I find the CBD strains help calm one down and the quality of sleep often seems improved.

Otherwise a nice strong indica would probably help, with more amber / orange trichomes will probably help the cause too.

In terms of potency, I have yet to see an autoflower reach potency levels which the photoperiods reach.

The higher autoflowers I have seen have been around 26% THC - while still respectable, not the over 30% which is now being seen on some photoperiod strains.

With that being said, auto's certainly have their place and I will most likely be growing more in the future

Those Bovida bags I bought once, 5 years ago... and use the same since. If a bag gets "grainy" from the crystallized salts, the bag(s) get their own vacuum container with a little cotton ball wet with water. When the bags are nice and elastic again,  they go into the normal vacuum storage jar with the others and moisten out evenly over the next month till I use them again.

So 5 years ago I invested something like 1000 Rand into bags and use them since.. 200 Rand a year, isn't really a wallet cruncher  I blow 1000 Rand a month fertilizer into my plants.. is a huge waste not to cure that or you smoke your own nutrition's. Like good wine.. if you don't let it stand and ripe in perfect conditions, your 200$ bottle of wine is just vinegar in the beginning, after the right amount of time, you get a unbelievable smooth and tasty experience. Cure your weed!

 

I think the drying and curing process is the most neglected tasks by most growers.. and has the biggest impact on your buds taste.

It would actually be interesting to reset the poll and start a new one.

Just because a company started out well, does not mean they are still first pick.

The market has grown since the poll was first put up, new seedbanks have opened up locally and stock has increased overall.

@PsyCLown have you planted the Ethos Citradelic Sunset yet. It is quite a tasty and potent strain from what I've read online.

What do you guys think about me moving all my indoor plants outside to help battle these mites? 
Most of my outdoor plants has started budding, so i assume they wont go into reveg?
i cant get a handle on them indoors and they getting worse. So I'm hoping the outdoors will make life hard for them and maybe it'll get under control. 
My WW plants that i moved outside about 5-6 weeks ago are now completely mite free. 

A quick Google search stats Thripex are predatory mites, Koppert seem to stock / sell them.

What makes a good breeder, I'd say good breeding practices... although one wants quality genetics too.

Having the best breeding practices, but not having anything exceptional isn't really ideal.

You don't necessarily need to have good breeding practices to end up with some quality genetics though.

I agree that there are plenty of companies out there who just pollen chuck and hope for the best. They advertise one thing and in a pack of seeds you do not find that specific pheno or there are too many phenos which are undesirable.

Like @trichomechaser I too prefer the US breeders over the Dutch / European ones.

I too am keen to hear about some awesome breeders which are out there, in SA I feel the exposure to quality breeders is very limited unfortunately.

The stronger it is, the less you need to smoke.

I find it rather interesting, keen to see what comes of it.

So I have grown very hard, dense buds as well as rather airy bud under the exact same LED lights - heck, it was part of the same grow just 2 different plants and therefore different genetics.

Distance from the LEDs were the same, power was the same and since it was in the same tent even the environment was the same.

Good lights make a massive difference for sure, although there are many other contributing factors. I have mentioned this before, I like to use the example of a professional athlete and compare them to seeds / genetics.

They have the potential, although in order for them to reach their full potential they need to make sure they eat properly and rest sleep and train hard etc. (lights, environment, nutes etc.)

If you have all of that right, it is a winning combo - so good quality lights and good genetics and grown well.

Then if you were to take an average Joe, perhaps someone like myself. No matter how hard I train or how I eat and so forth - I won't end up at the professional athlete level. I could have the best of everything but genetically it just isn't going to happen.

I feel the 2 biggest factors in a grow are genetics and quality lighting. Environment often fluctuates a bit in most grows, nutes there are plenty of different brands and most are decent etc. etc.

Having the best genetics but shitty lights and growing conditions will yield shit still.

On the contrary, having shit genetics but amazing light and growing conditions will also yield shit.

@420SA so not being accessed directly via the clubs section. I assume if viewing permissions were adjusted for the clubs it would prevent this from happening.

Your plants look happy, although the cupping of the leaves on that auto is not ideal but that has been harvested anyways.

If you look underneath the leaves, do you see any pests of any sort?

What medium are you using?

Coco? Hydro? Soil?

If coco or soil, I feed nutes when required. With coco I quite like fertigation (constant watering, before the coco is allowed to dry out too much... generally multiple times per day).

Soil it will vary, but I find I tend to water a flowering plant every 2 to 3 days in a 20L fabric pot.

For hydro, well, only when needed.

I also dislike using ml for nutes, rather look at getting an EC pen and start measuring and mixing nutes according to the EC or PPM. You will have better control over what your plants are getting.

So I have been seriously slacking with updates on this grow, it has not been an ideal grow at all.

I have hardly been home, so have really neglected the grow, I got some PM earlier on which was treated but I took my time to treat the PM and then I was a few days late with multiple waterings which the plants were not too happy about. I also got thrips which I did not notice right away and they pretty much wrecked the leaves on some of the plants (especially Man Cookies #2). Hopefully Man Cookies #2 will pull through.

I have pollinated the Man Cookies #2 and the Grape Diamond. I have harvested the Man Cookies #1 and am waiting for the Inzane and her seeds to mature before I harvest.

I have not even had time to trim the harvested Man Cookies #1 so will be forced to do a dry trim. The bud looks alright still, decent frost but I do not feel these plants have reached their full potential unfortunately and it is all my fault.

I just want this grow to be over, will need to give the tent a good clean due to the pests and PM and then will start a new grow... But only once everything has been harvested. The Man Cookies #2 is looking super frosty but I am getting worried and thinking the thrip damage on the leaves is perhaps too severe and stunting the plant. Will give it a bit more time and then decide whether to scrap it or try and see what I can get out of the plant and whether it's worth while or not.

So plans have changed, had to give this plant away and @CreX is now finishing off the growing of the auto.

Last I saw it did not have any colour on it, I think I may still have 1 more seed left and I still have some pollen.

I still have quite a few auto seeds, but, will need to see when I can start growing them. My setup will be changing soon and will most likely be focusing more on photoperiods.

Inline fan will only be able to bring the temperate to the ambient temperature at best, which I imagine would be higher outside than inside your house.

If you have an AC inside the house, then def it should be inside.

I agree that having the cupboard inside your house will probably make it easier for you, direct sun I fear will increase temps quite a bit. Extraction fan outside may be a bit suspicious as majority of them are rather noisy.
