  1. and I really suggest bigger pots next time you do a great job, at least what I see on your pic.. but a 11 liter pot is just a little to small for those babies. for that size plant i would suggest more 60+ liter pots.
  2. Looks healthy to me but needs support. Plants realize, when their branches hang down from weight and stop production on those branches. I would suggest to "cage" those pots! Helps a lot to sort your branches for optimal sun and support when flowering.
  3. The cleaning of your gear.. and if you do not wear gloves, your fingers, can be made easy with a simple trick. Oil.. I use olive oil, seems to bond best.. but free to try others. You use one drop. Spread the oil over the area and scratch with your finger nails the rest hash off, no worries, will not stick. Once happy, use the scraping part of a kitchen sponge to clean the scissor to shine. Fingers, just wet with oil and rub off to a ball. Due to the oil.. don't smoke that.. but bon appetit Clean hands and sponge with detergent. Can leave the oil on the scissors Happy growing
  4. Thought might be a nice indicator, if we post harvest results. Know what you can expect from each plant.. might be changing peoples opinion in giving the seed a try. The yield of the seed is set as "low", can't agree with that ^^ Buds are very nice size on those Bubbles. Plant: Bubbleicious Type: Autoflower Seed producer: Nirvana Light: Outdoor Soil: own mix, home made compost with Freedom Farm green bag (mix ratio 2/3 - 1/3) Fertilizer: Bio Bizz (Fish-Mix for veg, Grow, Bloom and Top-Max for flowering) Germination: 12. November 19 Harvest: 4. Feb 20 Yield (4 plants): 65, 82, 90, 72 (in that order visible in the dry tent picture) - 309g (ready to cure, little under dry, but I prefer to go a little bit more on the dry side, gets a bag anyhow) The scissor hash is from dry dressing, gives an idea how sticky the buds are.... happy with the result.
  5. How do the plants get judged? Make a picture?? Kinda can't bring those trees for judging Wouldn't it be easier, if you select a official lab testing Canabis, take the different categories they test (date of test must be 2020) and the winner is the one with the highest result per category? I wouldn't move my plants for any competition.. not worth to stress them that much. But getting it tested from the same spot, should deliver fair results. Have a sexy week and happy growing

If you run fems, I would just go with white light.. enough light will trick your plants.. just not grow anymore. Autos... they have a rather short veg phase, and when Eskom shuts you down 1-2 times a day, after a week you lost a day, after 2 weeks.. 2.. that is serious grow time for Autos. Only reason I power a grow light and take the hassle. Fems you decide when you want to go flower, so you lose 1-2 days if you just use normal LED backup lights you get easy in SA ^^ all super markets have them. The 220 plug in and auto start with a power failure, needs no manual switching at all, easy and cheap solution. If you have Autos.. running a veg light just makes sense, but isn't also imperative.
  8. Compost heap! All you do is dump all your green waste (lawn cutting, drop leaf, what ever organic material) and kitchen waste on a more shady spot in your garden. Rest the micro organisms will do and you end up with very good black soil. Is a bit to fine to use directly, might suffocate your young roots, mix it with Perlite and you have already a awesome medium to plant. Perlite costs a little, the soil is free.. Cycle is about 6 months.. what ever you drop on top, comes out as soil further down around 6 months later. Needs to kept moist to work.

As Eskom just had me down.. made a pic of the 144 running.. as you see.. doesn't need much as soon as the Gelatos flower, I dump the next 10 seeds in the glass. The 8 Autos have just to endure ^^ I ran into my 1000w generator.. not starting, but I might service it to keep the Ts3000s going too. Sheet says, they draw 480 max.. so 2.. might be a close call but 1 for sure. Generator is digital output, so the electricity is hopefully clean enough to run those lights.. will find out over the weekend... they state clear on the lamp.. only regulated power as input. The 12v battery also runs the fans for the TS-3000's to keep their cool, i turn those off during power failure. Nice lights, they make light.. but what makes a lot of light, creates heat. If you think into getting those.. they need their own fan and will bring heat. I had a 144 running in a 1.2x0.6 (for a home size tent, i would go for that size, easiest to reach each plant.. and you get 8 autos in) without any extraction fan going, just opened all exits and put mosquito netting in. Fan for inside circulation.. never went over 26, as long as the room was not over 26. So the 144 isn't really creating that much heat. Nice lamp.. would be my recommendation for a beginner to start and doesn't uses to much electricity either.

I should say.. from my opinion and growing experiences, i call myself a intermediate grower. I live at a really windy spot.. good to have no issue with spider mites, but still, not helping with keeping things on the plant I pull my hat in front any hobby grower reaching 30% with outdoor.. i fail miserably with outdoor. looks nice but never reaches my indoor potency. Strangely I also have way less hassle to determine when to harvest indoor. Also a short note to the hydro tent.. my better half send me shopping before I finished ^^ Not that you think I am a god walking among mortals. The system isn't perfect yet and I blew 42 pristine seeds on the software so far but standing at 42 dead plants since December.. so fingers crossed, I have a working setup by April. Last time I was at Brackenfell, Hydroponics, had a chat with the guys, they would even consider to offer it, once it runs smooth. As mentioned, Post Office is driving me nuts have a order i made in October and still wait for for my new set of measuring pumps. They should finalize my mixing tank and give the exact amounts I need. So that tent is not listed.. as is more killing things right now hehehe The battery backup runs smooth since beginning of January. Can really recommend that and the cost.. if you need the light, yes, bit harsher ^^ but battery and inverter are 3000 Rand.. a batch of new seeds ^^ really worth it. With the Mars 144 you still have the option to run it flowering mode too and use the space till the end. So for tents 1.2x0.6 to 1.2x1.2 (2 lights), they are a great choice (in regards to eskom). Flowering stage, I prefer full spectrum boards. Something else I forgot to mention in regards to Eskom.. you actually do not need a grow light to cheat the light receptors on your plant and keep the inner clock. You get those battery driven LED lamps at PnP, bulky little blocks. you can plug them into the power socket and they go automatically on, if the plug has no power anymore. 2 of those per 1.2x1.2 area, fix installed pointing down, should keep your plants inner light circle on! I just had the stuff anyhow to run the veg light as usual. But just enough light inside your tent should work. If your wallet doesn't has the load.. that is the cheapest option to show Eskom the finger.. and they activate without any switching by them self. Plants will just not grow during that time. So.. enough typing ^^ time to pamper the babies Pic of one of my out door plants from last year.. looked good.. was okisch to smoke (Jack Herer)

I didn't measure the draw exactly. Battery is rather old, made a test, worked ^^ so I went with it. I use a 100AH Lead Crystal Battery I bought 9 years ago for my 3d printer.. to compensate for Eskon outages Fully charged, I had the battery running with a 144, Veg only, for 3.5 hours and the 1000w inverter didn't went safety shut down. After 2.5 hours Eskom time, the battery charger tells me, 3/4 empty, as soon as it kicks back in. My next step are solar panels, at least have no cost during day time for power, not sure I wanna store 24/7. The 144 has build in ventilation and doesn't really heat up only on veg Costs: 100AH battery (about 2500 for a normal car battery or 3800 for a Lead Crystal dry battery (doesn't mind if you completely empty it, charges back to full with no hassle), 800 bugs Inverter 1000w (takealot).. I over sized mine, so it runs more efficient on low draw.. cooler. A grow light able only to do veg mode to save one buttload of battery power. Isn't that expensive if you calculate. Have a batch of germinated Gelato's in.. and don't give a damn about Eskom and 2 144 light up 1.2x1.2 (4x4).. what is my veg section in the big tent My tents ventilation is 12V too, my hydro tent (1.2x60) running a arduino system, giving me the top, medium and bottom temp, humidity and OK for all systems (fans and fertilizer flow) to my tablet. It also automatically mixes my hydro fertilizer(1ml exact), PH regulates it (0.1 exact) and when done, pumps it in the main tank for circulation ( that includes PH changes in the main tank, main tank PH is checked by the system every hour and lets me know if needed). Does the ratio mixing automatically for the week plan i selected, when I germinated the seeds, 8-14 week plan selectable. At the end I just want to play with the plants ^^ and clean out after each batch. Rest.. working on a laser distance sensor setup, so the light is always on the right distance (stepper motor), without me fiddling with it and the CO2 generators get 50% emptied and refilled with sugar water each day. I am a programmer and drone specialist, I really enjoy automating my stuff. At the moment i swap the light by hand, when Eskom goes down. I have the relays and volt sensors on order (post office here drives you nuts) to let the arduino system do the switch. I get lazy ^^ Hope that helped a little bit to get an idea how simple it is to take Eskom out of the picture.
  14. Weed is like wine.. you store and cure it, it will improve in taste and smoke quality tremendously. Seriously, is like day and night. All weed I smoke, is at least 2 months cured. Those Bovida bags I bought once, 5 years ago... and use the same since. If a bag gets "grainy" from the crystallized salts, the bag(s) get their own vacuum container with a little cotton ball wet with water. When the bags are nice and elastic again, they go into the normal vacuum storage jar with the others and moisten out evenly over the next month till I use them again. So 5 years ago I invested something like 1000 Rand into bags and use them since.. 200 Rand a year, isn't really a wallet cruncher I blow 1000 Rand a month fertilizer into my plants.. is a huge waste not to cure that or you smoke your own nutrition's. Like good wine.. if you don't let it stand and ripe in perfect conditions, your 200$ bottle of wine is just vinegar in the beginning, after the right amount of time, you get a unbelievable smooth and tasty experience. Cure your weed! I think the drying and curing process is the most neglected tasks by most growers.. and has the biggest impact on your buds taste.
  15. Why bother... dry it, pack it in a jar, add a bovida 62% and done .. whats is the humidity inside.. 62% need no hydrometer for that. After 9 month you have a smoke, you can't compare it to what you put in. The bags go both ways.. to wet they dry, to dry they re-moist. I thought these days everybody uses Bovida bags.. curing is such a mission without
  16. He has also some nice seeds on stock Very nice guy.. can very much recommend the shop and the guy knows how to grow. Just can't remember his name, been there today to get a new extractor fan.
  17. Hemp plants want wet and dry phases. You keep em wet all the time.. pisses them off.. you keep em to dry.. pisses them off. I lift my pots to feel if they need water.. ok, I never ever give only water, there is always fertilizer going in... no exceptions. Run off... if you use fertilizers, let is run off every 2-3 watering, let it run off properly! You want to wash any dry concentration of fertilizer, which has formed inside your pot soil, if you usually water with no run off. So run off good.. dump it! If you ever have the problem that you screwed over your fertilizer dosage and the plant goes stall... water it heavy for the next 3 days and start fertilizer on half dosage, when your baby goes back to normal, put the fertilizer to normal. And If you go BioBizz for soil.. go the full step!! You need Fish Mix (vegetative state), Grow (is 75% fish mix and 25% molasses), Bloom for flowering and Top-Max when the buds reach finger size.. Top-Max is the secret to monster buds ^^ i very much recommend it!!! I use Rood Juice for the first week too.. forms about double the amount of roots in the same time as if you do not use it.
  18. Make your own compost heap!!!!! Is the easiest thing in the world.. look for a shady corner in your garden, dump all garden waste there and keep it wet (stick a sprinkler from the irrigation on top). 6 months later you have pitch black fine soil to work with, beating any garden center by light years. Mix with perlite.. and you should have happy plants

Hi guys and gals.. wanted to say Hi and present myself. No South African, just here since 2001.. here = CT Had my first joint 34 years ago, planted my first seeds 32 years ago and ran my first indoor setup 26 years ago. Love weed.. can't deny it.. Uhh and I am a non-alcoholic.. for me is just weed, nothing else I have 3 tents: 2.4x2.4 4/20 lights (vegetative section runs over 12v battery inverter, Mars 144 Veg setting, one 100Ah battery runs one 144 3.5 hours, Eskom) 1.2x1.2 12/12 lights 1.2x60 dry tent with AC inside, 18C, 50% Using Mars lights (TS-3000(3) and 144(2)) If I have to describe me in 3 words: Quality over Quantity My preferred smoke: GSC Total Autoflower fanatic.. only do feminized, when the strain has no Auto version yet. But you can't beat potency of a Auto, pumping 20 hours (or more) of energy inside is a huge difference. I grow hydro (rock wool) or Soil (Freedom Farms, green bag), never done coco ^^ a bit the opinion.. you want it easy, you go soil, you don't have the balls to go hydro, you go coco Happy growing
  20. How to start seeds.. the 12 hours in a glass of sterile water is a good start.. problem ^^ the swimmers are your friends.. the sinkers usually are not your best bet. After 12 hours of soaking, you need a few things: sterile water, 2 dinner plates and 4 sheets of paper towel (others love Ziploc bags.. i prefer plates, less squeezing). use 2 sheets together and place them on a dinner plate. cut all paper hanging over the edge off, less water loss and risk to dry out. Pour water over, the paper towels will stick to the plate, hold it up vertical and let the excess water drip off. Once stopped dripping, good. Do same with the other 2 sheets. Place plate, put 2 moist sheets on and then your seeds. Keep 2-3cm distance between each. Then cover the seeds with the second set of paper towels and the other plate on top (flying saucer style). In a dark room, check 24 hours later. Once your seeds are germinated and build some root 1-2cm.. use clean tweezer.. no touchy touch, your hands carry germs.. and transplant them carefully to the new home. Check that the head is UNDER the soil, that way the moisture of the soil softens the shell and makes it easy to pop off. If you let the head harden over the ground, it might simply decapitate your plant while it grows.. Soil is everything.. compost from the garden center will not really do the trick Happy growing!

    Do you bud wash?

Never had the need to wash off dirt ^^ But I water cure, if I had the bad luck of mold in a curing jar (hasn't happened since i ozonize my jars before use) or the weed is potent but tastes like old socks () . (Who doesn't knows water curing: Need a big glass jar with lid to hold your weed and a fine mesh and weight to put on top (just enough to keep all submerged). The only rule you must follow, everything must!! be submerged, no weed can be above the water line or have contact with air. Rest is simple. Put the weed in, fill up very gently the jar with sterile water (i use carbon filtered and UV treated, E-Spring), put mesh and weight on top. Put it in a dark spot around 18C degrees. Change the water depending on color, first 2 days most likely 2 changes, next 3 days one.. after 5 days the water should be more or less as clear as what you filled in, if not, go on till it is. Osmotic transfer is over and your buds are done and cured. Dry as usual (stick snap).. no need to cure anymore.. when dry, is smokeable) The smoke will turn out extremely smooth, and i mean very very smooth.. what is the good side.. but also extremely tasteless! as with the nitrates, sugars and other nutrition, washes terpines out too. I actually try to avoid any kind of wetting the colas during the last 4 weeks (yes they get a rain cover if needed ^^). Even the trichomes resin is lipophylic (likes to combine with fat), still washes with the water, as breaks off very easy. Not sure I would do anything to a bud, if no action is needed. So washing just because you can.. I wouldn't do. If you have muddy buds keep em out of the mud. And for sticky fingers while harvesting.. a single drop of olive oil and cleaning your fingers or gear becomes very easy.. plus.. still can eat it ^^ wouldn't smoke it
