  1. Ay so it's you who iv been seeing this thing ey??

Looks like it works, but most weed seedlings will outgrow that space in a few weeks😜

Although, wouldn't mind getting a cacti or 3 under that, or use it as a seed starter and move it out when it's bigger.

What this kinda thing go for man?

  2. I was gifted some Haifa a while back and it took a bit of time to figure out how it works... Hell I'm still figuring it out.

The feeding schedule that came from Haifa was not bad, when mixed the ec measurements weren't very high and I had initial success.

A few months down the line though, and I ran into trouble with weird problems and a mate came over with his fancy blue lab prong meters and established that my pH was on point... But my ec was through the roof!! The slurry tests I was doing were yielding inaccurate results compared to the prong meters.

From then I halved the dose of the feed and the results have been great again... Better than the results I had initially using the standard feed.

Haifa And microbes go hand in hand though, don't forget about those mycos either!

Sweet and fruity with hints of Skittles sweets, and very loud. Not earthy or spicy at all. A couple grams left in a bakkie on a warm day will make that bakkie smell like a dispensary. After a cure it is a very smooth smoke.

gotta give us a grow report on her then 😛

Fun fact, if you run a commercial cannabis farm in Australia, nobody in the entire company, including the janitors or even cultivators, are allowed to consume any cannabis whatsoever.

Austrailia : you, hey you...you over there with the passion... you want your dream job? grow all the cannabis your heart can muster?
Me: hell yea thats great! whats the catch?
Austrailia: You cant ever have cannabis again......
Me: .......... well miss me out on that trip sucker!!

This is why Australia is not the greatest country in the world

  5. nice work man!

a temperature regulated clone space is really ideal for faster cloning. very cool.

i have tinkered with those strip lights before, they arent very good for growing, but they do a great job at lighting the are, and giving the cuttings just enough light to do their things.

    10\10 from me bru!

@CreX I'm gona take a step back, to let you cool off. Infact I'll take many steps back, cz this clearly has two right answers.

I think your experience is giving you a little confirmation bias. You're not angry or emotional at me, it's the information that doesn't sit well with your seasoned experience, because I was just repeating the information given based on the study. 😀

contradicting myself is a little rich coming from you since you been saying the whole time that doing less and using less resources is a waste of time and money 🤣

c'mon man, I am not trying to offend you. but for real.... I use biobizz, when I have 10 plants in full flower, 4 in 20L pots get getting 2L every 2 days, and 6 plants in 60L pots outdoor that gets 3L every day. over a week of 7 days that's 150L of water every week. right? Giving biobizz bloom nute in late flower 4ml/L = 600ml of biobizz bloom every week. doing that for 2 weeks when I could have saved 1.2L of fucking biobizz bloom? how do you know what financial state I am in that that should be negligible??? are you kidding me? you're just gona randomly assuming EVERYONE has money to waste? and you know the bigger the scale operation the bigger the waste. soooooo?????

I might be OK in that regard, because I am small scale with an allright cashflow, but the one thing I don't have to waste is time. I am not even doing everything I wana do and I don't have time to waste, don't know bout you.?

bro.... not trying to be funny, but what's up? you can't be this offended by this topic alone?

where are my priorities? fuuuuck me, have you smoked my weed? don't think you wana cause you'd probably not like it cause I flush mine 😅😅😅

I reuse my soil and sometimes the ppm in the medium is still too high for seedlings or small cuttings after two weeks of clean water. where is this wasting that I am doing? I actually have to add perlite and peat to the rich medium to reduce the organic matter for younger plants and keep them in separate small pots. you make it sound like I am throwing nutes away when actually I am just not giving any more...

you get very argumentative on many subjects in many topics dude, im not just going to let you steam roll everyone with your bias to flushing.

brother brother brother, take a step back real quick.

if flushing doesn't change anything this clearly means keeping feeding doesn't change anything either. you get that right? knife cuts both ways right? look at the other side of it.

so, if keeping giving nutes doesn't improve on anything, why give it? it's a total waste of money and time and not bro science at all. actually it's simple general 1+1=2 type stuff.

    there is no debate, mate.

you take a step back man - you are contradicting the shit you are trying to defend. to the point that you are ignoring the videos words saying the best smoke from the blind test was the 0 day flush, and the worst was any of the others that had a flush, all just to save a bit of time and a bit of dirt cheap nutes?  where are your priorities man? great smoke, or shortcuts to your time consuming hobby?

i literally just said i reuse my medium, so its not a waste for me because any left over nutes just go to the next plants.... i absolutely save more money than most people by reusing my meduims...way more than a few lame tips would save me..... 1+1=2 type stuff

if i was throwing away my medium, then maybe ill think about starving my plants a little before harvest. you know...so i can put it toward the next 300l of meduim i buy.

in the pursuit of truth, when you're calling someones work and actual science people have done in labs with machines and advanced technologies that cost lots of money and time a "100% bro science" just means you looking for an argument, which I believe you are not doing?

Dude - the video you posted straight up abolishes the necessity of flushing, and then he sums up a few lame time saving tips and minor nute saving tips. of which the time saved and nutes saved over the period of 5 years would still be negligible. the okes with all the equipment and advanced tech and money pretty much pointed out with great detail how little a difference it makes to the final product... in other words, its total bro science that it makes any difference.

so help me understand how it is a waste when you're saving on nutrients because you don't have to give them because the plant doesn't want more AND you don't have to mix them?

seeing as i reuse my medium, the "waste" would just go into the next cycle for the next set of plants to uptake. i also need to feed my plants very regularly, regardless of phase of veg or flower, so i would just not be saving any time on that watering front.

with this statement it is safe to say you agree that plants naturally stop using nutes towards the end, right?

no, this is not what i am saying at all - a plant fading because its hungry, vs a plant fading due to it reaching the end of its biological clock are completely different.

i feed my plants right up until harvest day for the reason i mentioned above, as well as because the plants i grow fade by themselves giving me a really good idea for when they are ready - some plants take a much longer time to naturally fade than others.
Consider outdoor plants and how they flower and then fade - how would you explain that then? because most outdoor plants get plain water the whole way through its life...

Not arguing... well i am a little bit... but im just trying to elaborate on my experience without flushing and the success i have had, and am just trying to get the point across that flushing is absolutely unnecessary for a great yeild, and the factors around harsh smoke black ash and taste is largely dependent on the way the herb is cured

  9. in my opinion - flushing is a waste of time and energy. 100% bro science

i have not flushed my totes in years, and further to that, i have not even tilled my totes in months and have only been growing better and better meds every run.

If you have a healthy meduim with the correct amount of nutes, your plant will obviously be healthy too. you wont have burnt tips, no deficiencies or toxicities and buds that will continue growing until harvest day.

If you want to reduce harshness in your buds you need to improve your drying and curing skills, as well as feed less toward the end of flower so the plant can naturally fade while it finishes up - flushing does not induce a fade, it will induce deficiencies that look like a fade.

    image.png.6118e26dda47ec8732c21757b44f1c9b.png

the only time you should flush your meduim is when you have trouble with a toxicity, where the flush will aid in removing excess nutes.

if you have been feeding moderately then you will not run into toxicity issues.

reuse your meduim, innoculate with microbes and fungi... the proof is in the pudding!

Dope. Getting my hands on a Platinum Punch cut soon. Dudes tunes that the yield is underwhelming though and is probably gonna drop it from his garden. Was the frostiest plant of the year though.

Will stay tuned for the weigh in:)

that seems to be the general consensus... small nugs, underwhelming yeild.

but my fuck is it frosty and the terps are mind melting!! it really is a tough decision to drop it from the garden...

subsequent crosses with the plat punch seem to bring the frost through as well as larger nugs, so keep an eye out for Plat punch crosses as they are generally fire

though we have all come across some lunatic trying to sell weed for R250/g they claim god himself grew with his own shit as fertilizer or something. to those guys we don't pay much attention though

LOL I hear you man!! I have only met one dealer who lived up to the expectation of what R250 weed is in the minds of most...

the rest have shocked me with what goes for 150!!

thank goodness we switched years a go to home grown 😁

I have a question if you don't mind. If you had to reuse your soil would you reammend with the same amendments and ratios or different ones?

i have found that this takes a bit of practice and trial and error.

i reuse my coco in the totes, and i reammend with the talborne vita-flower and give a feed of a MKP additive because i noticed that my plants suffer potassuim deficiencies in early veg.

maybe have a control pot with your reused soil and see where it lacks... then you can reammend it with the right stuff .

ofcoarse this is a time consuming process

  13. here is why your plants are flowering a bit earlier. first you have to know that different strains of weed will flower even if the 12\12 light schedule is not observed.

some strains can start flowering with 14-15 hours of light and less dark. typically, the rule is to induce flowering, you need a solid 8 hours of darkness to flower, which leaves as much as 16 hours of light for some strains in extreame cases!!

now lets look at the sun guide for south africa, Sun guide , straight away you can see that november has enough darkness to induce flowering, with the best time to start flowering is in March.

if you can erect an outdoor light, can be very low watts, then you can trick your plant to then its still full veg time and then when you take the light away in march, you will grow indoor quality outdoor... or what they are calling Greendoor of late.

this should also clear up the misconception of a semi auto realizing the fact that some photo period plants can flower in seemingly veg conditions.

there are 3 types of cannabis

Photo periods - these require a change in the lighting conditions to start flowering - this is 100% controllable

Autos - these will flower when they are ready and no amount of different light schedule changes will trigger a flowering response which is built in to the plants biological clock

Ruderalis - this is the plant that is mixed into a photo period plant to make an auto, this plant does not produce significant yeild at all and its only value is to pass along the Auto gene to plants that actually do yeild well,

there is no such thing as a semi auto, it either requires a change in ligh cycle to flower, or it does not.

As for the sativa question... here in sunny south africa, we cant really complain about the weather we have outdoors, and in saying that, if you have a great season with plenty sunny days and minimum overcast or rainy days, the chances are very high that the outdoor plant will not only finish a week or so faster, but will also grow much larger buds than the indoor clone. the sun is so powerful and us indoor growers often take its raw power for granted.

Might as well remove the meter seeing as its only there as an indication of the dimming (and by inference, the PPFD)

i have my meters outside my tent, and they have become an indicator as to weather the tent is on or not because i dont always want to open the tent to see whats up!!

This has saved me a few times already
