Just came from the event now and it was great! Really a treat and getting to meet loads of awesome peeps. I wish I stayed longer to watch them announce the winners but after 20 bongs I was ready for some food and a rest.

Agreed. It was a killer event. The way it was setup, the vibe, alles lekker. And the bud entries were all fire. I couldn't sample all of them though, joh haven't been quite so stoned in a bit

the 120w from light it up with the heat sink is the one with the samsung diodes. that's the one you want 🤙

I'm running a 120w from lightitup in a 60x60 for my clones and early veg and I do feel the light is overkill for the space and could veg 80cm or even 1m.

As for Flowering. Because the light is overkill, and because the tent is only 1.4m high, with the light right at the top of the tent, you going to need some serious training, and even smaller pots to keep Flowering plants small enough to fit in the right zone of light

  3. I use the biobizz range with FF premium , and the issue here is that fishmix. Fishmix is great for veg, but in flower you want to switch to the biobizz grow.

You also don't need to feed every watering. I alternate a feed, then water, maybe just water again, then feed. Feed basically once a week really.

Try increasing the frequency of your watering. I water 15l medium with 2l water every second day

  4. So much life happening that giving more frequent updates on the garden is a mission.

The 4 veg girls are on day 21 of flower today already. This is a strawberry Sugar cookies run, with a ssc clone reversed and dropping first pollen today. Tortoni #1, Quattro Kush F3, Ssc, and a Cheese getting pollinated. Pretty excited to combine the ssc and the tortoni... 2 of the frostiest cuts that have been hunted and grown out over the last 2 years.

  5. Interesting research. Where the government is involved I'm sure all of us have plenty to say. I'll always take the opportunity to raise my insignificant opinions.

I feel our governments approach or any other governments approach for that matter on cannabis is just too much of everything.

They are burying the plant and tieing it up in legislation and red pink and any color tape they can find. This is not freeing the plant.

Before 1922 there was zero law around this plant in south africa, and there is no reason why it can't go back to exactly that. Cannabis should be entirely removed from all written law.

  6. I hear you man. I've also been exploring a lot of new genetics the last 2 years for various reasons, but I'm amped to get back to working my Chocolope NL line this year, and will probably be taking up next year too

  7. I have for countering loadshedding purposes gone down this rabbit hole, and ultimately decided it would be too costly to keep my setup running for even those 2 hours using an inverter and 2 x 100ah deep cycle batteries.

The problem isn't keeping the lights on, as Led lights dont draw that much current.

It's the fans(anything with a motor) that draws power out of batteries Hella fast.

So while the sun is out and blasting you should possibly be able to keep the environment running, but after dark you will need the grid to keep it going

Austrailia: You cant ever have cannabis again......
Me: .......... well miss me out on that trip sucker!!

This is why Australia is not the greatest country in the world

  9. Always an interesting subject.

To flush or not to flush. I used to flush the medium once or twice in flower while using salts. More to lower the buildup of salts, and kind of reset the medium for a fresh feed.

But with organics I feed right up until harvest.

Any plant fade is in my opinion the plant is going hungry. I'm not talking about anthrocyanins from cold, but Nutrient deficiency fades. Sure fades are beautiful, but still a sign of a hungry plant.

Since I've moved on to keep feeding until harvest, my plants leaves mostly remain a vibrant green, and the resulting flowers I harvest have no pronounced drop in quality, nor are they harsh...

  10. It is unfortunate that this has happened. It has little to do with cannabis imo. Sure the plant has been the scapegoat once again for an unnecessary show of force from Saps.

This is about our national keypoints though. With the Parliament fire we can expect a hard change at all the keypoints.

  11. All the best for the year folks.

Just got my new year's home grow on the go with clones into their 15l pots. Used FF premium, re-amended with 200ml elemental blend per pot.

    Quatro Kush F3 (from @SkunkPharm

    Exodus Cheese

    Tortoni#1  and

    Strawberry sugar cookies

They have a good few weeks of veg ahead of them.

  12. Yeah man, it's turning into such a disappointing reintegration of cannabis into our society. The right people aren't at the wheel, they're driving with the handbrake up. While I understand a cautionistic vs head first approach, their perceived harms is disproportionately high to what I perceive as the actual harms of cannabis which is..... Hmmmm. I can't think of a single harmful thing about cannabis. The propaganda machine is still hard at work, and still managing to convince many people the harms are real.

This, and the new bill however it will come, will be keeping our court systems clogged for years still.

Only thing we can do is keep trying to overgrow the govt. When cannabis is growing wild on every roadside, wild in the fields, then maybe things will change.

I'd like to see an outdoor grow off tbh 😁👀

We have done one, and while it is awesome to see plants grow into trees, it is a long season and outdoors is generally unforgiving. Makes it difficult to judge.

If we do an outdoor I'd love to see what that Chocolope NL male of @CreX added to his aurora kush

how many seeds needed for a comp about? i have about a large amount of seeds of about 2 strains (regs) that would love to see get grown out! Its those seeds that came from the last comp where i grew, flowered, pollinated the room with the Chocolope and managed to collect quite a few seeds. if i remember correctly, there were the Grape diamonds and my Aurora kush that were pollinated - i have another strain that i might be able to suggest as well, but need to check some things first.

if no breeder steps up to play a part - i will gladly donate those seeds

Well it depends on how many contestants there are, and assume 5 or 6 seeds if they are regulars and 3 feminized seeds. 200-300 seeds would do it with current participation rates.

I've had plants throw out a nanner or 2 late in flower but never experienced this so early in flower.

When they express during preflower stretch from the primordial spots at the node, it's most likely dominate hermie. Those same plants may not have expressed as hermie outdoors. Sometimes the stresses of indoor are just not manageable by the plant.
