    Books

What books would you all recommend for getting some background on cannabis breeding? Thanks
  2. Agreed, it concerns me that right now it seems like the police can simply pretend they are psychic and infer intent to sell based on nothing. The fact that any one gets prosecuted currently without the police even attempting to gather evidence of distribution is a bit scary I think.
  3. Supercropping is pretty stressful (for the grower ). If you have not done it before, I'd suggest watching a few youtube vids on it so that you know what to expect. As crazy as it looks it works really well and means you wont accidentally snap a stem. Good luck
  4. I was just going to ask if it's ok to super crop in flower.
  5. I left this clone in a bit longer than normal as I was not checking the roots often. Very good root growth if I'm just a bit patient, they also seem to be growing faster in the warmer weather.
  6. I've seen people doing that online. Seems to work... Did you try it perhaps?
  7. Thanks @Totemic! So for indoors open up bud sites quite a bit and lollipop?
  8. Jorge Cervantes says no (Trouble with trial and error is the error part when you only have one plant ) (I saw this from @Oolong83 originally)
  9. I'm trying to decide exactly the same thing at the moment.
  10. I think you'd probably be best with a strain that is good for relaxation / pain or some combination of that, either in one strain or a mix. Check somewhere like www.leafly.com to see what to expect from a strain. Hopefully the more experienced oil users will chime in here too Do you have some idea what the freebie seeds are? But if you have seeds and want to do a first grow then some free seeds may be good to test with? You could learn quite a bit with them. E.g. you could take clones as they grow, once the original flowers you'll know if its male/female and only keep those clones. You could also play with a very short veg time (i.e a few weeks) and then go directly to flower. That gets you though a full grow cycle fast and means you get to test the strain sooner. Then with your next grow you can do a longer veg on female clones to get a bigger yield. Or you could just wait for better seeds
  11. I hope you do, it will be very interesting to see!
  12. Interesting, thanks @Kgrows. I'd love to do a side by side with this one-day.
  13. Yup, that is what most of the experts say. It certainly simplifies things for us coco growers
  14. Almost definitely not IMO. I think for it to work effectively you need high CO2 a well sealed tent with all the humidity & heat control as @PsyCLown and @CreX were saying. I'm pretty much in the same space as you goal wise, and I certainly would not worry about that. Get the basics right, no need to over-complicate things . E.g. I'm going to be doing shorter veg cycles as I don't need large quantities, so faster cycles work better. I'd say keep it simple, and tailor to what you want
  15. I've not seen that in a while . I used to do that for aquarium plants. It worked ok-ish there. (Issues were output consistency, short lifespan and no way to switch off at lights out) Does it work well for a grow room? I'd be a little surprised if it does that well. With aquariums you'd target around 30ppm CO2, atmospheric CO2 isaround 300-400ppm. Thats a big difference. But I have no real idea not having tried it. But if you are going to try this I'd make a few suggestions Try use a good brewers yeast. They produce CO2 for longer since they are less worried about the alcohol levels Google "long lasting diy co2 generator". There are recipes that use molasses / marmite / protein formulas. When I was doing DIY CO2 a mix like that nearly doubled the time the yeast would produce CO2 In aquariums the second bottle is to stop yeast getting into the tank (the pipe should be in the water for that to work ideally). Perhaps optional for a tent?
  16. OMG! That Adams dude had better be busy preparing his oscar worthy speech. "I have no idea why they have my number, its unfathomable"...
  17. My chocolope took 10 days before I saw anything. So I think you are still on track
  18. @TrailBlazer do you need a driver with these or is that what the COB means?
  19. What are you doing to keep the pollen from these males getting into your other tents?
  20. Nice, that is exciting! Took a while
  21. When I made the first version I looked around and could not find any solid advice on in vs out of the water. I ended up going with in the water because I was not getting enough bubbles to keep the stems wet. It has worked really well actually, so far I'd guess about 19/20 clones succeeded. I've got three more that I've just put into coco so hopefully that is another three successfully cloned. The did take really long to start rooting this time though, I'm assuming because its winter. I'd say about 7-10 days for the root nubs to start and then another 5 before there was enough of a root to justify planting them out. I do have a fishtank heater in the water, but that can only do so much. I think next time I clone a few I'll see if keeping the lid open sooner helps the growth get started. What are your timelines / process like?
  22. Same... After the chocolopes I'll be trying shorter veg times to see if that helps. I've got clones, so I should be growing all females for the next flower. Of course now that clones are taking I'm out of space in the clone box
  23. Its a dumb name... But its this thing, lots of small bubbles but not much splashing I've been using that, but even with a fish tank heater now in winter its taking about two weeks for roots to get going. The plants look really good the entire time though The previous lot I planted out into coco are all doing well. So it seems to be working well enough.
