  1. This is the first time I am using the cups and I don't remove the plants from the paper cups they get transplanted cups and all. What I can say is that the roots are very dense in all of my pots, well at least the top layer, as I struggle to get my finger in there to feel if she's moist.
  2. Having some issues with DP (1). Firstly, something is eating the veins of the leaflets and secondly leaves are turning yellow and edges and some spots are browning. Removing 3 to 4 dead fan leaves every second day. Feeding 2ml grow and not in flower phase. Auto amnesia (1) starting to show some nice buds DP (2) showed some pistils a week or so ago Auto Amnesia (2) started flowering 12 days ago, now at day 29. Topped her at day 17, hoping it was only pre flowers showing, wanted to do a scrog, but as she continued flowering I left her be Haven't done any further training with the Purple Bud.
  3. Really hoping these are pre-flowers on the auto amnesia (2) as she is only 17days old!!
  4. Another week has passed with strong wind and high temperature, plants not looking too much affected. Plants going strong, Durban Poison (2) started showing signs of flowering. Started feeding Amnesia auto (2) with some bloom, 1ml bloom / 1ml grow (almost two weeks into flowering today)
  5. Would be nice to have a hyperlink to each of the products which are part of the prize.
  6. Can't take credit for the insta transplant cups, read it somewhere on the Auto Flower Network, will post link. Yeah, these fabric pots makes tying down very easy.
  7. Looks like your soil needs some aeration, adding perlite to the mix will help. Or maybe better yet, if you are not up to mixing your own soil, get some Freedom Farms Premium mix and transplant her. Also remember that outdoor plants are going into flowering mode, so I would make the adjustments/transplant as soon as possible.
  8. Thanks It is easy to get carried away, forgetting that the sun is not stationary. What is your feel regarding tying down vs scrog net for outdoor plants? Want to train the Auto amnesia seedling and thinking a scrog will be easier to maintain, I will not be clearing growth under screen.
  9. Removed a few more leaves from the Purple Bud. Some more tying down to let lower branches reach the almost even canopy, getting ready for flowering.
  10. Photos has not shown sex yet, but growth has slowed down a bit, growing in Cape Town. Purple Bud - Day 44 Durban Poison (1) - Day 43 Durban Poison (2) - Day 40 Amnesia auto (1) - Day 38 Amnesia auto (2) - Day 07 All of them will be left outdoors to flower. I am also sure that these will be harvested before winter rains come. Had to water every day this week due to high heat and wind, usually every second day. Below are some pictures of how I am currently transplanting. I have used this method with all of these 5 plants and seems to be working great, unfortunately nothing to compare with to see if it restricts potential. I usually wait until I see 3 or 4 roots coming out of each opening before transplanting.
  11. At almost 5 weeks, Amnesia (1) is showing signs of flowering. Even though she was knocked out of her cup and stunted for about 10 days, she is already bigger than my first auto grow. Hopefully I can do this strain more justice with the other Amnesia seedling.
  12. Regular vodka is half water, which means you would need to boil a lot longer to reduce it to oil. Haven't checked lately, but my local Tops sold Royal vodka which is 96% ABV last year. For Cape Town members I can get you 99.5% ethanol from Merck for about R1.1K (ex VAT) for 2.5L. Limited monthly supply.
  13. Sorry to hear! Thought this was only an European thing. Definately not advocating this, but knowing myself I would have just cut away the problem area and continue as per normal, like what you do with cheese and bread. (Although the bread you would probably want to toast first) Do not even consider if you are not healthy. We ingest millions - dare I say billions ? - of spores daily and all types of death causing organisms.
  14. A lot of debate around this, but I am with the side saying you can do the same with auto's as with photo's, all about timing. I am on my second auto grow currently and the insta-transplant cups work great. There were no transplant stress and she is looking lovely.
  15. Thanks, trying to improve with each grow! I think the biggest problem in my first grow was not enough root development and too much TLC. When I harvested those auto's, the 20l pots were barely filled halfway. Trying the insta-transplant method now and it looks as if it is working great, easy to transplant and zero stress from what I could tell. I knocked over the first Amnesia and development was halted for about 10days in seedling stage. This is why I decided on planting another one to compare with.
  16. Removed a few fan leaves, exposing lower branches.
  17. Harvested the rest of the critical ogre last week and the onyx today. My guess is the total dry weight for each to be around 10 - 15g. I will give the a propper weigh in once onyx goes into the jars. Not a high yield but I am satisfied with the results and knowledge gained during my first grow. These two auto's roots barely filled half of the pot, will from now on always start small and transplant when needed.
  18. Still going strong, no real issues so far. Still feeding 2ml grow, will increase to probably 2.5ml next week. Spraying Biogrow Phyta every second week together with a watering with envirinoc 401. Need to clear out some growth from the Purple Bud not recieving light. I did not really have a plan regarding topping and tying down, just trying to guide the branches to open spaces and keeping them low. I have to say, LST at first glance looks overwhelming, but it is relatively easy. The second Amnesia Auto XXL sprouted yesterday and will transplant her to a 20l fabric pot when the time comes.
  19. Amnesia Auto & Purple Bud from Cannasmith and DP from Trophyseeds.
  20. Thanks, yeah the DP (1) grew almost 20cm last week. Measured her yesterday at 55cm, week 4. Also busy soaking another Amnesia auto, will be planting her tonight.
  21. Some nice growth this week, started feeding 2ml grow today.
  22. Transplanted the amnesia to a 10l today. The rest of the plants are still growing strong, well apart from the leaf damage. Initially thought it was sun burn but starting to think it is a deficiency. Foliar sprayed with Phyta and fed 1ml/l Biogrow, 1ml/Biobloom with some Environoc. Purple bud starting to get dense, opened her up a bit today.
  23. Fed both with 3ml bloom and 1ml grow after I removed the main cola, rest will be plain water, a week or so left. Also, about twee weeks ago I saw this green bulge underneath the jiffy pellet netting, removed the netting and it looks like a branch. The roots are quite shallow after the soil dropped a few centimeters during the grow. If I remove a few millimeters I can see the roots.
  24. Sprayed them with pyrol in the evening last week and looks like they didn't like it to much, looks like sunburn? Apart from the burnt leaves they are all looking good, even the amnesia decided to join the party! I also topped the Purple Bud 3 days ago. Purple Bud - Day 19 Durban Poison (1) - Day 18 Durban Poison (2) - Day 15 Amnesia - Day 13
