  1. Update on the competition purse.

At present we are sitting with a purse of R2200-00 which means that 22 tickets have been purchased in total.

These funds will be allocated to having trophies made for 1st,2nd and 3rd as well as cover their courier fees from the trophy maker and to the winners. It's likely we won't see much left after that expense so in all likelihood there will be no purse money allocated to the winners.

    all....four?

understood that you have extra Tortini seeds which is cool... but you will need to remove one from your selection as it does give you a bit of an unfair advantage in this competition format.

Correct @GGG you'll need to make a plan. You actually already have snuck an advantage by having 4 seedlings to select the best 3 from.

Willing to let you continue unless there are a number of disputes from fellow competitors...

Hi Everyone, might be a stupid question, but must I edit my grow diaries when adding new content or just comment on the post?

Grow reports are allocated for completed grows. To help others decide whether they would like to grow out the same strain or not. It's basically a summary of a diary with all the data collected presented in a single report.

For grow diaries you want to start a diary here https://www.420sa.co.za/forum/42-grow-diaries/

This is where you log a grow that you have on the go.

Have a look at the other guys diaries to get an idea of how it works

    Hey All,

So I dropped my beans on the 8th May into some damp tissue inside a container using plain ol tap water

I gave them 4 days inside the damp tissue ,the roots grew uniformly and were around 2cm when I transplanted them last night.

This is a picture of them this morning in plain coco peat, recovered and starting to enjoy the small 18w LED tube above.

Good to see your diary going!

Please don't forget to upload your pics. You were actually meant to document it on the day. Please make sure you read all rules carefully

Looking good. Really good price on the perlite too.

If only you could enter the comp, you'd have the chance of wining an awesome LED light! 😄

At least your light will keep the ladies warm this winter 🙂

The HID's certainly will be helping with some heat. Gets cold at night here.

I'm also more than happy to be donating my hard earned money to our good friend Eishkom. They deserve it...

  6. All 3 successfully germed and now in pots. They're in a 1.5m x 1.5 veg tent - under a 400w MH. I'm old school 👴 but envy those lovely LED's you all have going

As mentioned the soil for the seedlings is a very simple straight forward mix of equal parts EWC, Coco and perlite (being mixed in the pic below). I added about half a teaspoon of myco to that. I'm sourcing my EWC (earth worm castings) from a local supplier called Davley Organics. Organics Matter used to be my go to supplier for EWC but he moved to PTA sometime in 2019. Wasn't happy about that.😥

I managed to find a supplier in my area today selling 125L bags of perlite for 250 bucks. KAK CHEAP!

The beans are joining 2 other @Totemic strains in my veg tent at the moment. A Cherry Gelato CBD Fem and Choc Gelato Fem which will go into flower soon and free up some more space. I intend to start a separate thread on these 2 strains to update on their progress. They're in good shape.

Will update again once the seedlings break ground

  7. Plenty of good suggestions above but if you looking to save some bucks consider purchasing from fans.co.za. They're essentially wholesalers and there's a good chance the TD and TD silent will be a lot cheaper than the hydro stores. I don't know how it is nowadays but it certainly used to be that way a few years back.

If you interested, just email them for pricing. Courier can be arranged

  9. Beans transferred into cotton pads after a 24h soak

Placed the container with the beans in a humidity dome which is sitting on a heat pad. Will keep watching for taproots. Once the taproots appear the beans will go into pots

Why not join the party? The more, the merrier 😁

    Going hydro? 🥰

    Gonna go organic.

The seedlings are gonna be in a soil with equal parts of coco, EWC and perlite. I prefer using peat moss over coco but am only able to get hold of some next week and the seeds will need to be in soil before then.

For veg I'll use the same mix as the seedlings with a few amendments added.

Just before the switch I'll be transplanting into my own soil mix which I'll be mixing next week. Cutting it a bit short in terms of allowing the soil enough time to cook but I should be okay.

Seeds began their soak at 21h00 last night. They'll be going into cotton wool tonight

From what I remember during the last grow off, was that everyone was on everyone's team - advice and suggestions flowed freely

Even though it's a comp the vibe of the forum doesn't change. Help a brother out 👊

@420SA hats off to you for pulling all this together 💚

Only a pleasure. A huge thanks is owed to you for allowing this to happen. Without your beans, a fair growoff couldn't and wouldn't happen :-meditate Let's hope this growoff does good things for Totemic Cannacraft

Also a big thanks to all our generous sponsors who jumped on board. I still can't believe the value of this prize pool. The generosity among our community is a trend that keeps pleasantly growing, along with the good ganja.
