  1. Hi guys, I have a question, it might be a stupid one but I'll ask anyway . I'm currently using Terra Aquatica tri part and also have some Terra Aquatica pro organic bloom booster left over from a previous grow. I'm going into last few weeks of flower and wondering if I could add the bloom booster to the tri part or feed it on separate days or Can they even be fed to the same plant at all? What do you guys think? TIA
  2. No I haven't had any issues with plants getting root bound. The fabric pots are working out. You shouldn't have problems going smaller than 10l in a fabric pot, roots will grow proportionate to the pot.
  3. I keep mine in 4 litre fabric pots, atm I have 15 mothers so anything bigger and I won't have space to keep them all.
  4. LOL, that's commitment. I think I'll go with the rechargeable fan.
  5. Thanks @Prom, what do you mean when you say you vent by hand?
  6. Nice brother, so you just give 1 dose over 8 week period? Nothing else? Always seen this product but didn't know anyone who used it so wasn't convinced. There are so many available, I'm using Terra Aquatica at the moment.
  7. Howsit Bro, I was just speaking to my cousin about this today. He was worried about his clones not rooting because of LS. I haven't had any problems with clones though, I keep the lights on 24/7 for mine, I use those cheap 100w globes (R12 each), So even if LS is 4 hours it still doesn't affect the rooting. I don't know what the threshold is before they get affected but maybe keep your lights on 24hrs, they should be fine. I have some in the dome at the moment and they're starting to root after just over a week.
  8. Greenhouse will definitely help with wind and uninvited visitors. Yep I built it myself, nothing fancy, just basic to keep the wind at bay and try to minimize pollination from anyone growing males in the area. But here's a link from this forum from someone who shared their log with us.
  9. In cape Town I find that humidity usually picks up around that time of the year, a few years ago I had a big problem with pm on my outdoor plants during this time. It might be different if you're in another part of SA. If you can get a dehumidifier before then it'll be a big help to keep RH down, especially if you gonna be in late flower.
  10. Yes I do grow outdoor as well, in fact I have a little greenhouse setup. I veg them indoor, the loadshedding doesn't have a big effect during veg, then I flower them in the greenhouse most of the year. But indoor is where I really get the most out my plants, ito quality so I don't want to give up on it.
  11. That's a decent size, will definitely look at getting one, it's a battle against pm, need all the help I can get.
  12. I really hope that's true bro, nevermind the growing, I don't see how we or the economy gonna survive permanent stage 6. It's definitely still possible to grow indoor, I was just doubting myself because everyone said it's not possible, even though I've been growing through LS all this time. The way I understand it is that canna doesn't depend on light to flower, it needs a 12 hour uninterrupted dark period to flower, the light period is just to support the the growth and bulk of the flower, so loadshedding minimises the light received which reduces yield and quality. But with stage 6, it just stresses the plant out way too much so you need to make a plan with some kind of supplementary light just to keep them in their cycle. Good luck with your new grow, hope it works out.
  13. Same here bro, I didn't really feel it with normal LS but stage 6 is another story, now I've got the light and RH to worry about. You say you use a rechargeable fan to keep air moving. What size fan? One of those small ones? Does it help to reduce RH? That'll be a great solution if it can work in my grow space.
  14. Stage 6 is going to be really tough and eskom forecast for the year is looking bleak. I haven't considered an inverter before, I heard it's quite pricey and my wife already says I treat my plants better than I treat her and the kids, now I'm gonna come home with an inverter to keep them lit while I sit with her in the dark, so will probably need to get 2, lol. But that's good idea. Battery not a bad idea to keep a fan running, but solar is definitely out of the budget. You know what I'm saying bro, this is South Africa, ons maak n plan, lol. We can't just give up.
  15. Hi guys, I couldn't find any threads related to loadshedding and hope I'm asking in the correct category. I've been speaking to other growers about loadshedding and everyone says it's impossible to grow indoor with loadshedding. Well, I don't agree that it's impossible, it's harder but not impossible because I've been growing through loadshedding for years now. 2022 was the worst year thus far to grow with the amount of loadshedding we've been having. My yields suffered a lot and the last grow with stage 6 caused much stress to my plants and for the first time I had a major problem with seeds in my bud. For my current run I got a 100w rechargeable led that I use when LS hits. I hope this will reduce stress so that they don't push out seeds again. My biggest problem with LS is keeping RH under control because it sometimes goes above 90% when the fans go off. So anyway, this is the only place I trust to get solid answers to my questions. What do you guys think about growing during LS, is it impossible? What do you guys do to mitigate the effects of LS? Is everyone still doing indoor during power crisis or am I crazy? I'm starting to think the people I'm speaking to don't fully understand the grow cycle of the plant or maybe it's me that's confused. TIA for your feedback, happy new year and may you harvest abundantly.
  16. I know this is an old thread, but just thought I'd add canna cuts to the list. They have a nice variety and well priced.
  17. Really happy you guys are back, Hopefully to the same high standards you set the first few times i bought from you, i was amazed with the service but then i had a very bad experience when i ordered my last batch of beans. when i did get them the stock was swopped and 2 of them were crushed so I'll pop you an email regarding those. But really looking forward to buying from you again, you guys give the best freebies.
  18. True, I heard about them on this forum beginning of the year and ordered from them, the service was AMAZING, they responded to my emails within 2 minutes and had my order the next day. I was very surprised to see them turn out this way. Anyway, i was reading through their T&C's and it says orders could take 4-5 weeks to arrive. You can usually dispute bank payments with bank or pay gate for up to 6 months, so i'll wait and hope i guess.
  19. I can't believe Cannabist have the audacity to have a link on their website saying "feeling a bit weary , no stress ask members on 420SA about their experience" and it leads me here. Put in an order with them a month ago worth R2000, a few days later i check out the reviews on 420 just for interest and i realized that everything had gone to sh!t, they haven't responded to my emails or whatsapp. I'm sitting here with pots filled with soil , everything's ready but nothing to plant. Out of 13 local seed banks I chose Cannabist These guys should be closed down , they can't run a business like this.
  20. Great stuff, your plants look amazing and welcome. Friend of mine is interested in getting those Brooklyn sunrise autos, have you grown them before?
  21. Thanks guys @Dank I'm doing that right now was there a problem with the website yesterday? I couldn't respond or view notifications.
  22. Hi All Thanks for the welcome and advice . I'm in Cape Town, I haven't grown autos before but going to give it a try.
  23. Aweh everyone, I'm glad to have stumbled across a local forum. Seems like there is a good vibe in here. I've been growing outdoors in coco, this is my 3rd grow, So I'm looking forward to learning as much as I can from all of you experienced growers. At the moment I have 2 GG#4 and 3 critical CBD plants which I got from Nirvana seeds. They are approximately 6 weeks into flower. I also have 1 super cheese plant which I got as a clone from a friend, I put her in the ground. I'll put some pics up. I have a question. Is it too late in the season to grow an auto flower plant outdoors? I'm thinking of getting a Gelato auto flower to plant outdoors, in a fabric pot. Thanks. ... I'm struggling to add attachments of existing pictures from my phone. I'll post pics when I figure it out.
