  1. Yep! No doubt there anymore. The other 2 have also shown to have some serious balls . Totally explains their willingness to adapt and overcome, they pushed through all they had against them. Will be sad giving them the good 'ol snipping. In other news, day 2 of Flower, I'm itching to see the fruits of my labour! They are growing like mad now, loving the extra light and fancy new nutrients. @Prom, I took the dive and got some of that Bio-Heaven. Also got some Top Max today to start adding. Super excited about the next few weeks!
  2. Just a little update on my bag seed growing outside. I fear my initial worries are coming true, not enough light where I've put them so 2 of the 3 actually look to be in pre-flower if not flowering already. I've attached a pic of the 1, I think I see balls, although what looks like white hairs on top. Could do with some assistance on the sex if possible . I suspect these will end up in re-veg if left like this, not sure if they're worth the time and effort anymore.
  3. I decided this would be my last week of Veg. The ladies have popped up a bit and I don't want to risk running out of both pot and tent space . Tomorrow I'll plug in my 3rd light, change the timers over to 12/12, and give them their first shot of BioBloom. I'm quite excited to begin this new phase of learning, I like to believe I've done well this far . Here's a final look at the ladies in their vegetative form! (Sunday 26.09) (Thursday 30.09) (Friday 01.10)
  4. Damn, that's cool. Just some regular LST? . This makes me feel like I did a proper shit job
  5. Is this a product of "Mainlining"?
  6. A part of me hoped I'd come here and be told I'm being paranoid, I had no idea people were dipping in sulpher/sugar/GLASS... I thought the khat and heroine laced weed of Oppi Koppi would top the list forever. It's some dodgy weed, I'll certainly not be smoking it again . Thanks for all the horror stories!
  7. Realized tonight that I never responded here. I've attached Pics for those still interested (Apologies for quality, these were sent to me). My guess is that either something was used during flower for pests or mildew and wasn't cleaned correctly. Either that or the nutrients being used need a serious flush and this guy just doesn't flush at all . I've also come across something called PGR's (Plant Growth Regulators), scary to think it could be that. This same friend got some "AAA Grade" from the same guy, paid only R50, the weed wasn't "Sparky" like the last batch but had a terrible chemical taste to it and very heavy on the throat and chest. Doesn't seem healthy to me, my poor mate must think I'm jealous because he walked in with big smiles and I had nothing nice to say about it after the smoke
  8. Hey guys and gals, interested in your opinion here. A friend of mine brought some weed over to my place, it looked great, smelled great and got me pretty baked. It's definitely indoor, but the guy was selling this particular batch for only R20/g. In normal circumstances one would jump for joy and buy a KG of the stuff, right? I can't even grow it for that price! We smoked through a pipe mostly and what's concerning was how this stuff was popping and sparking, like those little firework sparklers just less dramatic. Very odd, it wasn't seeds or stems, when the seller was asked about it he said the bud had too much "Calyx". This just seems like something you would say to someone who doesn't understand the anatomy of the plant to get them to stop asking questions, and actually has me concerned about said friends health . Whats your thoughts? Am I being paranoid?
  9. @donnob, I appreciate the input, dude! I think I'll give them another week or 2 and re-evaluate.I don't plan to SCROG this time around and I'm aware of the stretch that happens, at this stage they could quadruple in height and still be okay. Plants are roughly 25cm high from soil. My thoughts were to have that reach about 35cm and begin flower, but that would also require me to now stop tying them down and actually start letting them naturally grow otherwise they just become wider. I'm a little conflicted and have been hoping for one of those "when you know, you know" moments .
  10. Thanks man! Don't come cause bad juju here with your question mark after "ladies" I'm thinking it might still be a few weeks until flip. They've got very little height to them. Once I'm happy with the training and branches seem to be growing in the right direction I'll let them get a bit taller and then flip, I rate. What's your opinion or suggestion?
  11. I've been thinking the growth this week was minimal, having the plants trained you don't have height to use as a reference point . Looking at last weeks pictures here it's quite clear just how much these girls have grown. My methods have caused all the growth of these plants to land up on 1 side of the pots, training this week has been an attempt at rectifying that. Progress is slow but definitely noticeable. My 3 bag seed survivors have been sent to great outdoors. The spot isn't great, it gets some shade throughout the day. I don't have too much faith in them, but I don't plan to watch over them as I do the 3 in my tent. If they don't survive I see it as no loss haha . Interested to see what happens though.

    McMan

Very nice, man! Some great looking plants!
  13. That's a cool looking tool! At first glance I thought you may have a prototype light saber in your possession. Realizing it's basically a Glucometer for your plant didn't make it any less cool though...
  14. Just a quick update for the weekend, nothing too exciting to mention this time around . Ladies are looking happy, got my environment sorted with the change in pots and the added filter. Glad to say that's all working. I also added a passive intake to the tent, simply cut my ducting in half and stuck that in one of the holes with a stocking on the end of it. Seems to be helping quite a bit. I feel bad for having these plants still referred to as numbers, I think it's time they get names... Throw some suggestions in the comments for me DSC#1 DCS#2 DSC#3 Still got the 3 little ones in here. Garden prep happening Monday, think they will be moving outside in the following week
  15. Welcome, Brendon. Keep your hands and feet in the ride at ALL TIMES! It's a wild one! . Good to have you here
  16. @itchylemon, thank you! Yeah their turn around surprised me too. There are so many factors to consider when recreating an "artificial" environment for these plants. My first mistake was trying to save money on soil, will never do that again . Humidity all of a sudden became a problem the last 2 days all because of a change in POTS! Couldn't believe it. But a few changes here and there and all seems sorted. Will update again over the weekend
  17. Damn, that purple fade is beautiful . Looks great
  18. You have definitely landed at the right place! As a newbie myself I can vouch for this great community who I have learnt bucket loads from. Very welcoming to new-comers and always a helping hand when needed. Look forward to some updates on the outdoor Autos
  19. Tonight I gained the courage to transfer my babies into their final pots. I wouldn't suggest LST before your final pot as this definitely complicated the whole situation and made it a lot more time consuming . I'm not sure if others have a different opinion on this Popped in to the local grow shop for some more soil and decided to grab a carbon filter while there. Many people told me that smell would only become a problem when flowering starts but that is definitely not the case here. If I leave my place for a day I come back to a flat smelling like a group of hobbits ripped major bongs throughout the whole place . It was on special and that definitely aided the decision making. Plants looked quite sad when first put in to their new home, but literally 2 hours and they were looking much better. 1 of the 3 are doing something a little strange, leaves are looking somewhat "Folded". Is it possibly just a bit of over-watering? I don't believe it could be heat as temps are consistent between 23-27 and it's only the 1 out of 6 plants. Or am I just being paranoid?? Training and topping is paying off, I'm getting the results i expected. Thought I'd give them a day or 2 before going hard on that again.

    Myns

Damn! If my first grow looks even slightly like this I'll be flippen ecstatic! Nice grow!
  21. @Prom , thank you for the guidance as usual . Always great to hear from you. The 3 leaves that were cut were covering spots I believed needed light. Very interesting to hear of the possibility of killing them from unsterile instrumentation. I think I'm in the clear from using my kitchen scissors but I don't think I'll be doing that again . I have 1 topped, 1 FIM and 1 I have only done the lst on. Definitely going to be interesting to see the difference. The FIM was an accident ironically. I planned to top the last one soon, but I think I'll take your advice and leave it to compare, or maybe figure out "Mainlining" as mentioned
  22. It's been an exciting week! First time Topping, first time doing some LST and first time defoliating (1 leaf off each plant, but still! ). I'm happy with how it's going, these plants have become a lot more "hands-on" which has made it quite interesting, learning curve has gone up a notch. Still just feeding 1ml/lt of Bio-Grow. Trying to find amino booster in my area to add to it. Thanks as always for looking, advice and tips always welcome

    Prom

Do you use this Serenade as a preventative measure or only as treatment?

    Pants

Damn! Thats a proper kak one ... So close! I hope they're recoverable to some extent.
  25. Thanks, man! I feel rather proud of myself . I will only be flowering the 3 bigger plants in here. The smaller 3 will be leaving the tent soon.
