  1. Ah, that sounds better Find what works for your strain(s), nutes and setup. I've peaked out at 1.8 EC (0.2 base water 1.6 nute) and generally sit a bit lower. Duracell's girls would've cried at that strength, mine would be deficient at the ±1.1EC levels Duracell's liked. If you're sampling the res. to check EC (and pH) regularly, you should get an idea of their needs based on any EC flux or marked flux in water level or pH, more often than not the res. *could* let you know what's up before the plants do.
  2. Welcome 420Gardener[/member] Stoked to see another hydro grower. Looking good m8, and if you're having success stick to what works for you! As Budwizer mentioned, the PPM is jacked, especially if the conversion is x500 scale. As you're already netted in, you're probably pretty fixed for this run, but for the next, I'd recommend trying for a larger res. if you can find the space. I switched from a 20 liter bucket to a larger 45 liter tote (mid run) and pH is so much more stable with the extra water capacity.
  3. (Disclaimer: not enough experience reusing, so would wait for others to concur.) You can defo reuse your coco. I've only reused once then chucked for fresh batch. Mostly due to the perlite having broken down more than I'd like, as I'm sure you've seen: it can start to get powdery and then cakey. Apparently is good for a few reuses before the fibers start to compress. Obviously not advisable, though, if the run had any issues.
  4. Kirstenbosch - both for the live concerts and general chill. Biscuit mill, Hout Bay, and numerous other markets on weekends - munchies. Bottlenecks on beaches - this is crucial, really allow the dagga psychosis to sink in before going swimming. Don't think of the jaws theme.
  5. Thanks peeps Jland[/member] will defo do some, when and how much will still play with. Really hedgy, even with loads of lollipopping she still needed more. This strain/pheno seems will do better with less topping, rather than the extensive mainlining I've done, and probs SCROG'd out to control and leverage the branching. The frostiness is really making me want to trim wet and get some good fresh extract Budwizer[/member] Really tight. Had planned on having another bigger girl in a 10 liter fabric pot but thankfully opted to keep her as a mother and chuck a semi-bonsai'd girl in 1l stacked as high as I could brave it on rickety pots, as you can see The branching on the critical+2, and minimal stretch, was unexpected as it really hedged out and gobbled up space. There's a lovely looking sativa dom. which one can't even see, in a 10l fabric pot in the back corner so I'm quite stoked the critical looks like it's going to run longer than expected/advertised and interested to see how your's go.
  6. Thanks for the interest bro All going well. She's a hedge. On cruise control. I don't snap many pics, too busy trying to stay awake until lights on then priority tasks only such as ruining my eyes scoping trichs . Will take some at harvest as promised and wrap up this thread, and probs do a grow report. Here's two that I do have on my phone which don't show much. One is from a week ago showing someone my setup, the other is 3 days ago (Day 39) in shitty light looking at some frostiness.

    Time for some BS

Thanks, appreciated, will keep an eye out. I'm particularly interested as it seems to be the go to line for ebb&flow / flood&drain with coco, without draining to waste.

shadowassasin[/member] hey bud. Any more info on Canna line? Do you know who's going to stock it and when it will be available?
  9. I'll be well keen to hear how your flush goes. I'm also heading to flush soonish and thin on good DWC flushing practices; unfortunately for us, most of the forum seems to lean to organics, soil, a few coco, etc. Most info I've seen elsewhere is the standard argument and diatribe, with the exception of some peeps choosing to swing pH and lock their plants out, sound logic but I lack the balls to try. What's your POA for the flush?

    Toilet Bong

Argh, not before lunch. This dude's doing it wrong too and bypassing the water; you're not alone.
  11. Hhahaha, plebs unite! You peeps are a lagg. I guess there are a number of other factors at play as well, such as cost of extraction equipment, smoking equipment (dab rig, etc.), amount of material, time, risk, etc. which would influence choices.
  12. Each person has 2 votes, choose your top 2. Feel free to add any info expanding on your methods, or if I've overlooked anything comment away.
  13. How many amps does a 600w digital ballast pull? Watts divided by volts? Or does that not apply?
  14. Brave pioneers. R800 per gram? Dafuq. Perhaps extract/concentrate?
  15. GLO and Budwizer spot on. To add on a bit more: Wattage comparison will yield different lumen output, and when comparing to or amongst LED, one can't really use lumens too accurately, PAR rather than a lux meter / value is kinda needed. It's all about photon density. As to the spotlight / spectrum etc. Those LED spotlights have a very narrow beam angle, 15-30 degrees I guess? Which means very little spread and therefore quite intense light within the beam angle, requiring higher hanging heights than 90deg for e.g. 6000K is very blue for flower and shouldn't be used, unless as supplemental with a balanced spectrum. Need to be looking for more red dominant spectrum and this varies a bit depending on LED, CFL, etc. a 2700K - 3500K LED is often used, whereas with CFL one sticks with warm white around 2700K. If you're looking at wavelengths, tend to look for peaks at around 640-660nm odd, with other wavelengths filling out the spectrum. If you're confused af and want LED, but don't have time to research nor budget to get topshelf right now, go with a CFL build to get you moving quickly. Otherwise if want more medium/long term solution go with HID depending on space, cooling, etc.
  16. Not much know how on HID, but isn't that in fact advantageous?
  17. Barticle[/member] 420SA[/member] Awesome, thanks y'all!
  18. OMG, you legend, thank you. Ignorantly I've never examined the Margaret Roberts bottle/packaging and had no idea it was a microbial product.
  19. Looking much happier. Nice When did you flip? Prior to the pics being taken.
  20. Are these pages even crawled/indexed? Also, assume ext. links nofollowed?
  21. That was your #420 post. EDIT At 4:20pm. you legend.
  22. Your peat pellets should have all the 'nutes' needed for your cuttings, with a bit of rooting hormone of choice added, IMO others are welcome to interject. I've had 100% success with peat pellets and plain pH'd water with a bit of bennies, [EDIT: cuttings dipped in some rooting gel]. Much less so with rockwool, though perhaps I did not use enough nute in the soak. Do you have a target EC / PPM Totemic[/member] ?
