  1. I only use the cfl for seedling and a bit of veg. I haven't used the hydrangea feed yet. The cfl can be bought at China Town at Century City branch only, they seem to be agent for a lighting company Called Ausma in Montague Gardens. If you not in cape town perhaps give them a shout on the Kempston park number. Only can find the Kempton park number. Kempton Park - 011 392 1757 Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  2. They certainly are looking way better. Been a week since changing up the soil and the leaves are some much more of a darker green than before. Did a feed yesterday of water and EM pro soil, that stuff is amazing in it lowers my ph to 6.5 which is spot on. Now I'm awaiting some freshly made humic and fulvic acid from a mate up north then we will be in action. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  3. Haven't had the time to follow too closely, but how are we looking in a nutshell? Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  4. You wanna look at the NPK values on the feed, during veg you want to have a high nitrogen value and during flower not so much nitrogen but more Potassium. So have a look into that if you doing soil you could feed compost tea with a animal shit in it that are high in Nitrogen with some molasses and a few micro nutrients you can find around, look around at some compost tea on the net along with sprout teas. Added to that make sure you have a good soil mix with good aeration. With regards to the Kelvin of the lights you should be using the +/- 6500k bulbs during veg and the +/- 3000k ones during flower. Don't add up the Kelvin. Here is a pic of a 6400k cfl Good luck Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  5. Are you referring to the organic promix from hortishop perchance? What do you mean by very hot? And by cook do you mean charge? Yes that's the mix, I'm no professional but the soil mix has way to much coco and no compost at all listed. The plants did like it at all even when I up potted the clones they reacted badly. I later found out the pro mix is not good for seedlings also, with coco comes a high salt content I suppose. A pic this morning they looking way happier, the leaves are showing me they loving it. 6. This looks like an interesting ride, I'm hoping on !! Good luck !! Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  7. One more thing, what Kelvin r the CFL? Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  8. I'll follow alone. As a seedling they don't need much, so after a few weeks what type of nutrients are you looking at? Where about in SA r u? Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  9. Looking great BTW Z Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  10. Think I saw one on one of the hydro shops site for about 300 bucks...not too bad Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  11. Here is the Pro Soil, all the talk and no pics [emoji85] Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  12. They where in fact struggling a bit, the next day things looked a little worse so grabbed some Freedom Farms soil. Also bought EM Pro Soil, and will be using A combination of Amino, Fulvic and Humic acid to feed the soil. For those growing in soil, check out a Duran based company called Efficient Microbes and grab some of their Pro Mix solution, it's been giving a fellow grower great results. The Pro mix will be fed through this weekend. Over and above that the plants are loving the new soil. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  13. Those LED are available in Cape Town Z, they are sponsoring a light in the competition section. If you would like a direct contact number let me know. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  14. EM pro soil, Fulvic and humic acid and a little bio grow bud and that's it. Recently changed over to freedom farms soil mix, the organic mix done in house at the hydro shop is not that great, In fact I don't think they cook it properly so very hot. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  15. They looking fantastic man, congrats Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  16. Little update, the plants still look like crap and I'm thinking this so called Pro organic mix is not so Pro, looking like I have a magnesium deficiency so I foliar sprayed with some Kelpak, Epsom salts and molasses. Hope that sorts it out. I'm going to find the freedom farms soil and use that rather. Main point of the update is there is a light up for grabs in the competition section. Sponsored by Craig from Sanlight, please go and sign up. I'm confident in them so grabbed 2 and included it in the box. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  17. Thanks Craig for sponsoring the light or at least making it happen. For those that don't know the brand I will be buying one (may be the bigger one) soon and will add it to my grow box. Therefore those that are interested in watching how effective the light is may do so on my journal in a bit. It a European brand so hopefully should be good. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  18. Oh hang on you only have 30 posts, clearly no idea what you talking about. Sorry for actually responding to your statement, thought you knew what is going on. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  19. That IS definitely GG from Royal Queen seeds. Unless your saying a reputable company like that did us in? Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  20. Tricombs on some OG Kush and Gorilla Glue on the go !! Good luck all. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  21. Hey Z, been a little busy lately an unable to update...thought about HID but was attracted to the efficiency of the cobs in terms of PAR and PPFD and worried about summer heat, it's a little more difficult to cool down a space I would think. Anyway another little update of what's happening: Up potted the 2 clones as the leaves were showing a little yellow and I think it was a good thing by the look of the roots. Now I need your thoughts on this and there is some contradicting information out there. When it comes to feeding your plants is the correct PH going in important OR is it the PH that runs off that's important? Would live to hear the community thoughts on that. Have or had issues with lock out I think as bottom leaves of seedlings went yellow on the tips and burnt. The stems was Red and are a bit still, so is/was the clones although they say this can happen because of the LST. Thanks for the visit. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  22. Looking great bud, I'm expecting an invite to check out the setup. I have Elvis, Elvis Extreme. DC, Vanilla, CM, violator Kush, Ryno Rider clones if you looking for something different. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  23. What nutes r u using and how did you get rid of the yellow leaves when the plant was younger? Mine seedlings r starting to go yellow a bit. Oh r u using a organic soil? Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  24. Oh BTW. ..would be great if our winners could put up a grow journal, would love to see your cob set up Joe as I have just started with cobs. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  25. Well done guys. It was fun and thanks to the administration and sponsors [emoji106] Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
