Thanks man, I appreciate all advice I can get. The last time I manged to get rid of gnats with margret roberts insecticide and a layer of sterilize kids sand, I found that diatomaceous earth made a muddy layer ontop. I would like to hear your tips(maybe on another thread so we don't deviate even further)

Sure brother, I dont mind sharing and dont use Diatomaceous earth in my mix, it can be done, but wasn't needed in my recipe. I had tried listening to all the ways and gather the best for me, the outcome was okay. Having been a landscaper and working in a nursery for 5 years, I decided to go back to my basics and what I know about soil and the photosynthesis process, bought my amendments and boom, haven't fed them nutrients since and the plants speak for themselves.

Below plant is outside and also never been fed nutrients yet.

I'm not a pro and I learn every single day still.

Looks good man, my next grow I will go with a soil mix, I just always have issues with bugs when using soil, I made a "super soil" for my girlfriend to grow veggies in a raised bed and she harvested tomatoes, chilies, lettuce, baby carrots and parsley and all she did was water.

I'd be willing to assist you with the mix I use and the cure for bugs and or fungus gnats, that you'll just need to water and not worry about much else. So glad your lady also grows even if vegetables, its something I'm about to start doing myself, look forward to the produce. Thank you for the kind words too

  3. I would imagine similar to bud candy, something that is a ripening and or terpenes producer, and rather start with a good soil, preferably home made with organic amendments, rock dust, perlite blah blah, you add the correct Microbes and have them on the best diet possible so their excrement is juicy food for your plant, and your plant and Microbes create a relationship that they work in harmony and as one unit. Wont need to add anything but water throughout grow. Check my full picture of grow, as I have plants going on 3 months old now (pic @ 2months) never had any nutrients at all, just water.

No problem man, would of been awesome to grow one of your clones.

Why not veg them out for a month then plant outside so you don't loose out?

Space, running out of it quickly, as that picture is almost 3 weeks old now, plants are huge and I dont have enough light covered space to carry them now, going to flip to 12/12 tomorrow actually so they dont have much of choice.

  6. This sucks big time, and have seen an advertisement on TV the last week or two for the new product of ADCO Pharmaceuticals, being it's all great CDB pill.

Again back to the big Corp Pharma. How silly.

  7. I bought just before lockdown, didnt get any seeds free though they blessed me with 2 packs of skins with card filters, packed really nicely but had to wait for the lockdown before I got them at level 4.

Grown their GSC, 3 times now and their stuff has always been my favorite of the serval grown.

    this kinda helped a lot

If you are on YouTube, and on Migro, then go check his top light for 2019 video, he rates all lights out of efficiency, then make up your mind from that, which will most probably be a QB or COB layout, at a push if you got energy to waste, you'll get a HPS. again my own opinion

Nice welcome man, Bay area as in Gordons bay? What clones do you have? I was looking for clones for a while but all places that sold you need to take 6 minimum.

    Good evening @CoolJ

unfortunately I should have said PE, and thought that might have been confusing, but had hit post already.

Sorry I cant assist and would have gladly donated you a Nirvana GSC.

@1000Hills Nursery  ok so checked out Rhino Board and its the cheapest by far!
    1.2 x 3m for R140
Would be much easier to install this than any other lining/sheet.
Do I keep it the blank colour it is, or paint it? If I paint it, is the type of paint important?

As a bonus, if you do use this board and you get tired of it, you can always grind it up and use it in your soil, being Gypsum. (This was intended to as joke, not to be taken as serious grow advice) although Gypsum🌿

  11. Welcome to the forum, myself just joining.

I've not heard of this clone place either, and hopefully you stay close to Stellenbosch, as with this lockdown it cant be easy to pass road blocks with clones.

My plan was to perpetual grow, and just cant afford the light I wanted to get right now for that, so have a few (40 odd) clones looking for new homes in the Bay area.

  12. Thought I'd disturb an old thread, give it a little stirring.

It's my understanding and believe proven by science, that even the Synthetic nutrients as we call them, are basically 2 ion / molecules that attach or bound to each other to make a salt, such as Magnesium Sulfate, which is Magnesium and Sulfur, both which again are found in nature, organically.

The trick comes in where if you provide the soil, and I say soil, as it would be living and teaming with Microbes, with these already ready minerals being provided to the living soil, you in effect are cutting out the middle man, the Microbes, and they go on holiday and or die.

Key is to feed the Microbes, a good diet so they work for you, and feed your plant.

Otherwise you end up with dirt.

Noice! And what grammar did you manage to pull last harvest under it?

As of yet, I've only flowered with half the light and just added the second last week or so. Have got around 80 - 120 a plant with the one light in a cupboard of 1.5x0.6m in size and 8 plants in there...lol. was my first proper grow after 1 sort of half arse grow before with no ph checking and got locked out, learnt lots since then. Thank you for the kind words again.

Nice yo!! What tech have you got and what strains are happening?

    Welcome and buckle in man😉

    Thank you kindly CreX,

I'm running 640w of @growopz boards of LED, which I bought as 2 lights and made them into one, but are only pushing @ 600w for efficiency and longevity.

These are all GSC, and I have so many clones in front that would need to be rehome soon.

Also lost my job end of last year and it's not been easy at all. Doing my best to survive one could say.

  15. The guys here have given you great advice, some of the best actually and for someone new to get that type of advice so early, is priceless.

Those lights you show at the end are different, but a picture is nothing without specifics.

Hope you take their advice and look forward to your grows you going post here.

    Peace.
