  1. All the autos I've grown so far have been from Dutch Passion and I have a few more to grow it.
I'll be popping 2 more strains most likely over the next 2 / 3 weeks.

I'm growing them as fillers in my veg area while waiting for my flowering plants to finish up.

I'm leaning towards the Euforia and Brooklyn Sunrise. I'll most likely grow out 2 of each strain and spray one with STS for more seeds of each strain. 44aeaa7768fd8e39ac6ee22acb04e817.jpg

Nice stash man. What's the yield like, you grow them in what medium

  2. So from my limited experience, auto's seem to be rather "unstable" in the sense that you can get a few seeds from the same pack and they will start to flower at different times and this will affect the final size of the plant and therefore the yield.
You do not have as much room for error either, stunting the plant will lower your yield.

So do not expect a lot of consistency among the autoflowers, this will obviously differ from strain to strain and breeder to breeder.
Nothing needs to be done differently with autoflowers in DWC. The main difference with autoflowers is that they will flower based on time, so you have no say with regards to when they will flower.

Yields will vary from strain to strain and also depending on how well you do at looking after them - as mentioned stunting them will lower yield.
Typically the strains which take longer to flower, will grow a bit larger and therefore be able to yield higher. As to which will veg for longer and yield more would come down to strain, not really breeder specific.

I have grown Dutch Passion auto's without much issue, Mephisto apparently has some decent autoflowers and many others. Get a few and start growing them.
Thanks for always bring that wisdom.

  3. Good day Florists

I have a question or few.

I am planning to move to DWC as soon as I harvest my first indoor soil grow.

So my plan is to get a second light 400w HPs in my 3x 3m room. I have a 400w in there at the moment .

I want to grow auto because I don't want to split my room , as I can't afford that yet. I can buy a second light and set up my DWC and get a some good genetics.

    Question is

What are the yields on autos and is the difference in genetics in autos. Do you get ones that yield heavy and grow longer? Like XXL or Fastbuds. ?

Are autos grown differently in DWC

I am not looking for a quick turn around. Just looking at being able to grow a few plants with out worrying about light schedule.

Any and all advice would be appreciated!.

  4. when i first looked into this, i found on another forum, the dude was getting about 800ppm with a yeast reactor, like mine & a little co2 bomb using lemon juice & bicarb. but anyways, i'll stop using them soon, i saw that gthydro has CO2 tabs that you drop some water & voila.
you only really need to add about 3-400ppm to your air, but thats if you saturating the air in the space. the way i see it, CO2 is much heavier than air, & if you could see it, it would run out of the pipe like a stream from a tap, over your plants, so its more direct, i may be wrong,  but thats how i've been looking at it. I'm sure you would hit 7-800ppm in like a 1x1m tent with this, if you do the maths, it pumps out about 360ml of CO2 in an hour, & i've defs seen a huge improvement by adding them to my room.
your aquarium version, you were trying to saturate water not air. the second bottle is there to filter out the alcohol, which will fuck up your plants over night.
@Za Weed Lover i would try it if i were you, costs nothing & it can only benefit your plants
    That's true enough

  5. Yeah, 400W for veg and 400W for flower - sounds decent.

Just remember heat with HPS is going to be higher, so ensure you are able to keep things cool during summer. Otherwise consider LED if you need to purchase more lights, will help with heat a bit as well as electricity usage - also no need to swap bulbs.
What would be an equivalent for a 400w hps. Don't know much about LEDs and seems to be a bit out there.
    Budget friendly 2

  6. Well, 400W of what type of lighting? 400W of HPS, 400W CFL and 400W LED are all very different things.

Also "400W" of LED can be misleading at times. Not uncommon to see "1200W" LED fixtures which only give between 120W - 250W. Also what is the size of your grow area?
How many plants do you want to grow etc?
I have a 400w HPS and going to add another 400w hoping to eventually use it for a veg/clone room.
Planning on doing 4 plants with longer veg cycle.

  7. @Za Weed Lover no reason you cannot use it for a full grow.
When you switch to flower, you change your res and your nutes and obviously light cycle.

You will certainly want to invest in a good quality PH meter and have a good EC / PPM meter too.
Alright thanks, what does EC mean. And why PPM so important

  8. There we go, project cost R50 more than expected.. But I feel a lot more comfortable with this setup d7cbe8a0d7932f184038dbec72c3ecc4.jpg42858f5da9db73c5677961c9dfc4d9a2.jpg

    Hi

Could I use the for a full grow?.
Dwc, is something I want to get into.

  9. So CO2 allows the plant to make use of more light, that is how it works.
It can also be useful as it can help reduce pest issues as they generally need air and co2 will cause them to suffocate.

In order for CO2 to be cost effective, the room needs to be able to fully seal so the CO2 does not escape. I think this is where most people struggle if you are on a budget - which most of us are. If the room is fully sealed then you could easily end up with heat issues due to no extraction of warm air (even from LED's, in a tent it can make a difference for sure).

Also you need certain equipment for CO2 which locally can be rather expensive. A couple of thousands.
I have never given it a try, currently not very set on trying CO2 although that may change sometime in the future. Will have to see.
So I am planning on adding another 400w to my grow. It's just because I want to start growing 420 fast buds strains.
    Would that be over kill?

  10. That's true . Can't afford to seal my room up, that's where I get my O2 from. No way I can afford this at the moment

Thank you for this . Will save it .

  11. Almost definitely not IMO. I think for it to work effectively you need high CO2 a well sealed tent with all the humidity & heat control as @PsyCLown and @CreX were saying. I'm pretty much in the same space as you goal wise, and I certainly would not worry about that. Get the basics right, no need to over-complicate things .  E.g. I'm going to be doing shorter veg cycles as I don't need large quantities, so faster cycles work better. I'd say keep it simple, and tailor to what you want

  12. Thanks all, really appreciate the response.
Now my question is, do I really need it. I growing because cannabis is been a constant thing in my life and love it .
I dont really smoke with others, I am a dad . Grow my own to smoke my own.
All I want is the best for me.
Would you say it's more suited for larger operations?

  13. Good day Grows

I hear you can hey up to 20% more yield, if you introduce Co2 in your grow space.

That's true, what experiences have you had .

  14. This is what my setup look like and currently inadvertently week 3 of flower . Question for the older growers. 15. Thanks for the help, did finally setup my indoor grow. 5 weeks in and just filped to flower. Bag seeds. Using Screen of green. Feeding compost tea, kelp and grown in super soil.

  16. Thanks for the heads up . Haven't build it yet and could make it smaller.  So you saying one  would work? It being smaller, would that affect yields. What would it be like? Don't need to make it that big but want as much light as I can get .

Also I want to grow as organically as possible. Can it be done through compost tea and sprout tea?

Looking for the cheapest way. So a chemical reaction?

    Would get premix   .

  17. PHello Canna Fam.

Here looking for advice, 1st time indoor grower. Have experience with outdoors.

I want to set up a grow room that is 2m by 2m. With about 6 to 8 plants in there or can I put more.  Not too small.

The question is , how much do I need? Looking at buying HPS 600W. Would one cover for all stages of growing?

Also I want to feed organically? What experience has those who have tried it, gotten?

How does one generate CO2 ,cheaply?
