  1. Yeah apparently pure swazi, malawi and DP are low/devoid of cbd, but what has happened over the last few decades with the constant attacks on those genepools, skunk was introduced at some point by breeders working with the locals and there you find a lot of CBD influence was introduced. There must still be untainted populations out there, but the bulk of what we get smokes different from bud to bud, so populations are very mixed imo. It will be great when labs will be able to legally start testing locally. We will definetely get a much clearer idea of what's what.
  2. A landrace sativa or any pure sativa will never couch lock you. That is a very indica based trait to couch lock. Most of our landraces have a really high CBD ratio that is often 1:1 or close with regard to THC which is a plus. Using the 50/50 or whatever ratio on trichs is a good guide with hybrids that have indica influence as the indicas are usually really high in THC, low CBD, and the THC mostly degrades to CBN which is the one with the most notable couch lock effect. Honestly, if you have a landrace sativa, mostly amber you cant go wrong.
  3. You'll find she wants less water now, and the fan leaves yellowing is normal for this time of the season. Please dont try correct it with a nitrogen feed. You will surely slam on the brakes there instantly. You can only really be sure on flowering times with known genetics. With bag seed regardless from what bud it came will more than likely be a long flowering (16-20 weeks) landrace or very sativa dominant. Be patient. Harvesting that bud a week to early is ruining it imo. Especially if it is landrace. You really want almost all those trichomes amber.
  4. Well it does seem that the article is incorrect. On the DC's facebook page they have said it is infact applicable nationally.
  5. One would think that the High court enjoys a bigger jurisdiction ie the whole country as opposed to the magistrates courts
  6. Guess it sucks if you aren't in the WC.
  7. Consider that after the pistil brown the calyxes still need to swell considerably before ready to harvest. It can be another 2 weeks or a month. Patience is worth it.
  8. The way i see it, is that once we are clear on whats allowed and whats not legally, it would be great to trade seeds (possibly swop as opposed to buy.) There is going to be so much variety available that sharing it freely becomes a real possibility. As to how to do it. Its a community thing and I would like feedback. Actually strange how quiet the forum is considering...go figure.
  9. And the site footer seems inaccurate.
  10. So admin, surely now we can start exchanging seeds on here. What does the rest of the forum think?
  11. ^^^ What he said admin. . We can have the first cannabis cup in spring!!!!
  12. The leaves are no indication of readiness. Get a jewelers loupe and monitor the trichomes.
  13. You know, I've had 1.5m plants scattered all through my veg garden next to the beans among the mielies etc. And people stand a meter away and dont notice. Cannabis really dissapears well into a mixed green background like a bushy veggy patch. Standing on its own, it sticks out like a sore thumb.
  14. I read through this last night, and those regulations are a load of horseshit. There is soooo much redtape there that covert growing like we do now is the way forward. Honestly they can go and fertilize their gardens with that.
  15. Looking really healthy, and difficult to see the height but it does look like you have some decent height their. Hope the flowering goes as smooth as veg did.
  16. And...where do people like me, breeders fit in? To breed I need to be able to grow.
  17. Dont get me wrong, its great it is opening up where it is, I am afriad its not a step in the right direction at all. As soon as regulation gets capital investment, then that regulation becomes the very tool that big pharma and other stakeholders can use to fight for keeping it there and not just releasing it as it should so I couldn't add anything to proposed regulation as I do see it as the law makers wanting to add more injustice to an already unjust law. I couldn't with any good conscious thought assist in helping these law makers close the door on me the average joe. I dont do the hoop jumping thing. Im rather anti establishment and anti regulation, and the reclassifying of cannabis from schedule 7 to 6 is the only positive I currently see. Just that already makes growing your own less dangerous. Again, I keep coming back to cost. I can see the framework largely failing, since it is the high cost of good cannabis that sparks 90% of growers to start growing. Legal cannabis is going to cost more than what it currently costs. South Africa is a mostly really poor country, and this will ultimately collapse the framework, as more and more people will disregard the law and grow their own or continue to buy that kg of outdoor from the oke doing his thing on the side.
  18. I hear what you are saying. My point is who is going to set what standard and whats the buy in. Having to buy a license(which will probably be payable monthly) just sounds like a pre arranged monthly admission of guilt fine for growing. All this regulation and quality standards control is also going to cost money. Actually the framework will cost money to implement and maintain. All of which will transfer into ridiculous cannabis prices. I can just see our proudly south african version now. Another runaway gravy train the average joe is all paying for. I feel very strongly about cannabis being as benine as any other plant, and it should be freed, not tied up in even more law. But thats just my opinion and I suppose not in the spirit of this thread, so back to my pedistal.
  19. If the framework does not include us growing our own medicine, then it's a moot point to even try making any suggestions. Regardless of the law change, I will be growing my own before having to pay the govt. Or big pharma when Im quite capable of doing it myself.

    CURLING LEAVES

Its a bummer that she reacted like that. Just more proof that it is a shorter flowering pheno. I would flush her and let her dry out. Are the calyxes swelling yet? She will still finish well.
  21. They are begging for more light. Youd get a better spread turning that CFL horizontal. I would also add more light. At least another 2 of them at that low wattage.
  22. Why so concerned with purple stems on DP? Its got a pretty dominant purple streak. Imo you are causing a lockout trying to focus on that purple.
  23. I wait until the 4th node before I start feeding. Let those roots go and search for food and water. There is still more than enough nutes in that large volume.
