had to chop them early. I like your pots. Glad to see I'm not the only one that uses old plastic bottles. I mean big pots are expensive here... Anyway to the question. I'm an indoor grower for the most part and veg under 24hours light. I've noticed that when ever any of my plants are moved outdoors they kick into flower very quickly +-1 week. So bearing in mind my 24 hour veg, on what date should I move plants outdoors this year. Indoors I chop them at day 65. I'm thinking maybe 1st week December???
  15. In general... how do you start your autos? Germinate them in their final pots or do you get them going in a small pot and then transplant them ? I know there's lots of info on this on the net but nothing beats get answers from fellow local growers. I'm assuming that you have grown quite a few autos by the fact that you trying hst like mainlining. Have you come across any that can pass as AAA cos unfortunately I haven't. The coolest auto I've grown was dark devil auto by sweet seeds.
  16. Polyploid mutation seems quite interesting but don't think it's the mutation I have. This mutation is called whorled phyllotaxy. I've taken a few clones of this plant. Some from lower on the plant that didn't exhibit this mutation and some clones that already exhibit the mutation. I just hope this plant doesn't seed my garden and becomes a rare keeper that I can share with my cannabis family. Today is officially Day 1 for this plant.
  17. Gents... Strain: Wedding Cake S1 Breeder: Phenofinder Seeds Mutation: 4way branching at nodes. This plant sprouted and grew fine at 1st. After 1st topping that's when the mutation appeared. The plant itself has great structure and is one of the most vigorous plants I've grown to date. It has countless tops on thick stems. Has anyone experienced this mutation? Did the plant throw any nanners? Was quality compromised with the extra yield? This is my 1st time growing an S1 so I have no idea how stable they are especially when you throw a mutation in the mix. Btw only one mutation out of 5 pack. And for those that don't know S1 = Self-pollinated Peace
  18. I've always read that any sort of high stress training is bad for autos. I once received a free feminised blue og from attitude seedbank amongst many other freebies. All were supposed to be photos. So I treated them like photos. Topped them. And then topped those 2 tops like normal to encourage bushing out. And that's when it happened, the blue og started flowering. Harvested over 200grams at day 70. Every other auto I grew in the past averaged like 50grams-70grams. So yeah PsyCLown is right it probably depends on the vigour of the auto and when it starts flowering. With regards to mainlining in general, what are the benefits of it in your personal experience?
  19. I'm not sure where GSR get there in-house branded seeds from. Probably bulk seed bank. I've had issues with GSRs in-house seeds in the past. Poor germination and also plants that are not what they supposed to be. 100% indicas growing like landrace sativas. Okay getting back to what to do. 1st thing take off the dome. Domes are not good for germinating seeds(especially in durbs right now) as is promotes bad fungi that increases the chances off damping off when they do sprout. Pop the seeds in some damp coco or dirt or squeeze out some of that moisture from the rock wool. You need the medium to start to dry up a little to promote that sprouted tap root to grow. Now you don't want it to completely dry out. A misting here and there. And also keep it in the dark till it sprouts. Give it a week. After that take this as a lesson and rather buy quality seeds in sealed breeders packs. Dark Devil Auto by sweet seeds is one decent stable auto that I've grown and is available locally nowadays. Do some research on international grow diaries before you hit that checkout button.
  20. I hope they don't set the plant limit at 2. Mainly because 2 flavours to carry me till next harvest is not gonna do it. At a minimum give us 4 plants per person. But in saying this I hope legislature is set soon so we carry out our favourite hobby in peace and inline with the law...
  21. So the Cops arrested a guy here in durban for have a "Drug Lab". The police state in their report that this guy has been illegally cultivating a stronger form of cannabis in his home known as hydroponic cannabis. They are also charging him for having a box of Viagra under some pharmaceutical act. The photograph of his plants that I saw in the news paper was honestly some small unhealthy plants that were either in dirt or coco. This whole story were cops make things look worse then they are is disappointing and scary at the same time. It makes me think what would they say about my grow room... So the question is How do we protect ourselves from being set-up and arrested when we grow more then what would be regarded as for personal use? If one shares their produce with friends and family and doesn't sell it how does he keep proof of this? I know dealing is illegal so we talking about protecting ourselves when we grow a lot but don't sell
  22. The npk ratios and feeding charts are not right for flowering but in saying that with a couple additives I think we can get it close enough. I would recommend a mkp but not the type that hydroponics sell that has higher potassium. Haifa sells I think a 0-52-34. This will fix their blend ratio for midflower. The Haifa Duo which they have as their calcium source will throw the ratios off more. They sell a calmag that's perfect. It does not have nitrogen. All the luck with this range. I've just given a few plants their 1st feed with spiff 2 in week 1 flower. Hope it does as good as the other plants on flora micro and bloom.
  23. So I did some seed starts as well looking for some new flavours
  24. Hi guys. Thought I'd share my current grow. I'm nearing the end of Veg currently. Okay let me take you to the beginning...
  25. I will start testing it any day now after flip. Yesterday I sprayed plants with afrikelp and nutri-slim triacontanol. They looking better already. So the flip is nearing
