  2. That was just after an hour of the AC being on. I suppose you also have to factor in the en suite bathroom which is about 1.5mx3m. The bathroom door has to stay open cos the AC needs to be exhausted out the bathroom window which stays slightly open... Anyway, Checked the conditions just before lights off this morning. Humidity was 48% and the temp was 29. Ive got the drainage from the AC going into a 20L bucket and the bucket was half full this morning. AC is definitely making a positive difference
  3. Ok got the AC up in the room. Its been running for an hour and already the humidity is already down to 62% in the tent. Great success! Temp is at 28.8 which is reasonable I guess There's a company that rents out dehumidifiers in my area. Gonna see how one of those do and then decide from there
  4. I dont sleep in the same room no. My AC has a heating function which also dehumidifies, tank has been filling up really quick lately actually. Heating is very mild though so I reckon that should do the trick. I was also thinking about sealing the room and exhausting into the room, was thinking about doing that with a dehumidifier, which should also work right? Shot for the help!
  5. Lol the next time I need a piss in the night I'll quickly go check the levels Right now the humidity inside the tent is 79% dude... outside it's not budging from 78%. it's seriously concerning... temp outside is 18, inside the tent was similar(lights off now) The weather has been typical cape winter weather lately... cold, rainy and overcast. I also stay fairly close to the ocean so that also exacerbates the humidity issue. I could use my portable AC as a temp solution but the room is upstairs and this portable AC is not so portable. Gonna be a helluva mission getting it up a flight of about 15 stairs needs to be done though
  6. Getting a measurement halfway through lights on might be tricky seeing as my lights go on at 8, which makes 2am the halfway stage. The rest I will try do
  7. I'm looking to buy a dehumidifier for the bedroom my tent is situated in. My humidity reaches 70% quite often and going into week 6 now, I can't afford to mess with high humidity. My tent passively draws air from the bedroom and exhausts air through the bedrooms en suite bathroom. The bedroom is about 5mx5m in size. Would the unit in the pic below do the job? http://www.dampcontrol.co.za/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=21&products_id=75
  8. Right now I'm running a 600w hps globe in a 150x150 tent and my temp sits at 25 degrees(lights on at night). An AC will probably push the temp too low, especially during lights off when the temps drop to 19 sometimes depending on outside temps.... Most portable AC's do have a dehumidifier mode but my AC's dehumidifier mode pretty much works like the aircon mode by expelling cold dry air, not sure how other portable AC's work.... You're going to use a 400w bulb right? Add an extra 100w for fans and extraction etc. and that's you using 500w for your grow. Now introduce a portable AC ,which draws upwards of 1200w and that's your power consumption more than tripled just by adding an AC for dehumification. Keep in mind that some of the older portable AC's draw as much as 3000w!!! Put that against a dehumidifier which draws about 160w to 250w and a dehumidifier in winter seems to make much more sense to me. You also might find yourself upgrading to a 600w bulb eventually as well with that big tent, so you might want to spare as much wattage as you can. It's tricky here in the cape with our cold humid weather during winter. Mold and pm can become quite a worry. In the long run I reckon a dehumidifier will save you money, despite their large price tag. Keep in mind the drying process as well, where the ability to control the humidity is ideal. A good second hand deal will always help as well
  9. You'll have to factor in the electricity consumption of the AC unit though. I've got a portable AC but I'm seriously considering buying a dehumidifier to take care of the humidity because of the power draw of an AC
  10. Good initiative! How exactly do these bins work? Like bokashi? Wouldn't hurt to chuck a couple earthworms in there to speed up the process?
  11. I tried out George Cervantez's h2o2 bath at the end of last year on my one plant which was quite badly affected by PM and I was quite chuffed with the results. Potency was still right up there, the only downside I noticed was that the bud had lost quite a bit of its aroma Would I recommend it? If your plant is badly effected by PM, yes! Your method also sounds good Trailblazer, if not safer :thumbups
  12. There's no problem sharing links to other forums bro, as long as the link has no connection to a financial gain its all good. Would be keen to see your log :thumbups As for this comp... you haven't got a plant going at the moment?
  13. Great looking lady there My apologies for not including the link to the comp rules @TrailBlazer Please read the comp rules HERE

  16. Welcome Trailblazer! Have we see you in these parts before?
  17. I think all will agree that CK's last entry deserves to take the badge. Congrats CK
  18. @Toby your plants are doing well without being fed! Would you be partial to a bit of recipe sharing?
  19. Update* Latest Topics block has been moved to the top for mobile
  20. I did notice that. It's possible to expand and close each box if you didn't notice the button. (see the attached pic) which will make it easier to get to the latest topics...but....what I will work on soon is rearranging the boxes specifically for mobile with the Latest Topics obviously taking much higher priority. As I say there are still issues to address, we're in the beta phase now so to speak. This feedback is key to me improving it. Skolley, as someone who works in the web business, I know for a fact that this site was not mobile friendly. Mobile browsing must be free of side scrolling and zooming constantly on elements, which you prefer. In the interest of keeping up to date, I decided to make the site mobile friendly. You'll get used to it soon enough I assure you. I just ask for your guys patience while we polish this one up
  21. Ah i see. Well in that case @CerealKilla its no problem bud. Enter them in the same pic. No problem!
