  1. Update. Soo it's been going good, besides the spider mites that came for a visit but have them under control. Still no nutrients and leaves been fading but that is due to harvest approaching fast. These buds are huge had to do a few on the spot redneck diy ideas to support them as they are getting heavy. Haven't been able to do a clean up of the old leaves but will do it shortly. The top of the main cola seems Abit weird but that might be heat stress due to it being close to the light. Very happy with the results up to now. I will take a picture of the RES, to think a while ago I was trying to run everything sterile. Now my RES would be a sterile growers worst nightmare. *Shot guys for all the information on the forum and to the Tea_King (Crex) for the push I needed to dump that first AACT into the RES.
  2. Update long overdue. As we all know plans don't always pan out with the plants, this lady was due for flowering a while ago but due to work and unforseen traveling she was not moved into flowering untill two weeks ago. Not totally a bad thing as she got a chance to finish off in winter with hopefully no males around. Repotted her into a make shift crate pot. She took off with the new space and was pushing bud sites all over. She was left out side to do her thing and due to lockdown the neighbor finally got to install his new floodlight for the back, and Bam that's my whole backyard lit up. A few late night braai's and they kept that light on through the night. I couldn't move the plant to the front because the street light is hella bright, no space in the garage and the Mrs just gave me the eye balls when I mentioned bringing her indoors. I finally made some space in the garage and then I saw those buggers, BALLS!! So the neighbor got a lesson in saving electricity especially at night when there is flowering girls around. Luckily I still have a few more seeds and going to pop them into water today. I will continue with this dairy with the new seedlings soon..
  3. Yeah I totally missed my opportunity to do scrog this round and will also do it next round to fill the gaps abit better
  4. I have done 3 different strains from seedsman all photos, Critical purple kush , badazz og cheese and their cookies& cream. I can't complain about what I have grown from them, the cheese is the first round and will keep a few clones. Critical purple kush is fire and a keeper as well, flowery fruit punch smell all the way and I got lucky with n very nice pheno. Busy flowering 3 clones from this lady. (right top coner is Chocolope) Their cookies & cream was just perfect, I never took clones and really pissed I didn't. So for me it's been a good run with seedsman and looking forward to try more of their gear. Currently have a seedsman northern lights auto going as well.
  5. Nice selection brother. I have a Seedsman badazz Og cheese that is about 5/6 weeks into flowering, and the mature Gouda smell is stinking up the whole block, smells like someone making grilled cheese sandwiches. You plan on any training for the plants?
  6. Very nice result! Always lekker to have a variety, did you manage to take a clone from the Elvis before flip? You say you have your next round going, which beans did you choose?
  7. yeah I'm using a pump system but no air stones. Thanx for the advice I will definitely make a change and do an airlift system. This photo was taken 28/03 This is 02/04 Then we have on 05/04 And this one is today 08/04 Been giving her rain water and then nutrients from the biofilter #1 mentioned above. Going to give her some tea when the next batch is done.
  8. All those amendments added up to almost a tablespoon of dry amendments that was added. The aim is to have this system be continuous and recycling, Running for a long while to break down everything that gets added. Hopefully works like wine and only get better with time? whenever I take out some "nutes" from the bottom RES I will add the same amount of clean water to the top and have that filter though to the bottom and have all of that recycle through the system again. I finished a second system lastweek and was thinking of doing this one with more phosphorus and potassium inputs, like grind up pumpkin seeds, coffee grounds, bat guano, lucerne meal, mushroom compost and a few other. This is all experimental and going to be a learning curve. If this is possible to do from seed to harvest in hydro with these "nutes" added will it be considered an organic hydro grow?
  9. @CreX thanx for the advice will keep some Nutes close by. I have the system running for about 3 weeks now and got a positive reading for nitrate. Not sure my knowledge on this subject is nearly enough to be able to determine if it is the right food for the plants. I have a plant that received some of this solution and she seems happy. No Nutes in the Res,only AACT and that "nitrate water". She is going into week 3 of flowering I topped up with some more clean water and added a few more things to the top. (EWC, dried banana peel, kelp meal, insect frass, blood meal, turbo grow, mycoroot). Guess I should do some more research, but doing this as I go will give me a better understanding of what's happening and what is needed. All advice is greatly appreciated.
  10. Looking good man, some nice spears there!
  11. Well I'm not going to give it any nutrients from bottles or salts (I think). I want to try something but not sure if it is considered fully organic. I hope the guys on the forum could help with some input. what I'm trying to do is: (build this system already) "1. Day one, add worm castings to inoculate the system. Cycle the system for 24 hrs. 2. Day 2. Add a small amount of amendments like fish meal, etc or your dry, organic fertilizer. I'd add about 2 tsps or so (C:N ratio of around 10:1 works best). This goes in the top. Continue cycling or cycle for a few hrs and then just circulate in the lower reservoir. 3. Days 3 and beyond, add amendments at the same rate each day and do as in step 2. 4. Day 5, you can check for nitrate using the API or other such test kit. You should start seeing nitrate within 5-7 days (in theory). 5. Once you are registering some decent nitrate, you can use the leachate directly in your hydro system or add to potted plants as fertilizer. 6. To use, remove half of the nutrient solution (yes, you have to have a drain in the reservoir to remove this easily). Add up to 1 T of new amendments each day and keep the reservoir topped up. 7. You should be able to do this daily or every few days as needed. Just make sure to check for nitrate to make sure all is going well. (credit: Keith) " Will this be considered organic? From what I understand the microbes will break down whatever you add.
  12. Hallo, @420SA No hydro Nutes at the moment. I had some issues with this plant during a few hot days a while ago, root rot. The only option was AACT, since then it's only been AACT, with explogrow once. This was the roots that was left after a big lump came off full of slime. This is the roots today, only brow because of the tea. The leaves started looking better after a few days and kept getting better. And below is today
  13. Update: The plant is doing really good, fresh green growth and going strong. I have noticed the "balls" are getting less and a few days after that they were all gone. The RES never got a bad smell and the plant didn't wilt or look sick at all. Just continued to add AACT into the RES to build up the good guys. Will update some pictures soon.
  14. @Ill_Evan @PsyCLown Thanx for the advice, I have not done anything to it yet. I've done some searching on the net and some say its a household plant fungus, if it's good or bad that wasn't clear. The plant is looking healthy and no negative effects yet. I have isolated some of the "balls" to see if they hatch or what happens to them, they look more fluffy than slimy. They are multiplying and becoming more. I will keep an eye on the leaves and see if there is any negative reaction. Only tea in the Reservoir.
  15. Ah what a joy to grow, so easy and no stress. She is so eager to be trained and her new growth just shoots out. I have taken 4 clones and they on their way to rooting, the mother plant will be moved into flowering this weekend as she is ready for the next stage. Very spicy smell at the moment but nothing I can pin point.
  16. @Dank yeah i also think its eggs. Jeez
  17. @Ill_Evan plant was looking bad but that was due to root rot but that has gone away since giving teas. Roots are healthy, the top has recovered nicely with green healthy growth. The plant is actually getting better the last 2 weeks, there is no slime on the roots or res, only feeding AACT in the Res. I think this plant was in a small container with some soil, then moved to the net pot with some perlite and became a hydro plant.
  18. Good afternoon everyone, going through the plants and checking if everything is okay I came across something terrible (I think). Does anyone what this is? This is on a DWC setup and only one pot has it. Brown roots are due to AACT
  19. Not much going on due to limited space at the moment, will probably take a few clones this weekend and then onto flowering. If she leaves a good impression during flowering I will keep one of her clones for a while, trying to build up a decent selection of good mothers to keep the flower room popping and do a nice outdoor run end of this year.
  20. @Dank Explode is correct, damn she just took off. I placed her in the flowering room and she just went crazy under the hps lights, gave her a decent dose of tea she totally loved it. (plant on the right) Doing some LST and going to get a few clones, then she will be allowed to go permanently to the flower room, not going big this round just want to get some ladies done flowering.
  21. Some more updates: Going strong with the teas, brewing one every 4 days or so, really happy with the effects in DWC and have been sharing the reaming teas with the neighbors and their plants are all very happy. Well here is some photos, This was about two weeks agoand now we have this The new roots are white and super healthy, I have not changed the RES, only added tea twice, and Booom!! It's amazing how the new roots go crazy after the tea! @CreX thanks for all the advice and your time to share your knowledge and really help people, this thread saved me from dumping my whole DWC system.
  22. What's happening guys! All good this side. No complaints.. Have one confirmed Female, she was transplanted and got some attention from the Lil Gardner wiThis some help of his trusted helicopter checking for pests. Did some lst and snapped the main stem, so got a nice clone and topping from it.
  23. Update time: Good morning fellow growers, some nice growth the last few days, have been giving them some of AACT and they really enjoying it. Did some closer inspection this morning and found balls, they won't get to see the end of the day. This is the end of the road for this guy, but not the end of the grow, I still have two more that must show their stuff. I will probably pop 3 more beans to find another female.
  24. Good Morning All.. I think it is the 68L tote I use as a res and about 25L water in there. Today i have some photos to show of the progress, I gave mu plants two feedings of tea so far and have kept two plants as control plants. ~ Lets do the control plants first, this plant is really suffering with a big blop of slime and roots just broke off and fell into the sterile res. This plant have not received any tea and just doing the regular cleaning and res change weekly. I call her C-1 ~ This plant will have a hard time ahead as a big part of the roots are missing now. ~ Now for C-2, she is doing okay but not thriving and her leaves shows signs that she is struggling down under ~ C-2 roots were covered in slime and i have decided to rather give her a tea than lose her completely, she received a tea 2 nights ago. ~ Now for the main plant where the tea has been tested. ~ This lady was covered by slime and no new growth at all before i started with the tea. All i did was add the tea to the res, and one cup of the tea i poured slowly over the roots. This res is going on three weeks now and only been topped up with rain water and with the teas that was brewed for 48 hrs. ~ This was my first time experiencing the brown slime and i just added a simple tea with things i had at home. ~ Thanks @CreX for the advice, you have converted a sterile grower to a tea brewing maniac. I even started getting all the parts together to do a proper vortex brewer as well.
  25. @CreX just want to ask, i noticed that my PH drops quite a bit in 24hrs, when i added the tea it was at 6.2 ,then the following morning it was at 4.9. I used some PH up and got it back to 5.9 but next day it was back down to 5.0 is that normal?
