  1. I think the soak is where i fucked up. didnt let them soak til they cracked, didnt know you were supposed to. left them for 24 hours and just took them out, none cracked. and yes, theyre bought seeds from breeders, but its bulk seed bank. thanks man, will definitely try that. going to speak to biltong and budz and find out if we can get store credit for the ones that failed to germ, add a bit of bucks and hopefully get some proper genetics. thanks man, wont be giving up. just sudden bursts of disappointment.
  2. not sure if this post is still alive, need some help though, germinating seeds seems to be going horribly wrong. some are completely fine, while other are just not doing much of anything, with the same method. we tried germinating 4 seeds, in cotton, on a plate with cling wrap over, 2 germinated fine, tap root came out, one has died since, put it in soil, and it just never came out of the shell, the other two have been in the cotton for just over a week now, with no growth. really not sure what we are doing wrong =/ tried the same method with bag seed, and not a single hiccup, all of them sprouted. any advice, please guys? considering throwing in the towel with growing. pics attached are of the two in the plate.
  3. Probably right bru. Fuck the popo. Neighbours are chilled, so I should be fine.
  4. we don't fall under restricted airspace (as far as I Know) police helicopters fly over often. dodge area near by, plenty of commercial planes too. more concerned about the helicopters.
  5. I read that, the leaked one? From what I gathered, 100 grams is personal use, and 2 flowering plants. They just took the old laws concerning personal use and decriminalized that. It's laughable tbh. Though I might be mistaken and I hope I am.
  6. Bru! I am so tempted to, but I'm so paranoid about cops. Lots of helicopters fly over here, and I'm thinking 10 fully grown outdoor plants might not be considered personal use, although I definitely plan on using it, oils and what not.
  7. Hey guys, so I got quite a few beans by B&B, probably too many considering I'm planning an outdoor grow. Got some pretty big strains too. Northern lights, guerrilla glue, bigger bud, and a few others. 8 seeds in total. I also got some bio nitro, bio neem and mycoroot. Cleared out a 7 x 7m space of garden, where grass used to grow, have some homemade compost that's been going for about 3 months, but it's winter, doesn't seem broken down enough. I reckon I will get 20% shade cloth just to hide the plants from above. What I came to ask though, is how many plants should I plant? How many is too many? I already have two in the space, bag seed, of some well grown outdoor shit, still young, but I have grown attached to them, did me proud through the winter. Anything else I should consider? I thought the been would be enough after doing some light reading, seems like a good all round preventive measure. Thanks for reading my stoned rant. The excitement for the first grow is real.
  8. the other plants i have arent showing anny signs yet, and theyre around the same age, 2 of them severely stunted. here's a pic of thesecondbiggest one. are those white hairs pistils? or way too early?
  9. some more photos before i kill it.
  10. and so it was foretold, i would slay an innocent soul. I shall burn him as a sacrifice to the ganja gods. such a shame, he was growing the fastest and biggest. oh well, off to kill my baby. thanks for the help mah dudes
  11. hey guys, i planted a few seeds about 10 weeks ago. none of them are showing any hints of their gender, except for this one, planted them as an experiments, but grown attatched to them, and the growth they made during the middle of winter. just feeding water, and a top dress of some homemade compost. is it a she?
  12. After some research, we've decided to just go for the fish mix. It's composed of grow and some added fishy goodness. Doesn't seem like there is much of an opinion on grow of fish mix in SA. Had to go looking on UK forums. Thanks guys. Regards J&M Sent from my MYA-L02 using Tapatalk
  13. Yeah, we won't push our luck. Will get one of those cheap ph testers. They should be fine? Exact same one someone was selling on the classifieds the other day. Sent from my MYA-L02 using Tapatalk
  14. Fuck. Was hoping I wouldn't have to ph. Thought the soil regulates the ph? More precisely the microbes and the plant. Sent from my MYA-L02 using Tapatalk
  15. Basically aerate a compost tea? What do you use to brew yours? Would a fish tank oxygenator be fine? Sent from my MYA-L02 using Tapatalk
  16. R80 for 50l. Amazing price, but I need nutes from grow guru, and there fabric pots are slightly cheaper. No point in paying twice for shipping.
  17. My girlfriend and I are planning on growing Jacky's girl, sounds pretty delightful. Has anyone tried this strain before? If so, any descriptions of the taste and/or high?
  18. Could you maybe provide a link to plant matter? Quick Google search revealed vegan hell holes
  19. Cool man. Was considering making my own. My girlfriend would be able to. But I've only been able to find weed gaurd fabric at builders for R200 for a 1m x 10m. Might do that though. What material do you use? And where did you find it? The biobizz will stretch that far? Great news. Think I will go with cannasmiths for beans, they're the most affordable with the royal queen brand, which is my favourite at the moment. Picknmix promo also looking lit at.
  20. That sounds incredible man. I plan on training, and all that. Will be sure to check in here when the time comes to groom my girls. On the super soil and promix, I have done some research, but I will be sure to check it out. Yeah, buying the FF or similar soil would be R1000 for 120l, I must admit, that dents the budget, plus the biobizz grow and bloom is another R600 for two 1l bottles, which I'm not even sure will do for 3 girls in one season, and don't even get me started on the over priced fabric pots Loving the community. Thanks again my dudes.
  21. Hi there. I'm seriously considering organic soil this round, but next time when I can afford to invest abit more into my growing, Hi there. I'm seriously considering organic soil this round, next season when I can afford to invest abit more into my growing, I'd love to give it a try, it also seems quite daunting and don't want to mess it up and get put off growing all together for my first grow. Please send the links, I would like as much information as possible. Thank you, May I ask what you had to buy, a small list of sorts of what nutrients and growing mediums you had to get for the perlite Coco grow? Are you growing indoor or outdoors?
  22. the help is much appreciated. thanks a million. will update in september on the grow
  23. thanks a lot guys, I'll go organic. probably freedom farm. are the 40l pots essential? because that would require R1000 worth of potting mix. if it will get me the best results, I definitely willl go that route. Should i also get freedom farms seed starter or can i use a general soil for starting the plants off? also, will i need to keep an eye on the PH once i start using biobizz or can i wing it?
  24. Hey guys, Completely new to growing. thrown a few seeds around to see what they do in the past, but never followed through. was hoping you guys could give me some advice, I'm planning an outdoor grow for this season, don't plan on investing too much, around R1500. the issue is I'm really unsure of which route I should go. Coco or organic soil. I've been looking into it, and the coco option is really appealing to me, but it seems daunting, and expensive for what i had in mind, and the organic option seems fine, but I'm not aiming for "fine". I made two separate lists for whichever grow I decide on. Coco perlite hortimix a,b and mpk (from hydroponics.co.za) 3x 20l Fabric pots (although I've read around 11l pots are good enough for coco) found a very inexpensive tds and ph meter combo on bid or buy, its the same model the hydro stores stock for around 400. some calmag, ph up & down and then the organics list is not as comprehensive, because I went down the coco rabbit hole. soil (obviously) considering the freedom farms premium blend, or the hydroherb promix organic which is 50l for around R300, but i cant find enough information on the ingredients, also found something called orgasoilux. 3x 20l Fabric pots maybe some perlite? all the potting mixes I've seen, say they feed for s short time, so which nutrients does one add after that period? would some vermicompost do? or would i be better off going for the hortimix combo as it can be used in organic soil too, but then the water has to be ph'd to make it available to the plant. basically I'm really keen on the coco, because I'm looking for quantity and quality bud, but I don't want to invest too much, and be too inexperienced to actually get a good yield, or even worse kill the plants. does anyone use the hortimix a,b and mpk, is it simple? I'm planning on getting some feminized seeds too. the royal gorilla, silver haze and utopic haze. will they do alright in our climate? can anyone suggest some good strains for outdoor container growing? whats the best local seedbank? any that have a no germinating return policy? thinking of going with biltong and buds or cannasmiths, thoughts? any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
