  1. That's a valid concern. Sorry for not cautioning you about it first. Sure man, I like watching other grows so I'll sub as well. Sent from my POCOPHONE F1 using Tapatalk
  2. Thanks man... Hopefully he comes along with some info. I've vegged and flowered a tree with just the led plate in the middle when I ran my microgrow. I haven't tried to use these older lights in a bigger box so I'm not too sure what to expect in terms of if they're going to give me leafy, stretched out growth. 3. And thank you, its much appreciated [emoji1374] Sent from my POCOPHONE F1 using Tapatalk
  4. Haha, sometimes the best solutions are the easiest ones... I'm not too sure about the DWC boxes bro, maybe you could use like a half brick or 2 stacked up at each corner of the cooler. Doesn't need to be a brick, but that's the first thing that came to mind. Lol Lol, thanks man. I had to get a bit creative. The kebab sticks actually saved me because I couldn't find the thin tie wire I normally use for training, just that green soft tie. I find it doesn't hold the tree as firm as I'd like. I'm still trying to decide if I want to continue using them like that or go back to tying the tree to itself... Both work well. Sent from my POCOPHONE F1 using Tapatalk
  5. Yeah I've seen this done often when I searched on how to keep a bonsai as well. Not just cannabis, root pruning other bonsai's are a regular practice and really helps keep the tree alive much longer. Its hard to watch a tree being handled like that but they spring back stronger than ever. I've tried the smart pots, honestly I think it would be almost impossible to get root bound in them - from my experience. Sent from my POCOPHONE F1 using Tapatalk
  6. If anyone wants to catch up on how I got here, here's a link to a thread I started in which I documented the start of this grow as well. https://forum.grasscity.com/threads/ethos-genetics-grow-here-we-go.1569392/#post-25209148 It links to one of my journals on the site that documents the rest of the grow up to this point. You can drop any questions you have on the process here. I'll be updating them both so you can just catch up there and watch this space to see the progress. Thanks for the support. Happy Growing! 8. Greetings everyone. I'll keep this one relatively short. I have a 60cm x 60cm x 120cm DIY grow box that I want to setup for vegging to hopefully get a perpetual grow going. I can't buy a new light right now so I've put something together with what I had on hand (including a timer) These are the lights wattages; LED plate: 1 x ~48w actual (Chinese UFO Blurple) White LED bulbs: 2 x 9w Osram 6500k LED bulbs: 2 x ~28w actual (red+blue+white+UVA+IR) Do you think this would be enough to veg 2-4 trees for 5-6 weeks? I could also veg 2 trees and use the rest of the space for cloning or keeping a bonsai mother.
  9. Hey man, I know this is way too late, but I have something that may help if you still want to try keeping a bonsai mother. Here's 2 links; 1 in which I had a bonsai mother for a while, and another in which I rooted some clones. I took them after the 1st week of 12/12 but you can take cuttings once they reach about 4 or 5 nodes. https://forum.grasscity.com/threads/bonsai-mother-ethos-genetics-inzane-in-the-membrane.1551816/ I talk about how I avoided getting root bound and unfortunately I couldn't keep the tree any longer but if you keep feeding it at half strength every few days she will last a very long time. Fabric pots really work well with these type of trees and will save you with regards to maintenance. Although you should replace bonsai mothers every year or so if I remember correctly. https://forum.grasscity.com/threads/harvested-nirvana-blue-dream-indoor-grow-nebulas-manifold.1548198/page-4 The clones in this link took about 10 days to root due to having been exposed to 12/12 lighting. I didn't update on them but they turned out fine and I gave them to a friend.
  10. I'm running a 240w COB fixture (120w veg mode which is a slightly higher K spectrum; ~3195k; due to bloom switch controlling the orange and red supplementals as well as 2 COBs). It's the Hipargero HG800, and I have it in a 70cm x 70cm tent.
  11. Cool, thank you so much. I've been on the fence with this for ages. I've just decided to go without it because it didn't really have any advantages for me. Would be interesting to see how yours develops Sent from my POCOPHONE F1 using Tapatalk
  12. Greetings 420 Fam! Decided to grow again due to being stuck at home so I thought I'd share what's going on with you guys. So I've been growing these 2 strains since about the last week of March. They are; Black Fire & Inzane in the Membrane, both by Ethos Genetics. I started the grow long before I became a member here so if you guys want to check it out, I have a link to the journal to catch up so far, and links to previous grows that you'll find in the grow reports as well. I'll try to update progress on here as often as I can. Anyway, I transplanted them into 5L smart pots for vegging on the 6th of April and watered them (no nutes) shortly after the transplant. The water was at 66 ppm with a pH ~6.25. They didn't seem to experience any obvious transplant shock and it's all going smoothly so far. These trees are 3 days into their 5th week of vegging (excl seedling stage - very 1st week) They've received 2 sets of toppings and growth from the 1st node was removed - I'm manifolding these trees also using some skewers and soft tie wire to train them flat. Each tree has about 8-12 main tops right now but it's a bit untidy - they're due for a defoliation later today. Feeding strengths have been around 500pm for early veg and I'm increasing it to around 700ppm for the next week of veg before flipping to 12/12. The Inzane (om the right) seems to be outgrowing her company but I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem, I can always prop one plant up if needed. Will run 2 of the same strains next time to use the space more effectively. The last picture is a few days older but it gives you a more clear view of how I used the skewers to train the trees. Questions and suggestions are welcomed. Enjoy!
  13. Did you end up keeping your tree in the dark for 48hrs? What did you find? I've tried it and honestly I don't see what the hype is about. I feel like it just pushes out a bunch of immature trichomes. Sent from my POCOPHONE F1 using Tapatalk
  14. I use some pretty heavy HST along with LST and mainlining to grow my trees. I can't afford to waste space.
  15. For a single medium size tree, or a few smaller ones, it's worth it. I felt it was fine, but I know I could've gotten more out of it because I was learning how to grow and experimenting with different training methods at the time when I did pull a harvest out of it. My first all-in grow started off in this box but the tree got too big for it so I ended up buying a tent. If I finished a grow in this 60cm x 60cm box, I estimate I would've came out with about 160g. The tent she moved into is 70cm x 70cm and I ended up getting 204g dry in the end.
  16. The metal heat sink isn't grounded. I suspect there's a stray charge somewhere that finds a ground whenever you touch it. Not sure if this is just because of how the light is made or if its defective. Sent from my POCOPHONE F1 using Tapatalk
  17. Hahaha bro, this reminds me so much of my first DIY setup... She will serve you well. You just need to make sure no light gets in through the top or you might mess up your flowering cycle. Happy growing, and all the best!
  18. Thank you guys for the hospitality, and for the kind words. Here we Grow!
  19. Glad to finally be a part of the 420SA Fam!

  20. Greetings 420 Fam! So, I am The Ultimate Noob. I've been growing for just over 2 years I think and I've learnt a lot over the time. I'm an active member of Grasscity Forums and help many people with their grows, also receiving advice on some of mine. A lot of the people I help are from various countries so it's nice hearing tips from all over the world. Oh, and I love mainlining my trees. I pride myself on growing good bud and taking amazing pictures of it. I've got limited space right now but that's all set to change if things go well. Here's a few pictures of some bud I grew in the past so you know what's in store for you guys with the grows that are to come. Enjoy!
  21. So here goes my attempt... This is my previous grow, I have the link to the journal if anyone is interested in checking it out. Just a small home grow of some Blue Dream netting me 204g off a single tree in a 70cm sq tent. Included some Trichome shots taken just about 3 days before harvest. Enjoy
  22. Greetings. I made this account specifically to ask you this, lol. Could I maybe message you to find out how you went about ordering these and getting them to SA? Also just a few other questions about the process. I've been wrecking my mind on getting these kits for a few months now and can't seem to decide.
