I think I made a mistake of soaking my peat and then immediately transplanting the seedlings, and then I continued to water with my nute solution. I did change my peat brand so I'm wondering whether that may be the case because this peat is way darker than my regular one and seems to hold alot more moisture as well. Do they look over watered? I'm using a 50 50 perlite peat combo. I also think my addition of perlite is contributing to the issue as I never used perlite before and never had any overwatering issues.

Howzit man. Ja your plants are showing the classic signs of overwatering. Droopy leaves and sometimes they will also appear swollen from the excess moisture uptake. Perlite doesn't retain water as much as what vermiculite will do. More of an aeration benefit to your medium. Sounds like you have soil mix there with your peat? Dono. I wouldn't stress too much. Just let the medium dry and monitor if the leaves start puckering up. If not then you have a more serious issue on your hands. Good luck and keep us update✌️

  2. Feel the pot. Be the pot my friend. Don't water again until that pot is as light as a feather. Then hit them with a lekker nutrient feed. They will strive. Avoid any form of stress to the plants until they are fully recovered. Sterkte✌️

    Okie dokes...

Ill try give as much information as possible about this grow i've planned.

First off, ill be planting straight into my final pot, all three seeds will be planted into a mix of mediums. Plant training will be required throughout the grow, but carefully enough not to hurt any of the babies and also give them enough space as they grow, it would be easier to scrog this event but I do not suspect there will be available time for such. My plan is to secure 4 main branches off each plant, and grow them UP and away from the center of the pot. I've seen tortoni's to branch out like crazy, so we will see how effective my plan is, regardless 4 branches just of center, cleaned up from the bottom to the top.

The soil - 30 Gal pot (sitting on a diy plastic pallet) This soil has been through quite the amendment process, it should lack nitrogen as I have not added a single dry/shredded source of heavy nitrogen input since wayyyyyy back when I first put the soil together. So I will be adding fish hydrolysate at 0.5ml per/l and working up to 1ml per/L if possible. The center fills are a dilution 1:4  ratio of the soil itself; perlite; coco; ewc

The Light & Standard Ventilation  - The trusty Liontree LED supernova 320, this LED has done me very well since I've had it. So I thought it would get the job done.

The Watering - Using the Blumat automated watering system with 1m of blu-soak hose. They work incredibly well and If anybody is looking into automation, I would definitely suggest this solution, if the number of plants you are growing allows for it, Marijuana SA are the only guys I've seen that will sell you individual components, so you done have to fork out excessively and get the job done.

The Feeding - I will strictly be using the following products below. (full organic)

    Microbes - (biodyne) (mycorrhizal inoculants)

Blackstrap molasses (2 different types, one is high in potassium/other high in calcium) (will feed on observation)

Fish hydrolysate (bi - weekly 0.5ml p/l for veg)

EPIC 5:2 (Ill be doing a bi - weekly foliar until week 2 of flower) (weekly drench until week 7 of flower)

    Mulching - Alfalfa mulch

Fulvic extract - 5ml per 5l (weekly from week 8 flower till end)

Kelpak - Quarter dose during hormonal shifts.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

    Its waiting time I guess.

At what ratio do you feed Kelpak? The suggested ratio on the bottle seems far out! I've been feeding at about 20ml/10L rainwater and seems to do my plants good. Just curious. Shot✌️

  4. Does cotyledon size indicate the potential genetic strength/weakness in a plant? I noticed that the plants with bigger cotyledons tend to be stronger and grow more vigorously than those with smaller cotyledons. Of course there are many other factors that determine above mentioned but if the cotyledons is an early indicator of plant potential then we can save ourselves a lot of time and money. @Totemic any input or am i grabbing something out of thin air?

If you're talking about these ones then they are the ones to be weiry off. If I'm not mistaken and if I googled correctly AND if my own experiences is wrong then they lay the eggs that hatch and turn into this......

They cause a lot of damage in the growing season.

PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG

    Smelly

Found a couple of these worms in my soil pot after my seedlings suddenly died. Pulled the seedling and discovered that the root were chowed off. Could this creature be responsible for it? They seem to be in all my soil pots and i have no idea how they got there. I've never seen the adult beetle specie in my area...

Found this thread and just wanted to add my 2c.

Went to a seed drop at a very reputable growshop in Blouberg CPT, My GF got Osama Bin Gelato AUTO and I got a Simba Seed Critical + (both free seeds).

The Gelato flowered very very fast and did not yield much at all. The smell was also very grassy and fresh grass type of smell. And I just cut the Citical + out of my tent for turning hermie. I am now mega pissed because I run a 2 x plant setup and I am fearful my Lemon Pie might have been pollinated as the budding rate has decreased and some pistols are going red.

    President Seeds...'nough said🙁
