Hi DamDave Unfortunately the classifieds are not available on Tapatalk anymore. The Classifieds board you have been trying to post to is being phased out and is not taking any further submissions. That is the most likely cause for the failed upload. We now have a dedicated Classifieds area HERE but you will need to access it on your phone's browser and not Tapatalk.

I can't prove it with any chemical analysis but I wouldn't trust their gas as being impurity free. Newport claims to be almost impurity free so even their butane isn't 100% impurity free but it's the best on our local market for the purpose. If you're not using a vacuum chamber then you're putting yourself at even more risk. All those impurities have a decent chance of ending up in your lungs unfortunately. From face value Alva is a low end, relatively cheap butane available in SA, I wouldn't trust it personally. Don't panic though, who knows it may be good enough, but for peace of mind I would just stick with Newport from now on. At least they claim its almost impurity free. The other butane suppliers in this country don't.

So with our very interesting/suspicious tobacco ban currently in place, I can't find a single store stocking Newport butane. My local spar always stocks it but since this tobacco ban they aren't allowed to sell it. The ban is ridiculous enough but this is really not making any sense by any stretch of reason. Along with the ban on bloody rolling papers Look NDZ, I know you and Mazotti are coining it large but us stoners need our butane and rolling papers, it won't affect your oversized pockets

True that. Once it dries though its damn hard to get wet, very hydrophobic initially. Have you found that? Not a big deal but something to consider if your soil has dried out. When trying to water the dry soil it can lead to pockets of soil staying completely dry. So best not let the soil dry out, which you shouldn't do anyway

When you say garden soil I assume you mean garden master, culterra and all that shite. By all means don't use that soil. You won't find a good soil for cannabis at most nurseries or builders warehouse. You'll need to look to a grow shop for a commercially available soil for cannabis, that works. I mix my own and every grower should have a crack at mixing their own soil at some time in their growing. You may find yourself not turning back

I've found that my re-used soil seems even more alive than the initial soil. Like you say the micro-organisms cultivate as you let the used soil sit. I take all my used soil, throw it all together in a semi open container outside, chuck in a few earthworms and let nature do its wonder work

Controversial one that... sterilizing an organic soil is the last thing I would suggest to be honest. I would rather suggest using an IPM to control any pests or bad fungus. Depends on your preferences of course but personally I feel sterilizing the soil is setting you back

I've had good results reusing my living soil without feeding. I didn't re-amend as well... but it depends on the soil of course @SkunkPharm is spot on

Happy to be corrected but isn't a true cannabis cup a competition where a breeder submits new strains/cultivars they've been working on for judging? I've noticed a few entities running "Cannabis Cups" in SA and none have stuck true to how they run it overseas. Has a proper cannabis cup been run in SA yet? I thinks it's time for us to get a proper cannabis cup going in SA where we find out who is breeding the best strains in the country. I reckon it will do wonders for developing the breeding industry in SA. They'll get exposure, validation of their genetics etc. Can't think of a better situation where we are relying on local breeders and not so much on the breeders from the US and Europe.
