  1. The Jet Fuel Gelato seemed ready at week 6 already based on Trichomes not much size so I decided to chop 2 tops and let the rest go for another 2 weeks.

I didn't dry it properly and cured for about 5 days, I got it tested yesterday at an event.

Water content is high because of bad drying but going to be interesting to see the results of the buds harvested 2 weeks later and dried properly.

Yes yes yes. This is some fire man. I hope you get some wicked pheno expressions in that batch.

It's good to do a group buy on these type of seeds as they are crazy expensive to just buy yourself.

Please keep us posted man I would love to see those ladies in their full glory.

All of the best brother man ✌️

Thanks man! I will definitely be starting a diary soon that will be updated more ofren🤭

I agree buying together helps a lot, we got lucky with a 40% discount on these so we had to jump on it.

Yeah what the Dr did to those Headbangers was exceptional. With every grow we learn and hone in on the skills that will make us happy campers.

So what you planning on popping next?

So myself and @Dr. Greenpurchased a pack of Loud Cake together so I will be running 4 of them. Might stick in random clone but I'll see, 5 plants felt a bit too much in my spare.

  5. I finally decided to harvest.

The 1 Crescendo and Headbanger could of definitely gone abit longer but due to space everything must be Chopped!

This was definitely a challenging grow, not being there daily to check up on plants and feeding has cause some problems.

The Blumat watering worked great but needs to be monitored daily as I've had pipes blocked abit and those plants sufferred from that only noticing a few days later.

Now time to wait and see how they turn out and taste.

  6. I tried those when I 1st started growing, the 100w cost about R110 and 50w R60 from the store nearby.

They can work for Veg but that's about it, all of them I had eventually blew after 2 months and they get very hot, you can burn yourself if not careful even having a fan running on it didn't help much.

I probably spent R2000 on these type of lights, ac cobs and "600w" blurple LEDs and they just didnt do it when you flower and you end up disappointed, rather save for a decent LED.

As a late comer to this poll, am I allowed to suggest our own soil, Thrive Living Soil from www.thrivecentre.co.za ? We tend to find that a lot of soil producers try to throw the kitchen sink into a soil, without really understanding what elements do what. The whole "bullshit baffles brains" approach. So, for instance rock dust can stall your plants if you haven't also included indigenous microbes collected during the winter months. That is because indigenous soil microbes move deeper down in the soil layers during winter, in order to decompose the tougher mineral matter, versus more usual organic matter in summer months.
Some of the key components to get right are obviously your base NPK ratio. We aim for around 6:3:2 with a strong and sustained Nitrogen boost for initial growth, and then a slower and more sustained release of Phosphorous and Potassium for fruiting and flowering. Getting the timing right is important and that's where the inoculated biochar comes into play. It's also important that the composting process introduces living, microbial matter into the soil food web, and that it finds a home in the biochar, establishing a symbiotic relationship with the plant roots. A good living soil should give you at least 2 full strong growths without refeeding with compost and/or organic fertilisers. Although you really want to be feeding and fertilising your soil, and not the plant i.e. the plant needs to talk to the soil for what it needs, and not let the human try and force feed the plant.
We are exceptionally lucky in that our soils have excellent natural mycelium and perfect pH for cannabis, developed over thousands of years in Hogsback. That is something that no soil producer can ever reproduce on their own.  We also produce most of our own amendments, such as our oak and bamboo biochar (Japanese style) which also gives us superb wood vinegar. This is not that well known in South Africa but wood vinegar is probably your number one all-round Natural insecticide and fungicide. As far as I know we are the only ones producing it in SA, as not that many have sustainable oak and bamboo resources. It is Nature's own plant immune booster, root growth stimulant and flavour enhancer. You can read more about it at www.woodvinegar.org

Wow, your prices are very very good. I will buy a couple of bags and test them out during this outdoor season.

Same here man at that price its very good. @Thriveare you available in the Cape Town?

  9. Week 4 of Flower and things aren't looking too bad.

Everything is starting to get frosty and pick up weight only the head banger lacking behind but I think with the increased light she might start picking up.

I've got 2 new 120w lights as I felt that the 420w wasn't enough but then decided to remove 1 x 90w to start my up my 2nd tent (Something loud coming) I'm excited to see if I can and by how much I can improve my yeild.

    Hi there @Autoflow3r

Your product sounds pretty interesting! Have you any experience working with any Sonoff gadgets? It seems very similar to what you are planning to make.

Sonoff's are excellent and affordable! I just wish they could save data for you to be able to view over period of time.

@Autoflow3rif you could write a script that saves the sonoff data somehow I'm sure you could make some money.

That's funny, my friend gave me the tops of 2 plants that were too big for his boot, He got a tour of the farm and could pick any plants he liked.

Haha same here man the place is pretty cool. I wanted to take more than 1 plant but only had the cash for one.

There's a fine sight. How big are the clones when they arrive and how much did they cost?

My hash plant x Blueberry were originally bought from a farm, near Paarl. Apparently there's a sign at the gate saying Hemp Plants For Sale. They are the fastest and easiest plants I've got growing, also mildew/Eskom resistant too.

You also don't know what it was treated with either. They could potentially be sprayed with a cocktail of poison to keep the mildew and bugs away.

I got a Super cheese mother plant from the place you talking about. Was over 2m tall, had to take about 50cm from her to fit in the boot. Was a nice filler for winter as the plant was fully grown just needed to flower.

Multiple quantum boards can be seen as modular in the sense that one can adjust their height individually, like I do in my tents with multiple 240W lights.

@stick you can also dim the 240W light if need be. Would work well in such an area, give you extra height too which could be useful in a shorter space like yours.

Save up and get a proper light. It'll be worth it.
Gives you time to do some research too I guess.

That's the only down side of the Modugrow that there's no dimmer but I just disconnect 1 from the other.

Sweet! Thanks dude, the modular aspect is most certainly a win in my books.

It's definitely a win. I'm going to add the 2 new ones to my old ones and can spread them out evenly.

The lights at end of life can be refurbished instead of replacing it.

They use a 3030SMD diode.. that is a LM301 diode, bru.. who told you that it isn't a IM301? I prefer the 3000k version with no UV.. but that is just a detail.. those are nice grow lights. And good priced too 😁

The guys at PHOTRONIC tested my light so I took their word for it💁🏽‍♂️

Here's the Facebook post they did.

Ok thats good to know, thank you.

How is the light performing? Because I am also after a 240w QB.

The light is good, no issues at all. Came with an MEANWELL XLG driver.
