1. I just love this pic. The neighbour will literally see a weed flower just sticking out like that!
Hahaha...Was nervously aware of my neighbors with that plant, keeping an eye and all. Eventually I had to gently push her over(hillbilly LST) and tied her to a bamboo stake to keep her out of view.
Couldn't do much about the fragrances though.
Luckily it remained stealthy.

2. Oolong83 Bospatrollie2, I put three of my remaining White Widow seeds into water yesterday morning and by this morning I had one with a small root and another just starting to crack. So I'm hoping you'll have some luck too. I did keep the water at ~25C, using a small fish tank heater, perhaps that helped? I'll move them out into paper towel now (I'd usually go to jiffies but I want to watch how they do).
I've changed my germination method slightly as I believe the ''paper towel'' part cost me some beans in the past. This is personal opinion.

12-24hr soak in water
Staight into seedling trays with compost
(Water with AACT- I suspect the microflora are crucial at this stage)
Keep trays indoor for warmth, transfer outside as soon as the emerge.
Last two batches 100% germ rate.

Will run this method on the w/w and c/o end of the month.

3. Yo guys, so I messed like... 2 cups of brown sugar all over the kitchen floor... Obviously no longer ideal for coffee... But can I chuck it in my compost?
To About 100l of compost
Sugar is a carbohydrate the microbes will love it. Or use it for AACT.

4. Hey there, I am impressed with the resulting plant, it looks fantastic, I am in the midst of breeding. And I am aiming for plants with similar structure. So imo, job done perfectly! Best of luck with the grow, I hope to be able to follow it.
Thanks@Ssomeguy

I am happy with the results so far, ladies are doing well, but it's early days yet.
Believe she will do even better in the summer outdoor season as winter outdoor conditions aren't ideal.

Time will tell.

5. Sad tidings today,

Unfortunately our reveging Mango lady has given up the ghost.

Reasons are not 100% clear, maybe the stress of having the remaining buds trimmed off in an effort to promote reveging was the last straw. Maybe the outside day/night temp swings 10/30deg was just too much. Maybe all the above.

She was crossed with a Swazi Gold male and some of the resulting beans were so keen to grow they cracked and showed tap roots while still on the tree, before they could be harvested. Of course they were duly planted

The resulting offspring has us quitely optimistic.b53b68310452e1a19348e2bd5cb3254f.jpg049cfbdf7277dcba02d0f0c1aca2a85e.jpge4ee1599c3e0404907b78b97c903cfdd.jpg667b7e2f793826060c9165d337ff952d.jpgd3f069bf3966753ffa45832cf14d8b54.jpg

6. Must be smelling dank when you work on them... nice aromas floating arround I assume..
:-peace
Must admit I never fully understood the word ''dank''....
But these plants own that word...hahaha..
''Dank'' is perfect.

7. Evening fellow horticulturists
2 of our ladies have forged ahead and started bulking up and we have increased their feeding schedule to satisfy their needs.
Despite an attempt by some spidermites and thrips trying to spoil the party.

Pushing full strength seagrow (50ml/10lit+ 2ml epsom) mixed with koipond water for added benefits.

So far so good.
Green thumbs all the way.2d9daa7d29d44521df1b7e4007cf6a8b.jpg2ba3f401fe02cd5122b4b1e83ff588ac.jpga1e9e549060508a917449c7a53b240cf.jpg0922c8d5f986579c4f66886d70c35e7b.jpg

8. You will need to do this properly from the word go... Trust me from experience.. You do not wanna try stuff and "see if it works".. You will waste weeks of time, many plants, and have endless headaches..
My solution would be to hit them hard with Predatory mites, swarski mites... They chow spider mites, thrips, white flies... Pretty much anything on your ladies...
You can get some from livingseeds. Co. Za
There is another place iv seen them mentioned... But I can't remember now
I have been testing many different organic applications from the beginning of 2019 on more than just my cannabis plants. It is a venture for my own knowledge and to prove or debunk all the stuff you read on the net. Yes I am aware that there will be eff...ups, but what I learn today I can apply tomorrow.
Some ''mixtures/applications''were more potent than others as I dont only grow cannabis and all plants react differently. My main criteria was to try and match commercial products in efficacy but most importantly retain the organic diy element.

What I can report....After two intensive applications the spidermites are nearly gone and I have not found another thrip.
But only time will tell.
This type of knowledge is what I'm after and if it is successful I will share.

9. LoL. I was just waiting for that.....

Haha had a good chuckle....
The means by which they gain entry to the 'host'- infect. Maybe colonize would be better. But the result is positive symbiosis in which both plants benefit.

As long as the result is positive does it matter how you got there.

10. Looks like a thrip to me  , they a pain in the ass to get rid off. Regular pyrol sprays should sort them out in veg
Thanks GLO,

Got a few spidermites I'm dosing with some special organic muti, was looking for them when I found that bugger.
Spidermites and thrips leave different patterns of damage.
Havent noticed the thrips but that doesnt mean they are not there.

The problem is, they are on the flowering ladies.
Is pyrol safe during flowering?
What is safe to spray during flowering? Heard thrips don't like garlic but holy crap....garlic flavoured buds???

11. Evening fellow growers,

During inspection of our plants I came across this ugly bugger.

Can anyone identify it and how big of a problem can they be pls?

(Not a mite or aphid-looks more like an ''oorkruiper'')

Thanks

12. The Mango Kush pheno seems very dominant in our bagseed grow.
Believe you me, I am not complaining
The last buds went up in glorious smoke....literally.

Same structure, 3 tip main leaf and buds stacking tight and dense close to the stem.
Beautiful dejavu...
Except these ladies are a bit bigger than their predecessor.
Knowledge is power

Thanks 420SA

13. I have tons of these in my garden... Luckily they didn't cause any noticeable damage to my plants... They are really good in the compost bin to chow the compost and aeration
All over my compost bin, adults and larvae.
Larvae apparently only eat dead and decomposing matter. They seem to stay away from my cannabis, hope it stays that way.

14. A hermie.
That pollen will also be no good.
Thanks@Totemic

That's what I thought, showing signs of both genders.

Forfooksakes....
Got gifted these 2 beans- ''fems''from the Netherlands.
The female is doing great and flowering nicely with the rest of the girls.

Oh well...Off with its head.
And then there was ONE.

Cheers.

15. Afternoon all,
Need some clarification here pls.
Plant first showed pollen sacs, identifying it postively as a male. It was seperate for pollen collection-breeding.
A week later it's showing what seems to be female pre-flowers(pistils)

Is this plant then a ''dual sex'' or ''hermie'' or am I missing something?

Thanks

16. High.
What are your opinions about adding Banana tea & Wood ash to your composted soil, during the flowering stage?
Who has seen results with this?
Hi Rabbit,
Have you used the ash and banana tea? Just watch the ph with ash it tends to be quite high and can wreak havoc on the existing microlife and cause more problems.
I brewed the bananas with my normal compost tea and mixed my 'ash tea' seperately, added some used coffee grounds to lower ph to around 7.

Cheers vir eers
