Hey Guys,
I decided to do a "Sober October" as my tolerance break (got the idea from the Joe Rogan Experience). So no smoking or drinking for this month for me...
Was wondering, when did you take your last tolerance break and for how long did you go??

Interesting points of view all around... Since I actually planned to start my grow in October, I'm gonna give it a go nevertheless as everything lined up perfectly for me...
Happy growing all

To me it has to do with the moons gravitational effects on water. Full moon draws water up to the surface, and surely affects water in plants too. I plant by the moon, and have found that germination is quicker, seedlings stronger when I plant at full moon compared to any other time of the month.
All anecdotal of course. Just part of my seasonal routine. The next full moon is 1 October, and I'll be dropping my first outdoor beans then.
Full moon around the corner, can't wait to drop my seeds for my first serious try at growing... Have a great season

@CreX Thanks for the response bru - much appreciated...
I was a little desperate since the weekend, so this what I did:
Because the leaves were feeling a bit heavy/soggy, I didn't water for a few days - thought it was being over watered...
I then defoliated the big fan leaves and older leaves that were dropping...
Yesterday I mixed some BioBizz Nutrients that I just bought (grow and bloom) and watered accordingly.
After a little while she perked up nicely.
This is what she's looking like now...

Hey guys. I started this cookies-bagseed, outdoor grow in potting soil in July. Used nitrosoil and seagro during veg. Haven't been using nutes for the past couple of weeks since they finished. Over the past couple of days I've noticed that the big fan leaves and the bottom sets of leaves on my plant began drooping. But this morning the leaves look really depressing... (picture below)
Please help me identify the problem and possibly solutions...

@DamDave I had this happen to a blue dream I grew. The plant ended up topping itself and I had 2 main colas...

@Totemic thanks for your input Quickfollowup question:
On the 1 October (next full moon), would you begin to germinate your seeds (in water/paper towel), OR would you be planting the already germinated seeds into the grow medium?? I'm trying to identify the optimum time according to the moon to germinate my seeds...

Hi, I plant according to the moon. I germinate my seeds on fullmoon since a few years and had only one dud ever since. Not sure if I was just lucky or if the moon had an influence on that. I like the idea that the moon has an effect on the plants. Plus it's for free, so there's nothing to loose doing it.
As far as I know there's little to none studies done on that topic to back up that it actually works.
I come from a family of farmers and my forefathers all planted according to the moon and were convinced that it is beneficial.
I've heard of the "farmer's almanac" that's been used by generations of farmers...

What about outdoor grows for those that don't have indoor growing facilities.. just saying

Sup guys.
Has anyone here heard of and/or dabbled in gardening by the different phases of the moon?
Just wanted to hear your thoughts and experiences and learn if there's any truth behind this or if it's just superstition.
Peace...

Hey Guys. I just wanted to end this thread by say a big Thank You for all of the advice and guidance in helping me get ready for my spring grow
My orders just got delivered. I settled on the Freedom Farms soil, Biobizz nutes and the Jiffy starter plugs.
I received my seeds from Bud Buddies. Super lemon haze and purple urkle photoperiods and a few autos.
All set and ready to go
Wish everyone a great growing season ahead...

Both the pellets should work for germination.
We are growing perpetual outdoor basically, I reuse all my soil.
Growing chillies, grenadilla, guavadilla, sweet pototoes and tomatoes.
Do batches of about 500lit every 3-4 months, amend with bonemeal, dolomite lime, composted manure and own compost(and whatever else looks good)and let cook for 3 months.
It can be done if you prepared to swing a spade and sweat a bit.
Our plants are happy.

Would also recon no difference really,
Only when you have rockwool cubes, like I do, then you dont want to go into soil, or they dry differently and cause issue, as the rockwool is more for hydroponics.
Got it

The Premium will not last long and a second run without ammendments will not work unless you use it as a plain coco medium and go with the Biobizz range from the start ( I haven't used Biobizz as yet), other members need to advise cause if you amend with worm castings and compost it might work.
Are you able to buy new soil and start from scratch?

Hey guys. I have been looking at the Jiffy pellets to propagate my seedlings, and I noticed that there are 2 types.
One is the Jiffy pellet made from sphagnum peat, whilst the other is Jiffy C Coir pellet.
Does it matter which pellet option I choose if my final medium is going to be organic living soil??
Your advice is appreciated as always...

Thanks for the advice guys@GGG @afternoon blazer @StickyD420
I'm gonna buy new living soil cos this is my first organic grow. I just wanted to see what options I had for next time around...
If the soil quality is not compromised, it might be cheaper to reuse this living soil for a second run. But I have some time until I reach that stage so I will research this a bit further...
