  1. Hi guys,

So my initial plans were to cross 4 of my best cuts with a Safety Meeting male (electric watermelon x 9lb Hammer) and a Pineapple Skunk male.

    Gorilla Girl

    Sweet Orange Cookies

    Wedding Cake

    Amnesia

All these cuts were individually selected from their respective packs over the years. Breeding was to be done in an indoor breeding chamber(1m x 1m tent). After some setbacks in other parts of my garden and not been able to slow the gals growth down, they ended up too big for the chamber. Between this and me obtaining some proper breeding stock for a more exciting project, I decided to carryout the breeding outdoors. Out of the 6pack of Safety Meeting I only found 1 male and the rest where gals. Out the pineapple skunk all were female. I was disappointed at first but the one male that I did find has really caught my eye. He just sticks out of the crowd of plants. He has great structure, stinky stem rub, short internodal spacing and doesn't stretch alot in flower. Couple this with the fact that his 5 sisters that are currently in flower are absolute 🔥 . They portraying 2 different phenos that I'm going to have to eventually take them to the final smoke test to see who gets to stay. Unfortunately I was not able to flower the male out and harvested him for his pollen when he was like 3 weeks into flowering because didn't want him seeding everything. I manually pollinated 2 plants

    Greetings buddy.

Have you tried spraying with a milk/water mix 50/50 ratio?

Since I joined 420sa I've come across a few guys mention spraying milk to fight PM. I brushed it off cos I didn't see how it could work... up until about 2 weeks ago... a few of my more susceptible outdoor strains had some PM appear on them. I was kind of happy cos I got a chance to try the milk method. If it was to work I could adopt this method indoors if ever I have PM issues.

Long story short... 2 sprays over 4 days has seemed to work better then I expected. The milk leaves a shiny residue on the leaves and seems to have kept the PM at bay. Today was really hot and now's its pouring with rain and is quite cool... I'm expecting to see some PM appear and I'm already mentally prepared to spray again.

The part I love the most about the milk spray is it doesn't turn white pistils brown compared to spraying with things like bicarb, h2o2, etc.

@Mambawana  have you ever sent her bud to the lab to get analyzed.

Mine tested out at about 3:1 ratio, very high in the CBD.

What breeders advertise concerning CBD and what the lab test says is usually a lot different.

Still very hard to lock down high cbd traits with breeding.

I agree. It's just not possible for breeders to be able to lock down on the stated 1:1 & have it show itself across the board.

Haven't ever sent any of my stuff to a lab. I've been thinking of buying one of the test kits to assist more for selection purposes, just not sure which one would be the best buy.

I tried sending you a PM but there seems to be an issue with my phone or the mobile site as it says 'cannot send message to dank'😂.

I wanted to tell you about what's happening on the breeding side of things for me and some plans for the near future.

When the messenger feature decides to work I will elaborate

    🔥🔥🔥...

  4. Guys for anyone interested, I found an amazing 1:1 cbd pheno. I couldn't understand this strain at first. Breeder stated +-6%CBD/THC. It feels like it's hitting you hard. What it actually does is gives your complete body a mild anaesthetic. Takes all my pain away. Even a tooth ache I had. It smells like pink grapefruit. Tastes like green apples/grapes. Yields great and fades like a beaut. I entered a pic of her in the January competition.

Calling to all those that have something to share. Let's start sending each other some cuts like this gal.

I'm running her outdoor as well atm to see how she fairs.

  5. I don't grow autos not because of its lower yield but because of its mediocre quality in comparison to AAA. The yield part is an easy fix.... larger plant count.

Nevertheless it has its place and potential. Treat it well. Feed it moderately and you can get it to shimmer and shine✌✌✌

On a side note, does anyone else get an allergic reaction from working with weed? my skin starts getting itchy, then hives. goes away in a day.

Probably irratation caused by the serrated edges of the leaves. Happens to my wife when she helps with defoliation. ✌

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I don't see you overcoming this issue. These plants are still in early flower and look as if they have bad resistances against PM. Please don't take this the wrong way or be demoralized.

As a last ditch attempt defoliate your plants quite aggressively. Remove every leaf and bud that has any signs of PM on it. Lollipop the bottoms higher then usual. And fingers crossed for some dry weather.

I've seen a product available at hydroponic.co.za that apparently can be used in flower to kill PM and other pathogens. It's expensive something like 500 for 1 litre and it comes diluted already. Maybe look more into it or maybe someone here might have used it already can advise.

Judging by the severity of your PM issue I'm guessing your plants are well into flowering phase. Firstly you should immediately stop treating issue with neem oil as that stuff is vile and is going to make your buds taste bad.

I've personally used bicarb and it does keep PM at bay but requires almost daily spraying till harvest. The downside is it kills the white pistils too and gives the bud an unattractive look to it.

Post some pics and give us more info and maybe we can help you get your grow to harvest.

Firstly well done on pushing through all those issues towards the finish line. I'm excited for you and the plans for your next grow. You going to find controlling the climate alot easier. That gavita is gonna rock the party.

I haven't argued this because I don't have a LED but a few guys here have stated that their LEDs yield better then a 1000W in a 1.2m x 1.2m area. Seeing as you would soon have used high end options on both your findings will surely surprise a few... just not me😎

My gardens are doing well. So far I've found the blue cheese having the strongest structure of all the Barneys Farm genetics I'm running.

In here I have 2 critical kush, 3 triple cheese, 3 blue cheese, 3 gorilla zkittles... All by Barneys Farm. I also have 3 gorilla cbds by dinafem.

This room is at day 18. All I want out of this room is 1 cheese keeper. The rest will be discontinued regardless of their end result.

    This is why🔥🔥🔥

All the guys are correct about too intense light or heat causing foxtailing.

Your case is a little different. The colas on the side of the tent which probably are not directly under the light are foxtailing as well so it's not too intense light. The leaves on top of colas show that they have just a little heat stress.

Now look at overall health of plants... they suffering from nute burn. That could be the reason for the foxtailing. Autos are sensitive feeders... lower your feeding strength

    Update.....

they send me the veg nutes breakdown.

    N- 20%
    P- 17%
    K- 29%
    Ca - 15%
    Mg - 2%
    B - 0.03%
    Zn - 0.004%
    Mo - 0.001%

This is for the veg part of the nutes

Look at the nutrient breakdown. Besides the obvious incorrect npk, look at the calcium to phosphorus ratio. Not even the top nutrient companies in the world are able to put that amount of phosphorus and calcium together in a concentrate without causing precipitation.

@Prom more K then N is correct for all stages of the cannabis life. Yes the plant needs plenty N in veg but not more then K. P is the issue in this mix. And the ratio you mentioned it could be is more realistic.

Another quick observation, there's no Iron(Fe) in this, which is the micronutrient needed in highest quantity.

So yes there's something fishy about these nutrients.

Post a pic of the whole gear, I could go through a sure way of you testing the different components.

It could be something small like the live and neutral shorting on top of the igniter as they are terminated very close to each other.

Edit: And don't forget to post pics of your gals too...

If memory serves, if it's the ignitor, you can still fire up HPS, only MH won't start up. Any electrical shop should be able to supply.

If the capacitors start moving below the 5% tolerance of its standard microfarad rating then it will battle to start HPS and start MH alot easier.

If ignitor is faulty then it will not start any lamp.

    Good day all

I bought a 600w magnetic ballast about 9 months ago. With all the loadshedding it has started tripping the mains. It's definitely the ballast as I've unplugged everything and tried it in a socket in my kitchen.

I've been told it's probably the ignitor but where can I find a replacement part? My Google search has not helped find it locally.

Any help on where to find the part locally would be greatly appreciated.

Dude sad to say this but if it's tripping the feed circuit breaker then its the magnetic ballast that's blown.
