Morning guys, I have a question relating to extraction fans for my grow cabinet. I've attached a pic of the cabinet I intend to use. The dimensions are as follows : Height is 78cm Length is 86cm Width is 57cm I've found this fan on bid or buy that I wanna use for extraction, is it strong enough? Or do I need more than 1? I'll be using 3 45w cfl's for now. Fan spec : AXIAL DC FAN 120x120x38mm 12V DC BALL BEARING 3100RPM 138CFM - 0.36" H2O 48dBA http://www.bidorbuy.co.za/item/198374744/COOLING_FAN_12V_DC_120x120x38mm.html Any help would be appreciated! Oops @Heisenberg, they're not 85W, they're 45W. Just realized that when i finished making the PVC light rig. But they're still pretty decent. I'm sure your bulbs will be fine. You don't want too many in such a small space.

@Heisenberg, I bought 3x 85W spiral cfl's (flash brand) at eagle lighting for R120 each. 6400K daylight bulbs, 2000 lm a pop, so my one plant should have enough light for veg. Maybe check them out in future, when you upgrade

Thanks for the reply @kimcarsons, I know HID is the way to go, but my question was in regards to CFL's. Which would be the better option of the two I've asked about?

While we are on the topic of this build, I plan on building something similar, but I have a quick question in regards the cfl's. I have read up quite a bit. I'm thinking of going with four 23W 6400K cfl's and two 23w 2700K cfl's instead of one 85w 6400K cfl. That's for 1 plant (northern light) during veg. Over kill? I feel I'd be able to light up more of the plant with that setup. Thoughts please guys? Hopefully the pic I've attached will upload. That's the light box I have, it's busted, so I'll be stripping the internals and arranging the CFL's in there. Should work well for raising and lowering.

I'm busy looking for idea's on a grow cab, this is perfect, i'll be using cfl's, so heat shouldn't be an issue. This is perfect! Definitely inspired. Thanks Totemic

So after lotsa on consideration, i just went ahead and ordered 3 northern light seeds... Lets see what happens.

So much drama with ordering seeds TK! Spoke to a friend at a headshop last week, he says GSR is a con, but that was one opinion. Just found a thread on GSR, some valid points, so now I've cancelled my northern lights order. The search continues...

As you all do I'm toying with the idea of growing a single plant just to support my habit. What are your thoughts? Yes? No?
