I'm actually gonna germ and veg some bagseed before I attempt the NL I bought. Trial and error grow if you wanna call it that.

I have @Toby, I'm looking at having the lights on at night as you suggested, from like 6pm. My problem is, the cab is in the garage and it gets pretty warm in there during the summer days... So I might have to rethink the location. When I get my hyrgometer, I'll monitor the "lights on" temp before planting anything.

Yep, I made the frame with a large area so I can just add T couplers as I go along, Those should be fine for my veg period (3 x 45w 6500k), I read that for Northern Lights, you wanna add 1 or 2 2700k bulbs during veg as that make it produce alot more resin? If the heat does become an issue, which it most likely will coz summer is approaching, I'll just push the cab outside and give it fresh air and have the rest of the light period at night. That can work right?

Sup guys I was busy working on my cabinet today, ran out of double sided tape while putting up the panda film. So outta boredom or maybe coz I was so baked, I decided to make a reflector for my makeshift CFL light rig. So, my question, is using panda film as a reflector a bad idea? Like the heat the CFL's give off isn't much, had the lights on for and hour without a fan on and the film was warm, not hot. What's your thoughts?

Thanks @420SA! So that mix wouldn't require any nutes until the JGS soil is ready?

I also bought 50L last week Friday from Jamie! He actually advised me that I don't need to cook the soil mix BUT according to Toby's previous post in "So it begins - Feb 2015" his plants fried after transferring his to JGS Orgasoilux mix. Best would be to confirm with Toby exactly how long it took before the plants started showing signs of being over-cooked and what he did to recover it. It's possible that Jamie adjusted his recipe for the soil. That's why he told me its not necessary to cook it. I'm already feeling optimistic now that your seeds have germinated in your JGS mix. I will be watching your grow for the first 2 weeks with interest. In the meanwhile I will continue to cook, wait and see. @Heisenberg I'm hoping that the soil you got doesn't need cooking , obviously so your plant won't get harmed. I'll try to get some of the same stuff. Or else it means i'd have to delay my grow by 2 months.

Thanks OTG! Noted. Forgot I have a garden too! Hahaha! The 1 plant mission is still a dream until my cabinet is sorted. I'm going with a simple cfl grow. Just as a starter, to see if i'm keen on going all out with proper lighting and so on. I'm weighing up my options and looking at what would cost the least amount of moola. The organic option seems the best way to go, but it's a lot to deal with if you've never planted a thing in your life.

Howzit guys? I'm yet to start my first grow, so i'm reading until my eyes bleed. If the tea only lasts a few hours, how much would you brew for 1 plant and how much tea do you actually use? Would going organic be worth while if you plan on only ever growing one plant at a time?

And I just changed my mind about my grow! Hahahaha! Feed the soil and not the plant yeah?

So in theory, if cooked correctly, you should be able to do your entire grow by only feeding water? Considering you'll pot up, adding fresh soil every time you do so. Or am i wrong?

Good luck Heisenberg! If she's not too big after 2 weeks, let her veg a little more. Apparently NL doubles during flower, so maybe use that as a guide? I excited to see this go down!
