  1. That is pretty cool, there is water inside so it can be filtered and cooled a bit too.

Although isn't this in the wrong section, not really news? 😛

I am a vape guy, vape all the way... Dab on occasion and bong on a very rare occasion.

  2. You looking at doing so on a commercial level?

So growing and then exporting overseas to the companies which have issued you with a contract for a certain amount of cannabis?

I have a friend who is busy with this process, although he has consultants to assist with the process and has a massive farm with lots of other things currently and just wants to look at adding cannabis too.

Very pricey to go commercial and requires a couple of mil upfront and then waiting times and so forth. Approx R20k when you apply for the license and if you fail you need to pay and apply again.

Also you need to meet the required figures of CBD and THC and so forth otherwise they will not take your yield and you're left out of pocket.

  3. PM is cause by extream spikes... For example lights off humiduty +-70% and lights on dry +-30%.

Liquid forms on the leaves at night which doesn't evaporate easily leads to the begining of the trouble. Once the PM has established it's self of the leave surface, it drops a taproot into your cannabis plant and starts drinking from her. It's only a few days later that you notice the furry shimmer.

Now she becomes a nightmare and thrives between 23'c-27'c with dry humidity. Basically thrives in the target range (conditions/climate) we want to grow in.

    Awesome week all

This is good to know, thanks.

So try keep humidity a bit higher to try prevent it and more constant.

  4. Hey all,

So I have read conflicting info regarding this. I know it is possible, although some say it is not recommended as the potency decreases over time with the clones and other say it makes no difference and you can continue to clone a clone continue to do so for many many generations without issues.

What have you read, what has your experience been?

I'm wondering how much extra pollen will be flying around now. With the Cape Town wind they could end up pollinating a whole bunch of hobby grower's plants in the area

How inconsiderate of them! Let's hope they don't have males.

  6. Big corporate weed which will be shipped overseas. Quite annoying, rather let the local guys use the land and export it.

We have farmers who are setting up, or have already set up, their big commercial grows and are getting contracts from pharma companies overseas.

Depends on the LED, if you're going quantum boards you can do 30-35w/psf, what is the size of your grow area and do you plant to utilize the entire space?

As little as that? The HLG site basically works out to 4x 288 QB's for 1.2 sqm - unless I did not do the maths correct as their measurements are in squared feet I think.

I actually didn't look into other grows apart from my mates. I guess i got lucky yeah.

Sooooo, i messed up by just mixing a big batch of feed and split it 3 ways. Problem is, the GG is a heavy feeder and by the time i noticed the leaves going light, it was already in flower. So not much i could do. I'm using Biobizz hey.

So with a plant which is hungrier than others, do you simply add more water or do you mix a stronger concentrate?

So perhaps 3ml of BioBizz instead of 2ml for that specific plant?

  9. Very nice!

I did a quick search for Fastbuds yesterday and seems not everyone is very happy with them, lots of people had various issues. Glad your grow turned out pretty well though! 😄

How did you mess up the feeding and what nutrients are you using? I got some autoflower seeds I plan on growing too.

  10. Alright good to know, thanks guys.

I have some rapid rooter on the way. I got some bag seed from friends who smoke the cheaper stuff to mess around with, put 6 seeds into paper towel and wet them. Covered with a plate and left then for a few days and all sprouted.

With the proper seeds I'm thinking of soaking them in water for upto 24 hours, the. Putting them into a rapid rooter and probably putting the rapid rooter into a humidity dome until I see some leaves and the. Placing the rapid rooter into a pot with soil.

    Hey bro,

So my personal opinion, setup two tent's if you want a perpetual grow/harvest.

You could germinate both seeds, and then make clones at a later stage for the second tent which is veg only, once you have decided on the size of your plants and are happy you can move them to the flower tent.

For me personally, i tried germinating seeds by soaking in water, then the paper towel method. I wasn't able to spend enough time at home and as a result the paper towel dried and i lost about 4 seeds. If you have purchased seeds you know that's not a small loss. Anyway, moving on i planted the seeds directly into seedling mix from GTHydro, put the small pots into a humidity dome and left them for a few days, and had a 100% success rate on those seeds. so that now becomes my preferred germination method.

Watch your plants as they grow, and as you notice developments on the plants, ask uncle G about what you are seeing, and research as much as you can, even ask questions on here. You will eventually get a feeling for when your plants need to be moved from pots etc..

Also, keep a grow diary of when you last watered/how much feed etc for your refrence down the line, also make sure you can identify which plant is which and when you do clone, which clones come from which mother's.

All in all, have fun and learn, enjoy the journey.

When do you remove the seedlings from the humidity dome and put them into the big boy growing area?

As soon as the first 2 proper leaves have started sprouting?

  12. So I placed an order from Scared Seeds before joining the forum - took a big risk.

Paid off, the owner is super helpful and friendly. Shipping was very quick and my Dutch Passion seeds arrived in the original breeder packs with the seeds sealed inside the bags.

Very happy so far and will certainly be purchasing from there again!
