  5. Thanks guys! This is for a birthday present for my wife, so unfortunately a slightly used vape won't be ideal. She suffers from chronic back pain and insomnia. Had a good look at the products that you mentioned, but decided to bite the bullet and go for a Mighty as it looks like it will last the longest and give the best quality vapor available in a portable (cordless desktop[emoji23]) vape. Not the "Budget" option that I had in mind, but sometimes: "Goedkoop koop is duur koop." Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Completely annihilated the piggy bank and got another 400W HID[emoji16] Should make life easier with the big size difference between plants and increase harvest. Screwed the HPS bulbs in today, going to do a res change tomorrow and switch to 12/12 - Really need to get to enjoying the fruits of my labour! To help with good air circulation, I stuck two 220V computer fans into my air inlet ducts. Still battling with falling PH, but I'm taking daily PH and PPM readings and trying to establish a pattern. 8. Hi Guys & Girls, vaporizers are expensive and there are just to many to choose from for a nube like me! I'm looking for a good portable dry herb vaporizer that I can buy locally. Anyone with experience? Can you please point me in the right direction? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Those babies look happy. Keep posting picks every week, that makes a nice visual progress update. I'm busy with my first grow and found the feedback on this forum very useful in sorting out some issues. Always nice to see healthy plants, big or small. 10. Thanks Jland, still playing with nute concentration to try and solve my dropping PH problem. Can you remember what ppm you fed your AK48s? Except for having to correct PH daily, the WRs are doing great and drinking well. The AK48s aren't drinking as much, but they are smaller than the WRs[emoji855]. I've come to the conclusion that I need more lights[emoji23], but the budget isn't going to allow that for this grow. Manifolding on the WRs turned out very satisfactory. Trying to decide when to change to 12/12 with the big difference in size between the plants. My single 400W HID isn't going to support any huge plants so I think I'll give the WRs another week or two in veg and then go to 12/12, focus on getting a good harvest from the WRs and salvage what I can from the AK48. Practice makes perfect! The next grow will be Blackjack from Nirvana. Another one of the kids, Chica, showing her support. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Just a quick pic with my cell of the progress[emoji271] WR doing well, AK48 struggling a bit. But that's the nature of learning. Having this forum to get feedback, speeds up the learning process though. Still on the trail of my PH problem, time will tell. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Thanks narnia, this is awesome info. Before I start with my analysis based on this info, I want to run EC vs PPM by you. Apparently there are different conversion factors to get from the one to the other, would it be a safe approximation to take EC 1 as equivalent to 500ppm and then work from there according to your plants? I don't think I have a CO2 (acid rain) problem, my pumps are in the open tent in a 3 x 3m room that gets ventilated twice a day far from any busy streets or other pollution. I can't easily permanently ventilate the entire room due to close proximity to neighbors and street. AK48: Falling(slowly) Static Falling. As my nutes are currently at around 390ppm I think more nutes to get it to 500-700ppm (EC 1-1.4) - Note 2. WR: Falling Falling Falling. Nute levels at 325ppm, so I think they need more nutes too to get EC up - Note 2. I dissolved some nutes and added to the tanks to raise both with appr. 100ppm as a stopgap and test. Will do a total res change again over the weekend. Thanks for the help narnia. I will take pics over weekend too - some nice progress since previous pics. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Hi Jland, the pooch's name is Pikkie, she's my shadow - a real skootbrakkie[emoji16] narnia, it seems I was premature with my conclusion about the PH. Did a res change on Saturday and now I have the PH dropping on me daily again - both reservoirs! Checked the calibration of the PH pen and it's on the dot. Can't figure this out[emoji45]. Maybe someone had a similar problem and can give advice? The WRs are doing awesome and growing like mad, but the AK48 is growing very slow even-though the leaves and roots look healthy. Can this be because of insufficient nutrients for this strain? All and all, I'm having a ball growing these girls. Can't wait to go spend some time with them every afternoon [emoji16] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  15. Just a couple of pics to the girls turning into promising teenagers 1st WR 2nd WR AK48 I'm ecstatic about the fast healthy growth![emoji16] Going to do a res change again this weekend and up the nutes a bit. Another one of my very interested observers [emoji4] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I went through your great recommendations. Checked the calibration on my PH pen, "fondled"[emoji104] the roots to check for any signs of trouble, etc. - Nothing[emoji52] So myself and I had a long discussion about what could be different between the two reservoirs and that got me on the trail of this very unlikely culprit. The only difference between the two reservoirs was the type of airstones that I used, so I swopped them around and suddenly the other reservoirs' PH started dropping[emoji855] I bought this rubber "airstone" that can be bent into any shape at the local petshop. When I deducted that this air diffuser must be what's causing my PH dropping, I cut it open to see what they used to keep it in shape when you bend it. I found what looks like very thick soldering wire running the length of the rubber pipe. Not sure of the composition of the wire, but once removed the PH stabilized. I don't think fish are going to do to good in a tank with this air diffuser either [emoji856] SO: DON'T use this type of air diffuser without removing the wire inside[emoji271] Concerning the browning and droopy leaves, I stopped the pumps and drippers and that seems to have done the trick - Thanks. 2nd attempt.

The little rascals look happy [emoji4] I like your grow box, but I would at least put a small computer fan in there for air circulation inside the box. In summer you may need an extractor fan to keep the heat down. I'm busy with my first grow (hydro) and I have to AC my grow area to keep the water temperature down. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. QUESTION 1 What causes PH to drop from 5.5 to 4.8 in a day if everything else looks good? The reservoir with the WR (painted white lid) did this two days in a row. Each time I addad 0.5ml PH Up to the 40 liters to get is back to 5.5. The other res with the AK48 stays glued on PH 5.9. Foliage and roots look healthy??? QUESTION 2 The older leaves on the AK48 are showing signs of something off. I still have the nutes at the low level I started with (340ppm) because the plants seem to do well (and I don't want to mess with something that works). Does this look like it could be nutrient deficiency? Opinions? I would like to catch any pending disaster long before it happens [emoji15][emoji51][emoji855][emoji271] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. My gardening companion likes to relax in the corner[emoji4] Some pics of the nicely recovered roots. AK48 roots. WR roots.
  20. Thanks for the advice narnia. The roots are beautiful after the previous issues, will get some pics of that soon.
  21. I have removed all the lower growth on the two larger plants and started LST to start building the manifolds. The smaller WR was also topped above the 3rd node. I could not make up my mind about the "sick" AK48 plant, but considering its slower growth, decided to rather FIM this little runt and see what she does. They are still on a 0.3g/l nutrient concentration and seem to be healthy and growing well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. This would make a VERY nice addition to my budding setup[emoji16] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Hi grunterfish, Where did you get it from and price pls.
  24. Pictures seem to have gone AWOL?
  25. Wow, can't wait to see this setup in action!!! Lots of pics once you get going PLEASE!
