  2. My current grow is using 19.1 kw/units per 24h. I'm running 1000w(600w + 400w) lights in my flower tent and a 200w light in my veg tent. The fans are pulling 88w. You need to work out consumption in order to work out cost so the best thing to do is break your grow down to each piece of equipment that is using electricity and work from there: I'm gonna use my grow as an example here: Firstly it really helps to measure what each device is actually pulling and not go by the indicated wattage for the device i.e. a 600w HPS may use a little more than 600w, especially with magnetic ballasts. My 600W HPS and 400W HPS are collectively pulling a total of 1115w and not 1000W. If you have a prepaid meter it should be able to tell you the wattage being used in the house. An easy way to measure each devices true wattage is to have the device off, check the current wattage use in the house in the meter and note the amount, then turn the device on, note usage and work out the difference. Here's how to work out total consumption: The formula is : Device wattage X time(hours) device is on Flowering Lights: 1115w x 12 = 13 380 Veg Light: 200w x 18 = 3600 Fans(2 extractor fans and 2 oscillating Fans): 88w x 24 = 2112 We then add these totals together: 13 380 + 3600 + 2112 = 19 092 So that gives me 19 092 watts which is the total number of watts my grow uses every 24 hours. Or 19.1 kilowatts, or 19.1 units... whichever way you wanna look at it. To work out cost Formula: Total daily usage X Price per unit(kilowatt hour) Daily cost: 19.1 x R2.44 = R46.60 Monthly cost: 46.60 x 30 = R1398-00 Hope this helps

  3. Last minute entry ... I present to you my Chocolate. The first and main one has been grown from seed, nice and fat, the second from clone, She isn't as pretty but I like her a lot and she is bearing some fat buds ! The clone is a month younger but they both have been flowering fro 32 days now. Both in Hempy, clone from early on in veg and seed from 2-3 weeks into flower. (out of interest, there IS a fat difference in growth between organic pot and organic hempy, hempy is lot more vigorous) Choco from seed : Side: Top: Bud: Choco from clone : Side : Top: Bud: Good luck to everyone! Saw some pretty sweet plants around ! Happy grow.

  4. Was wondering what everyone is estimating their power spend at on a monthly basis for growing indoor? Whats your setup and how do you geuss your consumption? I am due to run a 600w HPS soon, and wonder what it will do to my pocket LED 360w has been very forgiving, dont really notice it that much through the month. Maybe 150 a month extra.. 6. Hello Ladies and Gentlemen, Vitaman_D here from 189. I'm looking forward to participating in this forum. A little about me, My Journey with Cannabis began around 1995/6 where I experienced my first Joint. a few years later moved to The Sedgefield area where I learned how to grow outdoors. Back then it was mainly Swazi Gold and a handful of indica strains from Amsterdam. I then left the scene for 15 years and now Recently since the "legalization" I have started growing again and I'm really enjoying getting my hands in the soil its a great work of love and meditation for me. Much Love, and thanks for having me.

  7. Shot guys don't make me feel old now, I'm only 34 Yea that whole garden route zone between wilderness and Knysna is, in my opinion,THE best place for outdoor growing in South Africa, The soil is so so rich. all you need is a good water supply and some sea grow and before you know it you have trees 3/4 meters tall. and if topped properly you can realize yields of 2.7Kgs from a single tree. its incrediblely fertile there. i miss it. hope to purchase some land up there soon,

I've just got a lot of exactly the same grow stuff as you and I'm about to start Doing 5 x White Widow XXL Autos from Dinafem I got at at cannabisseeds.co.za with the same Freedom pots and classic medium you have. Super excited to get started. Growing some bag seeds as well right now but most amped for the Auto! Will create grow diary when I start. Lekker man!

  12. IMO it depends on soil, strain and external factors. You may have a few fails, but once you get the hang of it, it's not hard. Each person believes in their own soil mix, but generally all contain potting soil, peat and perlite or vermiculite. I like a 40/40/20 mix, but each grower to his own opinion. 14. FloraFlex are worth it for sure. They make watering easy and even, especially when you have lots of plants. The increased rootzone due to the blackout they provide allows the roots to colonize the upper cube and stops the algae. Great product, respect to GTHydro for stocking them.

  16. Ok so the process has started. Got my 40L fabric pot and freedom farms mix soil (looks fantastic). Germination went well, 2 days in wet paper towel. Now planted into a small pot and built a rig with leftover mesh to protect the pot. Also it’s standing in a black label quart case to increase drainage and airflow. Put it under a big tree we have so it can get some rays but not too much that can damage it. What would you guys suggest on watering and when to add nutrients? I know the soil remain slightly wet. From what I vould gather I think I’ll add nutes once I transfer to the big pot in +-11 days depending on the growth rate. Any suggestions and ideas/comment will be appreciated. Oh and btw, don’t worry the quarts are already empty Shweeties Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
