  1. Hey man.

This is my option of what happened to your plant. Your plant was in late flower but due to the light cycle peaking above 12 hours (late spring) it started to reveg, you can clearly see this with the abnormal growth, it's called fox tailing. I do not think your plant was pollinated by a male, but pollinated itself (hermie), this can be caused by stressing the plant to the extend that its defensive mechanism kicks in to reproduce automatically, usually it only produces a few seeds.

The only way you will be able to "save" the plant is by harvesting early or by putting it in a grow tent with 18/6 or 20/4 lighting.

If you are in the Western Cape, the new outdoor grow season has started, cut your losses and plant a few new seeds.

    Anyway, just my opinion...

  2. For me the most important aspects of a successful grow is quality lights, soil and genetics.

So when starting out (indoor) invest in a quality light, when going outdoors you already have a quality light, the sun, so invest time and money in soil, either make your own or buy from a reputable source. Lastly genetics, fork out a few bucks for quality genetics, I mean you going to spend allot of time looking after the plant, might as well be worth it at the end. Not saying a random bagseed will not produce quality buds, but at the end of the day it's a bagseed, nothing more...

  3. Hey man.

In my opinion, germinate the seeds, there is allot of option for germination but I usually soak the seeds in water and leave them overnight (they will float for the first few hours, just press them down and they should sink to the bottom), from here you could plant them directly in the seed starter mix or first put them in a damp paper towel until their tap roots are about a cm (ai usually put the damp towel in a humidity dome), then plant them in the seed starter mix (tap root down about 1cm below the surface).

With the seed starter mix only water with ph'd water, no nutes. In a day or two you should start seeing some activity, helps if the room is nice a warm. Keep watering just with water. When they start showing the first little leaves move them nice and close to the lights, I use quantum boards so cannot comment on HPS as I know they are allot warmer, but at this stage you might see allot of stretching and could potentially be problematic if they overstretch and fall over, thus the comment to move them close to the light...

In a few weeks depending on your starter pot, when 3 or 4 notes are visible I would transplant them in bigger pots, min 10liter, now this a topic on its own to transplant a auto or not, I do it and I even top my autos, your plant, you can do what you want with it 😛

Do not feed any nutes for the first few weeks as it might stun the little seedling, also if you do start feeding nutes do it half of what the bottle says or even less. I personally use the BioBizz range, Grow and Bloom... Also some Kelpak (root stimulator) in the early stages should do wonders.

Just keep posting your progress (with pictures) on the forum, there is allot of knowledgable growers who would gladly help you.

    Good luck and happy growing.

(Disclaimer, the info above is my opinion, please also do your own research and do what works for you.)

  4. To add to what @PsyCLown said, in your instance if you plant the Apple Pie photoperiod seed now your plant will only start to flower towards the middle of March next year as the days start getting shorter and light duration dip below 12 hours a day.

But if you plant the auto flower Lemon Haze now you will harvest in the next 12 to 16 weeks, depending on the autoflower strain and depending on how rip you want it to be...

Disclaimer - My times and dates might be incorrect

  5. Hey H20u.

If I were you I would get 20liter pots, either materiel or normal black plastic ones, fill with quality cannabis soil (either go Freedom Farm, Jamie's Living Soil or Craft Cannabis Spoil) and test your location with a few of those bag seeds. In my opinion 20liter pots will restrict your plants from growing to big and will not be that heavy to move around.

Watch out for the wind when your plants are small as they can bend if they stretch to much in the first few weeks.

I would not worry about fertilizer at this point, especially when going with the premixed soil options.

End of the month the light cycle will be good, keeping in mind that your bag seeds will not start to flower before the light dark cycle gets to 12 / 12... this is where the beauty lies in the auto flower seed you purchase as you will be able to flower before the grow season ends.

    Just my humble 2 cents...

  6. I'm by no mean experienced but according to me, if the plant is growing fine and not showing any other deficiencies other that the purple stems it could be either weather (cold) or a phenotype of the strain... I would not worry to much, if the only issue you have is purple stems then you are okay 😛

@Stoukie dude what's the expected yield on this auto as I with like to grow this next

Hey Nico, I pulled a pathetic amount off mine as I was "cleaver" with the training, that and I tend to keep my plants very small due to space. Friend who I shared a seed with pulled between 60g to 80g if I remember correctly, but again his space is also limited...

@SkunkPharm I'm not sure they came for free with my order of a Vapocane vaporizer, but I cannot seem to find any information about them on the internet. So now I have a pack of 5 unknown seeds laying around. I also have no experience in growing so I don't know how to see if they are good or not

Hey man, any markings on the packaging hinting at a name of the strain perhaps, if in original packaging the name should be present.

Maybe send them a email and ask?

  10. Well thats embarrassing, last update was more than a month ago...

Things have progressed allot, all ladies now in final stages of flower. I must say, this grow was a good example of how a small mistake in the vegging stage of a auto can negatively influence the yield, if it happened with a photoperiod grow one could have easily rectified the issue before switching over to flower.

I personally do not stress to much about how much grams I pull per plant, growing for personal use 😊

From left to right we have the Daiquiri Lime, Fastberry and then the CBD Crack.

Close up of the Daiquiri Lime, I must admit she does look the best out of the 3, keeping in mind I did not do much or any training:

Next is the Fastberry, amazing colours and super frosty:

And lastly the CBD Crack, was hoping for a bit more stretch, but it is what it is, lesson learned:

Hoping to harvest in the next 2 to 3 weeks.

biltong and budz got me some good seeds  at a good price.

    Cannsmiths is top notch too

After their website revamp last week I must say the selection also got better, delivery still not as quick as either Trophy or Sacred Seeds to CPT, but perfectly reasonable.

But now they want to implement if it hasn't already passed, that you have to pay a licence fee for installing solar power.

Total bullshit if you ask me, why must i pay them a licence fee to get off the grid?

Same reason you pay for a tv license even though you do not have a arial on your roof.

It's expensive driving a company into the ground while getting a hefty salary and a big bonus ever few months...
