    Ey my bad🤣Youtube or Die😬

@PsyCLown apologies for diverting from the subject. Feel free to clear up.

With plants that size, the scale of things change dramatically. For instance, instead of looking for thrips, i look for moths and beetles🤣 Also to mention that i find these big outdoor plants much more resilient/forgiving than a smaller indoor type strain.  Hand watering is a fucken bitch though, which takes me at least a hour for each watering and that is every 2nd or 3rd day, depending on temps. Not even to mention the harvest. I used to get naar after spending 6+ hours trimming buds😬  But in the end, all the hard work is more than worth it.

I personally find immense satisfaction in seeing a tiny seedling grow into a monster tree. It all comes with the territory🔥

@Weskush I'm sommer replying here because I'm always starting different conversations on peoples threads 🤣

But regarding them trees, don't you struggle with PM or rot mid-late flower with plants that big ?

  2. Oh I remember these videos,  Yeah its lekker seeing plants that big but I personally would not like to manage even one plant that size. I get anxiety just thinking about cleaning off the inside of those cages and inspecting them not to mention having to watch them go through a heavy storm 😆

Tbh I thought you were going to link a pic 🤣

     it's a business

    Exactly this.

GHS was the original hype in my opinion 🤣  Arjan basically founded the American weed culture of hype sells, get some rappers/singers that are popular to name drop it and it will sell

edit: I don't dislike them or anything, have never really grown anything from them. But I do love watching their strain hunter shows for fun and would like to try out their stuff. Would def buy a pack if they has certain strains in reg.

Is it just local wild cannabis.

Not really, landraces are domesticated varieties. Just extremely isolated and inbred for generations to the point where they have adapted to the region they are grown in

edit: I'm not botanist so my explanation is super simple 😅

I'm trying to find a link I have about wild vs landrace vs cultivar but I can't seem to find it 🤦‍♂️

2nd edit: I can't find the link but basically if we talking about a starting point in the breeding evolution or whatever it goes wild > landrace (domesticated/cultivated by humans) > cultivars (selective breeding for desired traits). I might be wrong extremely wrong !😆

but imagine the bricky at the build site talking bout building skyscrapers and bridges in his backyard, it's possible, but sounds a little funny and is going to take some time. 😅

It got us this far !😆

The industry still has a way to go, but it has come quite far in a relatively short time. We can only hope we keep moving forward and see improvement ....

  6. I get the fact that majority of home growers would not like to grow it, or would not like the experience even if they got the chance to grow lets say a African landrace that takes like 14 - 16 weeks to flower and then you end up with string weed.

But when it comes to the cannabis industry they are really important, especially in terms of research for medical use even rec. For breeding I mean its always good to have them for whatever reason, they could possibly become the building blocks to something completely new in the future.

Will start these in smaller pots to start with using normal potting soil + a decent amount of Perlite this time.

Culterra also has a germination mix which works well, I haven't used it much but I mixed it in with their professional mix one year for a few seed I bought and literally just top dressed with their herb mix and then got something for flower

I am trying to grow outside however for some reason or another I can't even get a decent seedling let alone a plant!. Ok, so I'm definitely not an expert but have grown with success before in Spain. First grow now I'm back in SA and things are not going well!.

Just to clarify, so your seeds germinate but your seedlings just die off ?

Time is marching on. Is there still time to plant weed outside?.

Indeed there is still plenty of time

    Having problems myself with autoflower.
Knowing it's a finiky plant to grow I planted some (mmmm, actually a lot) early September when temps were dropping to 0 and then some rain then planted more at two week intervals. All outdoors.

Most ended up male's and then the female's I've got tend to attract spider mites and leaf borers.

Must admit I was expecting a little bit more than what I've ended up with on harvest.
    Averaging 7 - 10g per plant.

15 Strawberry Vostok autoflower planted the other day and some showing life so let's see.

Damn weather needs to make it's mind up.

I haven't had any pest issues besides for some cutworms, but they went straight for my kale.

The rain has been my biggest problem because I've got them in a coco and clay soil mix in the ground which is not drying even the tiniest bit  😅

  10. Oh man I'm having zero luck with any auto's atm 😅🤦‍♂️ I've got some of you stuff still going but with the rain and soil I'm using they are super stunned, I also tried Dutch Passion Auto Ultimate that I got given along with a mix of stuff from fastbuds. The Ultimate went straight into lockout after rain in like week 4 then died and the fastbuds stuff I'm not proud to say but they all started damping off within the few first day 😅

I'll drop you some pic when they are done, They are really going to have tiny buds though 🤦‍♂️. Man thinking about it now I should've had my little PVC tunnel set up and the planted in pots, hopefully I can make permanent space in the garden for one to push out autos like crazy.

The photo periods are doing lovely, should've planted more to up the chances of females.

    -1 strawberry cuda

    -1 strawberry jedi

and then I'm still waiting on the pepe le pew and the 2 SCJ I had were males

Here you can see one leaf stacking directly on top of another, literally no stem / stalk between them.

Interesting looking leaf, I've seen a extra mini finger before and leaf bud, but have not seen a whole leaf coming out anther one 👀

I had one of these Gorilla Glue autos in my last grow which did the same, just became bushy. I isolated her / it in a separate space and tried 18/6 then 12/12 and eventually she pushed out skinny black bud that was completely useless, she used a lot of energy and nutes to achieve nothing!

Sounds like a breeding project gone wrong, at least you got 3 that gave you some proper flower 😁

It was part of a 5 pack (GG Auto) from Groen seeds. 2 or the 5 turned out like this. The other 3 produced some proper fire. The seeds cost just under R500 for the five so it’s not a big deal, I haven’t tried to contact the seedbank to complain or anything. I’m just curious to see if anyone can tell me what they make of this.

I took a pic of a leaf last week which I’ll post if I find it, it’s like a ten finger leaf, basically 2 stacked directly on top of one another, and if there is zero space between nodes!

Just for interest sake, what is your lighting schedule ?

If they are legit auto seeds and not a case of some mixing photo period seeds in the batch it could still be that they lean more towards the photo period side and needs a shorter light cycle to flower ?

  14. Where did you get the seeds from ?

I honestly don't really know what to say, but if its pushing flower its got a sex and you won't know if its sterile/infertile till you try pollinate it ?😅

had 3 years of learning about the plant growing some midgrade outdoor with a lot of trial and errors

I mean that's still 3 years of growing in my books.

Overall my first grow wasn't as successful as I would've liked it to be, but it was my first time putting all that theory to work in a practical situation, but a harvest is a harvest and my first grow is still my first grow. Granted you stepped up your game and decide to go the indoor route to get a guarantee at a better quality end product, I feel it doesn't make your starting point obsolete.
