Generally its always cheaper to do something yourself. You pay for the convenience.

Want to service your car, the parts are only part of the cost. The labour is the rest and if you're doing it at the stealerships they charge a hefty price per hour.

Same applies to food, growing it yourself is a fraction of the cost to buying it in the shops.

Coco is no different. Hydrating the coco, washing it and buffering it and mixing it with perlite is quite a mission and a hassle for sure. So naturally buying it ready in a bag will come at a premium price.

As for it being less than R70, depends where you are sourcing it all from but a 5KG brick expands to around 60L roughly and those sell for over R70 for a decent quality brick. Plus you gotta mix in some perlite. So overall you could get what's in the bag for less, but I do feel it the raw materials would cost you more - unless of course you are bringing it into SA in bulk yourself.

The pricing on the coco and perlite is similar to the pricing on the soil people sell.

R180 for 30L of soil vs R350 for 60L of coco & perlite, which works out to R175 for 30L of coco & perlite.

When you think about it, soil is dirt and some amendments. 

GT Hydro sell the Gold Line coco, a bag of 45L of 100% coco (no perlite) is R299 I think.

In flower one needs to be careful, something like aq sf could work well. http://www.agro-organics.co.za/aq-sf/

Mixture of milk & water has been effective against PM as well. But it can smell and make a mess when being sprayed.

Some use sulphur, but some say it leaves a residue on the bud which can be tasted and others say it makes no difference to the taste. So this one is for your discretion.

Serenade I have heard good things about, I believe it can be used during flower - but you'd need to source it and import it. Not available locally.

Chances of you figuring out what strain it is, is basically impossible.

If you want and like it, then let it grow and flower it out. If you really want, you can take a cutting before flower if it turns out to be something you love - then you can continue to grow it from the cutting(s).

I have, not to say you wont run into issues but if you do not have a dehumidifier - then you gotta work with what you got.

Spraying the plants to try keep possible issues at bay could help. Defoliation as well and ensure ample air circulation inside the tent to avoid stale spots.

I see, I have always had my fan set on static - despite it having built in RH & temp sensors.

That way it moves the same amount of air out the tent regardless of the temp and RH. I understand the issue with the temps dropping too low during lights off.

Although with us going into summer now, shouldn't be as much of an issue at least.

So what did you do to counter it? Increased fan speed when the lights go off?

Some friends of mine have used it and it seems to be great stuff, their plants are very happy.

They've used some of the Goldline and then some 5kg bricks too. Plants are happy all around and you can't tell the difference between which coco is which.

Their Goldline was the 100% coco though, they added their own perlite.

Nice, keen to see how the grow goes and how you find the coco.

@Slartibarfast keep in mind that the ambient humidity will be the lowest you will achieve in your tent.

If you want it lower, the only way is with a dehumidifier.

So best is to monitor the ambient RH of the room and perhaps even the house, then you know how far off the RH in the tent is compared to the room / house.

Increasing the amount of air moving through the tent will help get rid of excess humidity in the tent. Any lower than the ambient humidity, you'd need a dehumidifier.

I have decided to just stick it out and go with the flow as I do not really want to run a dehumidifier, so sometimes humidity is high during flower - just monitor for PM or spray something to help prevent PM from occurring.

That body high actually sounds kinda pleasant from the way you're describing it - except for the sweat and nausea. lol

CBD is important though and a must if you want your weed to be balanced. Otherwise not a bad idea keeping some CBD bud around to mix with other strains if you feel the need too.

What cable is that going into the tent? Is it power? I like the fact that it is curled and looks as if it will spring back once tension is released?

Nice, 90L is big - you'll end up with a massive plant   Still got quite a while to go until its outdoor harvest time.

From mostly milky to amber is normally within a week. Although which one has milky trichomes? I assume the auto as the sativa looks as if its not as far into flower as the auto.

Although you're growing outdoors and the amount of light is continuing to increase, not sure how much darkness they're actually getting and what the plants are doing. This wont affect the auto but will affect the photoperiod sativa and may lead to her revegging.

If the auto has milky trichomes, I wouldn't bother using bloom nutes now, I feel the growth is over and it;s just waiting for it to ripen.

For the sativa, you could use some bloom nutes and it could still be beneficial. Any of the above 3 bloom nutes should work alright. They're all more or less the same stuff.

I'm not actually sure, I imagine the trichome won't mature if its revegging - or if it does mature, may be at a much lower rate.

Perhaps someone else would chime in here and confirm.

If there are lots of milky, you could chop it still I guess, if you don't want to wait. Better than just clear trichs.

how well you used space can be defined like @oros da boss mentioned grams per litre/pot size, its actually a brilliant idea as pot size is strongly linked to plant size if everyone grows same strain then judging the most efficient won't be opinion but based on figures

This is true, one could base their outdoor grow on the size of the pot I guess.

Although light won't really work, also space wise is a bit tricky to measure the space the plant is using outdoors.

But you are right, there certainly are some measurements one could use.

A lot of the soils which are used for cannabis contain some coco and perlite too.
When you start adding amendments to coco, I feel it starts to become a soil and isn't really coco anymore.

The perk and benefit to coco is the fact that its inert, it gives you full control over what you feed your plants. The way it retains water and air is also fantastic.

If it's harvested now, the trichomes likely won't be mature.
Check how much Amber, milky and clear trichomes are on the plant.

An extended dark period of only a few hours is unlikely to affect them much.

I would take them outside and then tomorrow correct it and ensure you are consist with it.

Although the hermie trait is more prominent in some strains then others, some are just more sensitive.

I find that when I smoke dab, I am more active compared to when I vape flower or eat edibles.

Also consuming caffeine when smoking helps give me a bit of energy and not end up as a couch potato.

Obviously the amount I smoke plays a role too, two bowls from my vape and I am flying super high. A single one though, I can still function and does not put me to bed.

Up to it I.t.o growing difficulty or mega highness?
I've seen a Train Wreck strain being touted as pretty awesome, must be a distant cousin I imagine... if I remember right a friend had me some when I last visited him in the Cape. Was lekker!
