  1. Having a bit more experience in the cultivation since posting this question I am still convinced this was caused by a chemical of sorts. Guessing the what, when and how could go on for ages. My friend is no longer buying this stuff, so my worries of his health are at ease
  2. Looking mighty fine in that flower tent, sir!
  3. @PromIs there any particular reason you don't leave the boveda's in the jar with the bud?
  4. What kind of increments would you aim for? And do you still do the same now in coco?
  5. Wow. That is a big range. Considering 5.5 is 10 times more acidic than 6.5. I noticed big differences in my plants changing my PH by 0.3, surely a change of 1.0 can't be good? Or is Hydro just hugely different to soil in terms of PH?
  6. I find that quite interesting. Is there any point after that where you would put the Boveda back in? Are you watching RH after those 2 weeks? I don't think my RH drops below 62%, as I've left the Boveda's in for the entire time it's stored. Removing a bud or 2 from the jar when needed, but jars all sit in the top of a closed cupboard. Which also makes me doubt it being a light issue (@the_stonedtrooper) Someone told me my issue might be caused by too much moisture? My feelings there are that I'd have mold, not brown weed .
  7. I'm not sure what you mean here? This is interesting. I do think I harvested a little early last time. But same jars, same boveda's. I guess I'll just see how this bud does and take it from there.
  8. Great! Means I can ask questions! What percentage boveda you using? I'm thinking my 62% is too much. Bud from December went a dark brown colour quicker than i think it should have.
  9. That is correct. Still finding my feet I'd say, but super happy with the results I'm getting this far
  10. This whole thread just threw me back to August of last year when I decided to take the dive into growing my own cannabis! Varying opinions, unanswered questions and often, left with more questions than answers. Since then I've had 3 grows with 2 successful harvests. The 1 unsuccessful grow was actually Auto's and the whole experience threw me completely off of them. They seem like a great idea, they grow quick, they stay small, they don't need strict light schedules. How wonderful? Right? Na Bru! Someone mentioned earlier not to sneeze near them, I resonate with that . They are super fussy and definitely require more experience than Photos in my opinion. Now, with that said the best way to learn is to just go for it. 2 things that effected me heavily in the beginning were Soil and PH. Bad soil almost killed my plants. You're already doing better than me here with your good soil. PH was a tricky 1. I was given advice all the way from 5.5 to 6.8 and that is a huge difference in PH. 6.5 worked great for me in soil and I aimed for that every time I watered. You will never get it to exactly 6.5 every time and that's perfectly fine. What I found super helpful in the beginning was directing questions I deemed "urgent" to 1 or 2 specific people. This helped get me the answers I needed and directed me to a specific growing style. 10 different people will give you 10 different answers and all 10 can be correct. This is majorly confusing to someone just starting out. Questions where you hope for opinions are great for groups of people. Not so much when your grow is dying and you need urgent assistance . This forum is filled with amazing grows. You'll do perfectly well getting help from these dudes as I did! Pick your favorite diaries and try copy their style until you find your own. Happy growing dude, and good luck with the Auto's this winter. Excited to see how they turn out for you
  11. This diary is at its end and I'm quite pleased with the results. Dry weight came in at 150g from all 4 plants, I hoped for 200 but we'll get there on the next run hopefully . Trying something new and exciting for this next run with a bunch of different strains, look out for the new diary . Thanks to all who took the time to have a look here and give their input. Always great to hear from others! Much love peeps
  12. My highs and lows on the hygrometer aren't reading properly for some reason but always seems to be around the 18-20° mark when I check.
  13. So I thought my next post would be telling the tale of a chop, yet here we are past the 9 week mark still waiting for them ambers . Thinking this may even stretch to 10 weeks at this rate. Very few amber trichomes on sugar leaves, still some clear on the buds. Will be checking daily from here, I feel I chopped a bit early my last grow and so it's definitely not a mistake I want to make again. I'm seeing even more purple pop through which is an awesome sight to see, bananium just seems to be getting fatter by the day, foxtailing is something new to me too, definitely genetic related.
  14. We're in the final stretch here! Past the 8 week mark, watching the trichomes for chop day. I'm loving the colour this cold weather brings. Seeing the 2 strains react in their own ways to it is interesting too! The Bananium has me really excited at the moment, rather sad though as I wish I had let this girl get bigger. I won't be harvesting much Bananium from this tent, it was the smallest plant in the beginning and could not compete with the stretch of the Deluxe Sugarcane. Overall I'm happy with the turn out. Growing for myself means I get to smoke all this beautiful bud, and boy am I happy with the product! In case you're wondering, the smaller dark plant on the left is Bananium, the other 3 are all Deluxe Sugarcane. Very easy to tell the difference in pictures. Let me hear some comments, things I could maybe improve on for the next grow, I am still such a noob at this!
  15. Possibilities are endless, really. Just another step towards lowering wastage I guess. Pressing some dabs out of it was my initial thought.
  16. I ended up scrapping the idea for now, told myself I'd look in to it for the next harvest but have missed that window already. Maybe the next 1 .
  17. I somehow completely missed the update last week, but here I am 2 weeks later haha. The 2 week gap really shows the progress. Checking on them everyday can sometimes make things seem like they're not doing much. The proof is in the ppudding they say! Bananium showing some nice purples in the leaves, while the Deluxe Sugarcane just gets frostier by the day. DS leaves have gone a very light green weirdly, I remember it doing the seem thing on the last run. The burnt tips of all the plants also resemble the last run, clearly haven't quite figured out the nutes yet. I will get there!
  18. Very interested to see how your phenos come out! *I see you posted pics of the mother above!
  19. Damn, son! This is some fine ass garden you have here, Such a cool variety. That Critical Banana got my attention, the name helps . Plat punch and that bananium look great too.
  20. Another week gone! Ladies are looking pretty good in my opinion. End of Week 5. Now past the half way mark possibly another 4 weeks to go. It's been an interesting grow, have learnt a shit ton all over again. Looking forward to the next batch already! Haha. Been messing around with the camera, cannabis is a great model!
  21. The end of week 4. Shaping up quite nicely. Wish I had got the canopy more even but I'll learn from that! Going to take it a bit easier on the nitrogen me thinks, tips curling on quite a few of them. They need water tonight, pics taken while ladies were thirsty. Bananium: Deluxe Sugarcane: Tent:
  22. I remember the best "hotbox" I'd ever been in. We took 2 black bags, cut down the sides and joined them with some tape. Once joined you can comfortably fit it over 2 people's upper halves. We then sat together on a couch and tucked the ends of the bags under us, lit up a joint and smoked until a point where the was so little air in there that a lighter wouldn't ignite. A bored friend came up with the idea and had me try it out with him, I was afraid, and to this day I think it was fucking dumb, but I'll never forget the amount of laughter and just how high we got off our R30 jut that day!
  23. Another week gone by, quite happy with the progress
  24. Damn! Looking good, man! Nitrogen is needed in every stage of growth, I believe it's quite the misconception to think no nitrogen is needed at later stages of life. It is a very dark green though, maybe just the strain? Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will chime in on that.
