  1. @CreX Hi bud, Thanks for your input, it helps!
  2. I geuss what I am asking, is hows the quality of the light, since my knowledge on the subject sits at zero as I have never personally used a LED light, never mind this specific one... as I keep saying I am a complete newbie to this entire process and at this time I am basing a lot of my decisions on what you very knowledgeable people say and do. TIA!
  3. Hi buddy Thanks for posting, wish you could have tested the light as I am interested in purchasing this light, please keep us posted.
  4. I was just curios about what is regarded as premium in SA The abovementioned tent looks awesome man. Thanks again
  5. @SkunkPharm Thanks for your input, I was really struggling to make up my mind behind these two tents, and you just helped me in making my decesion. Any opinions on the bud box ? What would be regarded as premium tent in SA? as an eg in the USA they have Gorilla tents
  6. @420SA He bud, does the timer make a difference??? Please see below articles: https://www.property24.com/articles/7-myths-debunked-about-switching-off-your-geyser/24814 https://www.bizcommunity.com/Article/196/701/95201.html
  7. Hey guys! I think I may have been doing this all wrong, by this I mean I should have been working out this thing "backwards". After discussing with @Prom what I realised was that I should look at my monthly consumption first as this will give me an idea on what size tent I will need. (Monthly consumption around 50g) Also these were his comments, posted below, (with his permission), regarding running costs. Lemme have your thoughts as well guys. The below text from @Prom does put "things" into perspective for me anyways. From @Prom : "I pulled 300g prime buds from the 1.2x0.6 in 3 months with a non effort grow, nothing but feeding the plants. 50g a month, no Sir, not the 1.2x1.2... way to big for you Autos perfect... you will have a good time, as long as all stays below 26 degrees. The 1.2x0.6 will set you back around 1k a month on electricity.. the 1.2x1.2.. 2k... and so on hehehe so growing your 300g prime buds will cost you at least 3k electricity, plus fertilizer and your work time." "Yes, the lights will run 20 hours a day and your ventilation never stops 24/7. The 250 watt light plus the desk fan and occilating one... should hit you with about 1000 rand a month, Eskom not expected to lower prices. Buying the material is the cheap part. Eskom overtakes your investment cost within a year. Counts for all tent sizes you can buy. Running them is the real pain. So you want to be as efficient as you can.. rest is just wasted cash"
  8. @PsyCLown Hey bud Thank you for the detailed response + pricing, this forum rocks man! if one goes for the 1.2 x 1.2 what would be the max plants one could fit in such a tent? Any difference between the mars hydro vs the mammoth? Which would be better? Lastly I would prefer a plug n play LED vs a DIY one. Been looking at the one at futurama for R5299 https://www.futurama.co.za/samsung-grow-light-lm301b-220w/
  9. @SkunkPharm WOW! Thanks dude! Sounds like solid advice.
  10. Hi Guys As I have mentioned I am a total Newbie and need some help. I am trying to determine what size tent one should get and what light will work with that tent. So if Im looking to grow 4 to max 6 plants indoors, then what size tent should I be looking at? And also what type of light, by this I dont mean HPS, LED etc, I have decided that if I do get a indoor setup then I will want to use LED. If I were to buy the indoor set up I would look at spending 10k. Your opinons are much appreciated!
  11. @Light It Up Hiya, Awesome to have you guys on board. 2 questions, will you guys be having any black Friday specials? AlsoI am a newbie so pardon the ignorance, the 240w light you have, how many plants can one have under that light? TIA
  12. Hi @Prom Thanks for taking the time to respond, Can you please provide a link to your diary, I would really love to read thru it.
  13. @Bakstein420 what did you think? Do you think this can be done in SA?

Hi guys, Just a quick update. So the Girl scout cookies seems to be catching up now, while the Super Lemon Haze seems to be doing very well. On a sad note one of the Girl scout cookies didn't make it. she just wouldn't grow and finally dried out and died. (Image one the SLH and image two is of the GSC) On that note, I decided to get another batch of seeds and on the recommendation of @Bakstein420 I went with sacred seeds. Thank you @Bakstein420! @Sacred Seeds, The service I got from Merlin and the team at sacred seeds was top class. I am very happy with the service and will reuse them again in the future. (PS: Thanks for all the freebies) I ordered some Durban poison as I really wanted a Sativa plant, this is a normal photo strain but I also ordered some autos as well. I will maybe start a grow diary for those seeds. Super excited by the DP, can't wait! Happy weekend everyone!
  16. This looks super awesome! Can I please attend classes to learn how to do this??? LOL! Looking Sweet man!
  17. Hola Amigo Como tu estas? Dimelo que le que hermano! Bienvenido!
  18. Hi guys, hope you are all well and safe. I'm sure most of you have watched Mr Canucks on you tube, a Canadian grower. This guys grows are unbelievable, "Plant Porn" at its best. I was just curious to know if anyone does anything similar to him? And how your results were. If no one is or has grown like this, please watch his vids and let me have your thoughts. Thanks guys! I will post a link below to his latest YouTube video.

@PsyCLown thanks for your feedback. I am using this meter, are you suggesting that I rather use the finger method of testing the soil for moisture?

@CreX Hi Bud Thanks for the reply, this really got me laughing : That would be me, Im a reall stress pot, hence I need pot so that I can have clarity of thought.(KIDDING WITH THE RHYMES) Been a newbie/first time grower, ja its hectic, hence I asked isnt there a "university" that one can attend, LOL! About watering, I do have a moisture meter and it reads the soil as been wet hence I was afraid to give water....(Bought one from builders warehouse, so a cheapy, but seems to work fine) This is so true: Again Thank You!

Hi guys A quick update and a few questions. Please see below pics. So the 2 Girl scout cookies were planted on the 29 October 2020, it took a few days of waiting but no leaves appeared. I had noticed "something" on the top part of the plant, so discussed with @Stinger96 and he said to me its the remnants from the stuff inside the seed and that I should gently remove it. I applied some distil water to the plant ,used a sterile needle and gently removed this dried out film that was stuck to the plants. Its been 2 or 3 days later but still no sign of the true leaves with the cotyledons looking like they have a brownish discolouration. Should I be concerned? Is there still hope? Or shuld I pull them out and start all over again? (I think I should have let the tap roots grow longer before planting the seeds, I planted as soon as I saw the tap roots coming thru the seed). I ask these questions as these are Autos, and from my understanding of things, you should not stress out the seedling or even the plant as autos have a predetermined life cycle and don't have time to recover from stressors. Also the Super Lemon Haze has developed a "dog ear" on the one leave and seems a bit stretchy....should I be concerned??? I am moving the plants inside at night as we do have some cold nights at times, so during the day in the sun, well the Lemon haze is in direct sun but not the Girl scout cookies, they are getting partial sun. I have as of this morning started using our emergency light, its those LED lights that one can buy at games for like R199. (Pic attached) It can only shine on one plant.I read on the RQS website that at this stage 4000 to 7000 lux should be sufficient. I downloaded a free phtometer and measured the light intensity to determine distance, this cheap light actually works in as far as the lux needed. Lastly at this point in the growth cycle how much of watering do you guys suggest? Thank you in advance for your responses.

Based on the above response it seems like I will have to invest into buying a pH pen...futurama has one at around R900 I think. Its a Hm pH pen Link: https://www.futurama.co.za/hm-digital-ph80-ph-meter/ Any thoughts on this pH meter?

Hi @Bakstein420 Thanks for the reply and advice, as you can see one of the roots looks good, the other one is still trying to come out of the husk, im thinking of planting the one tomorrow and then leaving the other to get a little bit longer, maybe another day or so. How long does one wait to see if the other seeds will pop?
