Yeah, the first few times were certainly more intense sometimes felt a bit trippy. Like the colour of everything going a bit sepia in a way and having the giggles.

Why does that stop? Why does it go away? The stuff I was smoking back then cannot compare to the quality of the stuff which I am growing now.

Is it tolerance? Does one get use to it? Are the strains we're growing and smoking now just missing something?

I know what you saying, the none stop giggles are gone... Stop smoking for a week. I tried and got 2 days, but the high was 2 weeks young if that make sense lol.

Just a little update here on the ladies under the 50w.

Leaves are all shiney cause they got another Phyta and BioNeem treatment right before picture was taken.

Wow bru, im actually heavily impressed with that 50w, How far from the plants do you have it sitting bud?

    Nice one!

  3. All very good stories! Many similarities to mine.

Also grew up in a very religious household, and still am very much religious. more so than before I reckon.

I was quite a late bloomer, started at a mates 17th birthday. Had a bong of chronic as it were to start my experience, and what an experience it was. I thought I had entered the realm of hard drugs to be honest lol. Most vivid sort of a trance I've ever had, and it didn't help with my mates flickering the lights on and off while making weird noises (back when I thought demons came from weed) but I was soon to find out where the real demons were actually lurking. Man i'm loving all these positive messages.

So yes! I too have been around all kinds and i'm a real advocate of how good this humble plant can be for people, I found that during my struggling times for me and my family, the simple goofed evenings brought me a new found understanding of religion and painted a way better picture than I could on my own. Some would call that blasphemy, I would tell them to get ducked. 🦆

All this being said, I have also come to believe all things in moderation. So I have always smoked weed in teeny tiny amounts, because "DAM some shit is straanggg''! Smoked dabs once, and never again. each to their own.

I started growing my own weed because I noticed some weed taste good and other weed didn't really. So here I am on the journey to create the tastiest weed I hope.

    Very happy heart'd topic @PsyCLown

    Hi everyone,

my soil is cooking (first time I made my own super soil) and I read up on the layering part. Subcool recommended to layer the soil and put a layer of super soil into the bottom of the container and cover it with regular soil. Background is not to burn the roots of the young plants during early stages of their life.

After reading some forum posts on other growing forums I saw that many growers do not layer their soil and still have decent outcomes.

What is your take on it? Do you layer your soil mix or do you think it's not really necessary?

Hey bro! Hope this Sunday morning started with a spark 🔥😬

I layer mine. Hot mix at the bottom. And I let it “cook” for about 5-6 weeks, I leave it in the garage. Still get nice and steamy in there. The next round will be sitting for longer so should be just better as Tote explains. If you do layer your mix. Try remember this, the roots will only engulf the mix once they seek the nutrition. Usually during flowering. So make sure to have a mix suitable for flowering. So lowish on the N spectrum. If you going for veg and flower in the mix. The recipe and layering strategies will need some tlc

    good luck bro!

  5. Love this thread! This is something small for veg. Draw watt should be about 225w so I would think I’m getting around 100w true. But could be completely off so will keep updating as to how it grafts 🙌🏻 Simple and easy to put together...

So i have been fiddling around for house hold shit to adjust ph in a emergency situation.

For example i need to water today. But only able to get the ph up and down next week.

    So wanted a quick fix.

Tried the lemon juice. Made a small difference in colour.

So until i get the proper stuff. Will use this quick fix for now.

Doesnt get it 100 percent . But an improvement is always a good thing.

ahh I see, ya bru to be honest if you have everything in the soils and not feeding nutes. It should be able to balance itself out regardless. so don't stress too much. I would say just water with the standing water, it will be fine. My ph and Tds pens have since died and now I couldn't be bothered with all that testing and retesting and over and over, headaches.

Use water out of the tap and be done with it, no need to let it stand.

The one is a fungicide, the other an insecticide.

I have never used vegol myself, seems to be mainly canola oil...

    What pests do you have?

My understanding that water straight out of the tap works but can be counter-productive for the beneficial micro-organisms in the soil and phylloshere. If you relying on them to feed your plant, then you gotta think about it. If you are feeding you plant with synthetic nutes, then it doesn't matter.

However, I've been wrong before. and Ill be wrong again, I suppose its all part of learning.

Yes the roots will have no use for it but the study concluded more organic matter was produced when they increased the concentration of latex sap. they used worms and from what i understand, 200g per KG of soil is a shit load of aloin.

My conclusion that I made up above is incorrect i think, I haven't read this research article in a while. Must have imagined what I wanted to hear lol.

Well, I'm not too sure on this, but plants dont absorb enzymes from the soil, but produce all the proteins they need internally. Plant roots readily supply the soil with sugars so perhaps they would leech enzymes too.

Microbes in the soil make use of enzymes to chelate ions, making them absorbable by the plant. Most of these enzymes are created by the microbes as their means of digesting the organic matter.

So what are you trying to do, flood the medium with enzymes, or get the microbes to produce more of them?

Get the microbes to produce more available nutrients for the roots... Just a thought, and I don't fully understand the process so learning where I can.

  11. Here one for the chem boff's. I went down this rabbit hole for weeks during lockdown, eventually came across a study where it was said that the aloin in the aloe ferox increased the OM dramatically. But may be detrimental to the microbes due to its ability to change the genetic makeup over time. Possibly rendering them mutated in ways.

I've been toying with the idea for so long now. But the dosages could be highly detrimental.

Bitter crytals extracted from aloe ferox (yellow sap/not inner leaf)  is known to hold the highest variety of amino acid profiles as far as Aloe goes, 34 to be exact. So complex, it will make you shit yourself (literally, its a powerful laxative)

So the idea is not having so much of these compounds that the rhizosphere explodes in OM and come to a screeching halt, because well, everything is dead.

But rather, a teeny tiny small amount to switch on or chelate further those oh so necessary amino acid profiles.

My thoughts are to signal these enzymes to switch on.

Normally these crystals come in little lip balm containers and directions for use are 1 small crystal dissolved in water daily.

Some people say it causes cancer and other praise it for being an absolute miracle.

anybody care to share some thoughts?

Wanted to know if i should ph my mixture wen spraying insecticide and if so wat ph should I use. Growing with coco/perlite/seedling mix of 3-2-1 and about 1 parts worm casting. I do add small amounts of rock phosphate, dolomite lime, bone meal, turbo grow and diatomaceous but small amounts as im not 100% sure. Using bio-bizz nutes. Sprinkle some mycroot under seed or b4 transplanting as well.

Which is the better between the two insecticide I posted, I have both on hand.

    Howzit going brother!

I wouldn't ph the water you use for either, rather let the water sit for 24h and it will balance itself as the unwanted chemicals evaporate. I have not had any experience with either product, but I recommend less is more.

It’s like they aren’t drinking and look weak, a real downer at the moment! This morning when I fed them grow and bloom at a 1/4 feed they were also wilting, after the feed they picked up their leave but a few hours later dropped again🤯😢 I’m stumped and can only think it’s PH. I had my PH at 6.5 but I’ll drop that to 5.8 ish and add microb my next watering and pray to the growing gods.

Hey bud, If you maybe seeing some tips burning, could be that the nutrient is getting locked out. skip a couple of feeds and just give them Ph'd water (water that's sitting for 24h). Seen lockout occur when leaves claw, until they cant anymore and burn upwards. Not sure what the regiment is like, so ya just some input.

@afternoon blazerneed you to show me how to wire them together so I don’t have to make 2 plugs lol? They just straight connect. So could I bridge them bud?
