  1. Now that looks like some dank weed!
  2. If you want to use the plant for medicinal purposes it would be better to grow high CBD strains and extract the harvest into pure CBD oil (Phoenix Tears) and ingest it orally rather than smoking it. There are proven studies that extracting it into CBD oil and ingesting it is way more effective medicinally than smoking it. All the best!
  3. I think it will be better to use bigger pots, esp if you're only going to transplant outdoors in Spring. Also, isn't a 10W light way too little power light for those beauties?...
  4. @greenkush You are damn lucky to have that PAR meter. I checked that thing and it was R8,200 (incl. shipping) from Amazon! So that's why I got the shitty Hydrofarm LGBQM for R2,300. Hopefully I'll upgrade one day, when I'm no longer a 'surface breaker'
  5. @PsyCLown Got you, and thank you for your personal feedback. Helps me quite a bit with my decision.
  6. @PsyCLown isn't 3000K too little blue light for the veg stage?
  7. Hey guys, I found a really good valued COB LED oversees but there is one thing 'pulling me back, me back' from looking at buying it... It has one main switch which turns the entire thing on instead of 2 separate veg & bloom switches. Is this a problem? LED spec: Full spectrum - 56pcs Double Chips 10watt Bridgelux/Epileds LED Chips + 2pcs x20w CREE COB Kind Regards KN
  8. Great to see two lengthy opinions for each one. Appreciate it guys
  9. After 5 pages of reading QB vs COB I still know nothing more about differences and which ones I should go for
  10. @SkunkPharm Awesome! Thank for the explanation. Got you.
  11. @SkunkPharm Isn't one 4 cluster COB light too small for a 1 x1?
  12. Okay cool. Yeah I would prefer to stick with LED's. Thanks for the reply!
  13. Riiight, so true, haha! Well, for the lamp its up to R5K. Hope this helps.
  14. Hello ladies and gentlesmokers! Just a quick one here. If I have an indoor growing tent spanning 1m (length) x 1m (width)... 1) What wattage light will I need to cover the entire area effectively (especially the flowering stage), for highest yield? 2) How many plants should I grow in order to cover the whole 1m squared area, again for highest yield? 3) Should I get one big light (e.g. 600W (or whatever the efficient wattage is for a 1m x 1m area)), or two smaller lights (e.g. 2 x 300W) for the 1m squared grow space. [This question mainly has to do with PAR value distribution... The way I understand it, it may be better to get 2 smaller lights in order to spread the light intensity more evenly across the growing medium in order for the entire space to get a high average PAR intensity and not only the middle... Or won't it really matter as a 600W lamp (for example) will be capable enough to get a high enough average PAR distribution throughout the 1m x 1m grow space? All advice will be greatly appreciated! KN
  15. Thanks guys, appreciate the info. I'll def check them out. If anyone else has info on whether they work, or the yields are as good/better than HID's then post and I'll be sure to see it. Thanks!
  16. Never new Cannabis growers are such tech geeks as well!! Geez, I feel like such a noob here. I just came here because I wanted to know if COB LED's work well or not and whether they generate high yields... lol. Then I get all these guys not only using COB's, but actually assembling them themselves and talking about technicalities that are waaay beyond my capacity. lol.
