This is my Glueberry O.G. Mainline Journey over the span of 8 weeks until now. I added a pic or two at the end with my username and date to show what it looks like after 56 days.
Day 8 : The journey begins
Day 21 - Minutes before Mainline Base Training starts
Day 21 - Mainline Base Training started
Day 35 - Stretching sideways, second node of each branch removed
Day 42 - First and third nodes on each side branch stretching nicely
Day 56 - Today
Day 56 - Today (again)
Day 69 - Switched to flower a week ago, little stretching but now much.
So much potential still remain, only time will tell what she will become...

Hi All
Thank you to 420sa for providing a local forum for our beloved cannabis chats.
Seasoned (youtube educated) grower with a hint of formal education eager to engage with this forum. The wife and I grow to treat family members but have recently started a little venture as we rally for legalization.
Let's get to talking
Looking forward to see some content, welcome!

I also suffer the same issue. It's my nemesis with growing in the lowveld and its one I can't fight in the summer. Like you, I can't afford to run an AC. In Nov,Dec,Jan my flower tent was hitting temps of 38 consistently. Some nights 40 because the ambient temp outside was around 32!
All we can do is wait for winter. I used to hate winter... not anymore lol. If ventilation is sorted, the only way to reduce heat is an AC
When running at those high temps do you experience any problems? Or what I actaully wanted to ask, what problems?
My setup also generally run very hot due to the uninsulated zink roof, only problem I had was little serrated parts of leaves curling up... Would also imagine a high temp in the room can dry out the plants to quickly leaving nutrients in the soil that has not been absorbed, one could probably counter this by feeding with clean water every now and then?

Thanks man. And the oil itself? What's your process from flower to oil?
Yeah also interested in the oil making process...

Week and a half since my last update, not much has happened... well a few things has... Jack Herer that has been stashed in the outside bathroom every evening for 12 hours seems to have started budding, very small still but at least she responded to the longer nights.
If you look close you can see the small bud points.
Close up of what seems to be the starting of some budding points.
Little Blue Cheese Auto is now a medium Blue Cheese Auto even though I have topped her, I know training for autos is a bad idea, but felt the topping was minimally invasive...
Huge difference if you look at the last picture I posted a week and a half ago of the little one.
From the side, you will notice the topping I did.
Glueberry that is busy with mainline training is going good except for the fact that I have somehow managed to break off one of the colas, as explained in my previous post. Seeing some stretching of the colas, so that is good.
Northern Lights Auto still going strong in flower, I honestly thought she would be closer to the end by now, but I'm thinking still 4 weeks at least.
Nice and frosty.
As soon as the Northern Lights is done flowering I'm hoping that the Glueberry would be ready to switch to flower, then I'm switching the whole room to a 12 / 12 light schedule.

@CG420za, that is a amazing grow diary! I see what you did differently, you only kept the last colas of each side branch, looked like it panned out in the end!
That flower stretch was hectic, think I will switch her over to flower rather earlier than later to compensate for the stretch... still a few weeks of veg left I think...?
-
Thanks @CG420za.
I'm following Nebula's Manifold Tutorial on GrowWeedEasy.com where the main goal of your mainline base is to have 8 colas, 4 on each side branch (node 1 and 3). So far I'm keeping to the spec
My one deviation that is kicking my OCD in overdrive is the fact that I somehow managed to break off one of the colas, see pic below, top right hand side, right at the end... totally screwed the whole symmetrical look and now only have 7 colas I'm sure I will get over it
First time doing it, so keeping to tutorial, will see how it pans out...

And for 26 days compared to my auto sitting on day 20 those ladies look fantastic, congrats!

They are called weevils... Google them, they are not your friend...

Yeah will be there on Saturday

Hey Jland, the 18/6 I'm currently running is working perfectly for me, must say a stable lighting routine is key. Will change to 20/4 when I'm only running autos, have a few 'normals' that still need to flower then I'm going to switch...
I have actually moved all the nutrients out of the grow room the weekend, was bothering me for a while now. Glad you also agree it was a bad idea to sit and cook them in the grow room
Thank you for the words of encouragement.

Also works great for spider mites, treated my one indoor plant with great success, beats vacuming them
-
Joe, I'm no expert (far from it) but just do your research before spraying neem oil on your flowering plant as I have read there can be 'side effects'... but yeah, no way of knowing until you try it yourself I suppose

I have stashed the Jack Herer in the outside bathroom, will let her out tomorrow morning, I boarded up the windows so its pitch black, hope she will go into flower, will monitor...

Good to know, looking forward to test them all!

Hey guys, 3 weeks since my last update, quite allot has happened. Let's start from the top, spoiler I have a new addition to the family
Jack Herer, sitting with a little problem here as she is getting fantastically big and bushy and feel like I should trigger her to flower, but I have to many others still in veg, so I was thinking of taking her out of my grow room every evening at 8PM and stash her in the outside bathroom until the next morning at 8AM just before I go to work, will be a bit of work but could work, right? A few pictures, keeping in mind I trimmed her a few days ago to get rid of some of the bigger fan leaves.
View from the bottom, low stress training worked a charm.
Next the Northern Lights Auto, its mid flower and looking okay, buds can plump up a bit more but looking okay considering she was outside in bad potting soil for most of her vegging stage. Would say she has a few weeks left still, what do you guys think, 3 to 4 weeks?
Close up, say cheese...
Glueberry is next, they are 5 weeks into my first attempt at mainlining. I must say it's quite a nerve racking ordeal as every time the plant seems to start taking off you trim quite hard. The lady I started creating the mainline base early (2 week) is doing very well, the other one I gave a bit more veg time and only started at week 3 but due to the big amount of plant material I had to remove she went into stress, she going okay but the other one is doing well.
Before the last stage of forming the mainline base:
After forming the last stage of the mainline base, from here I will leave her alone and let the 8 colas that was created grow.
And lastly, the new addition to the family, a Blue Cheese Auto, she is only 10 days old now:

Hahahaha tolerance is all relative , changing strains will reset your tolerance to a a degree
I'm not fully convinced that different strains have different highs, a topic that comes up regularly when my wife and I chill out for a bit, I'm of the opinion that different strains are like wines from different cultivars, tasting the banana and spice or chocolate is all a matter of personal opinion, struggling to describe it but you get my idea... Not just the taste but also the high, I mean THC is THC right?
In my mission to prove myself wrong I have a few strains going (Jack Herer, Northern Lights, Blue Cheese and Glueberry).
Anyway, not the point...
I like to roll a joint, bongs feel to harsh and vaporizing I'm not to sure of, have a Vapir NO2 that I used a few times...
42 minutes ago, Green Leaf Organics said:It's not just about thc , terpines and other canabanoids play a large role in the high as well. There is a definate difference in highs between strains.
That is good to know, I'm looking forward to compare.

Hey man.
I have used the below organic pesticide when my one auto had some red spider mites and worked wonders. Not so sure about when in flowering as I see it contains canola oil, also I presume it's much the same as the Ludwig's pesticide you mentioned, but worth a try maybe...
