i guess this comes down to what information you got at the start.

I've also found that it is dependent on the type of person as well. I've setup some great grows for other people and given them any and all information they've needed when they needed it and short of me having to do the grow myself, they usually would move to other things within a year or two.

  2. If you'd like to get into something coming soon, check out the @THCSA Cape Town Cannabis Cup. Thread here. Application form and ticket links should be there as well.

With regards to our own 420SA Cup, I'm always down. Obviously the crowd was more present in the past as that was shortly after the 2018 Constitutional Court judgement which convinced most guys to start growing at the time, including me.

Vendors have also been short in supply. I can only imagine this is due to the high over-saturation of hydroponic goods in the market currently as well as the over-supply of second-hand equipment and electronics from guys thinking they could cut it one time perfectly in the first grow. Howzit loadshedding. So spare cash to advertise on a forum instead of just on places like FB or Instagram is a factor for them.

Lastly, it wasn't all too long ago that 420SA had an Instagram account but Lord Zuck decided to wipe it off the planet for some reason and another account wasn't made. This probably also lead to less organic traffic heading our way.

It's a hard sell to get new guys into growing with this loadshedding kak. It's already hard to learn how to grow by yourself.

Stressing a female near harvest produces more trichomes if i understand correctly. By stressing a male during flower should technically have the same effect in the form of pollen production then. Correct me if im wrong.

You might also hermie your females so it is a delicate balance.

I know that this is an ancient thread but will my 30w floodlight be able to keep my mother plant in veg state indefinitely? My ppfd readings seems on par though. Just need to keep it about 20cm from the canopy.

Yes to keep the mother plant in veg that 30W will be enough. To be safe you can also run it 24h seeing as it's such a low wattage and loadshedding vibes.

Hi guys I can't seem to make up my mind between two super soils has anyone used any of these 2 or can recommend a good quality super soil

I wouldn't trust a bag soil mix to use as water only. You will either burn your seedlings or you will need to add something at the end to boost the flower.

Have a look at KIS Organics and have a read of some of their articles, you can even listen to the first few episodes of their podcast that will give you a good baseline idea of what should go into a proper super soil that truly is water only (maybe plus a compost tea or two).

Point I'm making is that no real medium is going to be water only if you truly want optimal results.

Looks like an internode where a leaf used to be...chewed off or something

Lol if they mean that then I feel like a doos because I'm seeing little bumps along the stem. If they mean just where the plant has been pruned then ja, plant has been pruned.

Hey guys there is strange bumps on a plant growing by my inlaws I have never seen these bumps on a plant of mine just curious as to what it is Thanks in advance

I see what you mean, but it doesn't look to be detrimental to the plants. Maybe a particular insect is making visits which is causing the bumps but nothing quite comes to mind.

Keep a watch out and if you see the plants struggle we can take it from there unless somebody else maybe knows what's up.

I'm no pro cloner but here is what i do:

Take healthy cutting. Cut at 45deg just below an internode. Immediately place in glass jar filled with water to prevent air bubbles travelling up the cut. When ready, take cutting, dip in rooting hormone and place into soaked jiffy pellet. Then into humidity dome. Spray dome's lid with water and keep vents closed. Place in indirect light for 24 hours. After 24hours place under direct light. PPFD reading 200-400. Open dome lid once or twice a day to allow fae. Keep lid sprayed with water for humidity. Temps 21-27 celcius and humidity 70%-90%. After cuttings started showing roots, start hardening them off by opening dome vents slightly more every day. If wilting occurs increase humidity by closing vents. When ready transplant into solo cups with a very light feeding. Pot up once roots poke from drainage holes. Sorted

Sounds pretty pro to me :investigating perfect advice.

i remember something like that yes bought some dinafem critical + seeds, the auto version arrived and nothing germinated

They were the only people at the time that sold Dinafem, I had the Deep Sweet Grapefruit. Was fortunate to have just one seed germinate which at the time was all I needed 😆
