  1. @Dank I'm also really grateful for this local online platform. A decade and some change of growing in silence and having no1 to share the experience besides your closest people. And then suddenly you get to chat with equally passionate people that are not tired of hearing what's happening in the garden. You spot on with the pineapple skunk not liking being defoliated. Gave her a very selective defoliation this time. Her terps are also a new experience to me. It's nothing to scream about but fills a gap while we search for the new flavas. My favorite pheno of the watermelon gals shares the same structure and leave type as the male watermelon I used so maybe... Just maybe I might find something good enough to be a keeper amongst the kids. The stuff in the hunt room I ended up taking clones twice because I found one cutting in the dome had damped off after a week so I played it safe. Now everything besides that one has rooted. So I'm thinking maybe I do a quick F2 project with the Gama Berry. Which might theoretically be F3 seeing as it's BB#5 x strawberry diesel. All research points me to believe that BBs mom is the OG Kush and the dad strawberry diesel. If I'm mistaken please correct me guys. I know guys have already grown BB. So I have a 1m x 1m tent setup that I'm thinking of throwing all 6 Gama Berry clones in (3 males, 3 females) and open pollinate. Maybe eventually only keep the seeds from the female that turns out the best in the sensi room. It is so weird you mention gas plants and gherkins cos now I'm smelling gherkins on the only female Chem plant I have. I like your thinking with this Chem strain. I only have 3 of them thou... 2 males and 1 female. Is that enough to open up its population? For now I still have all the males. Was gonna keep 1 of each but I don't know cos they not really troubling me in their clone form. Maybe wait for a donor from the next hunt...Primal punch or maybe a 96 NYC diesel ... Just have to wait for the post office to come thru. This is like practice for that. Or if you want any of these strains I'll send it to you and you can return the packaging with you know what. Unrooted is perfect for me. Yeah man oneday we too will have lotsa fire floating around SA. Peace growmie
  2. @Dank Firstly I just have to say, dude you are an inspiration. Your attitude towards all growers big and small is all the same. You always liking people's posts. Hope you reap the rewards for all the kindness you put out there... That specific pheno of Pineapple skunk tastes like Liqui Fruit Litchi flava. She's loud in flower and stinks up the place. She's got a decent high and top bag appeal. Unfortunately she's a bad yielder indoors due to her wide leaves, bad penetration . The electric watermelon male used on her has thin leaves and all his sisters are good yielders. This cross is totally random with no real direction except for making some beans with 2 very fruity parents. The other phenos of pineapple skunk were also decent so I ended popping another pack of it. I found a male this time but I don't think I will be keeping him. I've got rooted copies of all of them but only have my eye on 3 of the boyz for now and eventually just keep one for the winter breeding. Hopefully it's the strawberry diesel dominant male just not sure atm which one that's probably gonna be. The wide leave or hybrid leaves . Have to see what the gals in flower show. Either way we just gonna wing it. If you want a male from any of these strains to hit something there Dank style let me know I haven't culled the clones as yet. The Krypt male (chemdawg) has good structure and lineage. If I had the space I would love to make Krypt f2s to add to the seed collection for a future hunt. You know someting ol skool. Besides you the only person I know who knows real ol skool that's willing to share the knowledge. If we allowed to travel between provinces level 3 I'm hitting a drive to you with my dome and some clonex to come get that cut I need from you. We do it for the passion and it will be well worth the drive to me. Looking forward to meeting up with my brother who's there south of the berg @420sake now with the level 3 coming. He has been having all the fun by himself there on Trinity farm. Tons of flavas coming down. Can't wait to go skydiving out there...
  3. @Trailblazer420 Whats the average cost/availability of the cob's and driver to replace a 1000W hps disregarding heat sinks etc. @PsyCLown Any local suppliers of qb's and drivers for diy builds or imports only which seems impossible right now?
  4. @Bakstein420 No retreat no surrender Glad you didn't throw in the towel... Keep it rocking
  5. Boyz moved to the Great outdoors. Time to choose who stays...
  6. Week 1 Flower Males removed and ready to be netted
  7. Hunt room Savage Hulk - Darkhorse Genetics Gama Berry - Darkhorse Genetics 91 Krypt - DNA Genetics Pineapple Skunk - HSO Amnesia x Safety Meeting - in house Wedding Cake x Safety Meeting - in house
  8. Harvested some beautiful mature tiger stripe seeds of her already so that they can get a few weeks rest time and be part of the next hunt.
  9. @Dank you got nothing but hey. I think @zairek is in my home town. I will gladly hook him up with some beanz for you in the mean time
  10. Panda film is really nice and handy to have around. We always using it for light sealing etc. I'm pretty sure it has decent reflectivity. As a start begin with white walls. You can always staple on reflective sheeting after your first grow. There are more important things to address then optimum reflectivity like climate control and lighting.
  11. @Kiteloop In your case just paint it white, many coats . A Matt white will have better reflectivity then the plastic which is glossy. Plan your intake an exhaust. Vent out an airbrick or something and take intake air from the garage. Add some braces in the dry wall so you can mount your circulation fan there for added floor space. Keep it simple but ensure it's light tight, very important. You gonna need space in the garage for a small reservoir and a shelf.
  12. Paint is gonna protect it from water like when foliar feeding or IPM spraying. How much of the garage you plan on using for growing? Trust me you would want to plan the build and do the structure correctly first time. Equipment you can puzzle and improve with time.
  13. @Dank Blue cheese , hope it's like your name sake... dank. I told you about the blue cheese plants I ran last grow and how disappointed I was, well BC#3 flava changed during curing, moved from the berry terps towards the cheese terps. Wish I never let go of my trusted cheese cut I had. Is the wedding cake a clone of the last gassy wedding cake you harvested? I still want to send you my wedding cake cut. It deserves to be shared. Cant wait to see the colours... I'm already seeing the effects of the recent colder nights. My pineapple skunk that I pollinated with the electric watermelon has started purpling instead of browning around the mature seeds which seems positive. Any winter breeding on the cards?
  14. I meant to say as per @CreX and in addition... The calmag has more nitrogen in it then Calcium nitrate + Epsom and which is the better option to avoid too much N in flower. I've used those nutes so there's no I think they have a calmag that's already mixed etc. Repition of advice = no guess work. The more growers agreeing to a solution gives the man with a problem more confidence to take our advice knowing we have done it before and not just quoting from research. But CreX we both here for the same reason...
  15. Now this is a grow to follow
  16. A few pieces of batton and some rhino board...
  17. Use calcium nitrate and magnesium sulphate (Epsom salt) from hydroponics.co.za Don't use the calmag they have as it has a lot more nitrogen then going with the above option and the flora series already has plenty N. When I used those nutes in dwc I eventually used only the micro and bloom and not the grow part. 2:1 in veg and 1:2 in flower. On its own GHE has just borderline too little calcium for dwc for most strains. In the mean time up the dose of the micro if you seeing a calcium defiency while you wait for the calcium nitrate. Not too much if you like reaching midflower. Epson salts you should be using anyways as an additive in dwc standard especially in flower.
  18. Pathetic from our police and the media. This is the world we live in... Amidst all the big problems they do this
  19. Pretty cool nutes. Why is it your fav hydro nute? I mean to import something that's 80% water..
  20. GHE works ... No denying... Strain selection? Rather ask for recommendations on quality breeders. Most of what's easily available is far from quality and is merely to keep the hobbiest happy
  21. @KaktusBoer Messed around a lot with coco/perlite mixes in the past. Great combo, easy to flush amongst other benefits. Eventually found plain coco to be best suited to our style. Just way cheaper and alot more forgiving from drying out. But anyways respect on running your system like that. @PsyCLown Nice. I checked some of their stuff in the hydro shops. I didn't look too deep... Stopped at the price
  22. @KaktusBoer Why do you fertigate that often? I know you probably getting good results but you would get that with feeding once a day with runoff. @PsyCLown what auto system you running?
