Sounds lekker man, Ethos has some nice gear.

Feel free to start a "Line up" thread in the "Whats in your stable" section of the group, there you can showcase your motherplants if u wanted too.

As the thread grows it will be easy to go see the LineUp threads of growers for those sharing cuts.

Ok so sadly, these are not so much stable as they were Ethos clones from cannaclone. To be 100% honest, I was only impressed with Ethos Crescendo but I didnt manage to save a cutting from her 😞

Currently flowering Forbidden skittles (inside)and Sweetz insanity (outside) - will take some cuttings to save if they should impress.

I want to pheno hunt the correct way, much like what @1000Hills Nursery is doing on his thread, but baby steps.Seems my ez cloner is working now that i added a water heater!

  2. Great Idea! I have Ethos Forbidden skittles and Ethos Wedding Cake clones going atm.The wedding cake is a bit sweet for me,but she kicks nicely.I prefer something with a little bit of sour/spice or diesel to cut that sweetness.

The f-skittles is around 4 weeks away from harvest, but the clones already have roots. She also smells very sweet 🙂

    Clone transporters (6 pack around R50-60)  - https://www.google.com/search?q=clone+transporters  😉

  3. Nice clone setup, mind sharing your misting and temp setup? I'd have on and off success with cloning, recently build a small bucket cloner in the hopes that I wouldnt have to mist to get cloning 🙂 as I think thats where im going wrong.

  4. Thought we could have a place to drop info about new genetics, especially those that hit our shores first so to speak.

I've noticed that some of the LA strains are very strong visually and have strong effects but sometimes they only grow in clusters on the plant.Anyone know what type of cross causes this?

  5. So, its their own brand and breeders.Im very keen to see your results.

Pls let us know when you receive your order as Im keen to give their genetics a go -  been burnt with empty promises of delivery by another supplier recently...

  6. I see a few incomplete threads on here , was looking to draw some inspiration lol.

Purpose : grow in summer mainly
Space  - around 3x2 / 3x3 / 2x5 m - the size depends on how much sun hits,I dont want to build a huge one that only gets 50% sunlight.

Materials : strong, we get winds of 80km/h - 100 here, that are enough to snap branches clean off(ask me i know)
    Budget : 5k neg

https://easygreenhouses.co.za/combos (Larney ones-too much for me but look solid)

    The winner is :
    3m Greenhouse Tunnel

    3m long x 2m wide x 2m high

R4080 (inclusive of VAT and delivery) by oaktreegreensystems.

But you get what you pay for, steel poles, roll up doors.Minimal reinforcement, and it doesnt look great.

So now the Build options :

Im thinking wood and plastic roof sheeting instead of plastic netting.Something along the lines for this for panels :

Drew inspiration from this video : https://youtu.be/sQWPnaiixe0?t=900 - but Im not attaching this to my house,I could use a wall or not use a wall at all.

    Will add more later,so tired.

Edit : I intend to build something like this, but with white panels at the bottom rather then silver.

  7. The very first search on google returns its by Barneys Farm.Im guessing you didnt ask them if the seeds come in original breeder packages? There are around 900 reviews on growdiaries.com on that strain. Also search leafly.com , thats the biggest db of strains and parents.

But what is suspect is the price of those seeds, example b n b has it for way more, https://www.biltongandbudz.co.za/product/purple-punch-fem-autoflower-2/.I would suggest mailing them and asking what i mentioned before.

Maybe someone else can comment on CapeApSeeds?

Someone posted on cannabisclubsa a while ago that they are not sure if the seeds they got from there were fake or real. I’m not sure which they ordered from. 2 strains in one pack and strain names written in. No sealed barcode either.

Dude, that is a bad fake. Why go through all the trouble of producing a box and then writing with a marker on it?

  9. Amazingly healthy roots you got yourself there!

Im still trying to find stable genetics for my garden, did randoms in 2018,but in 2019 I have some Ethos Sweet Insanity ,F skittles and Wedding Cake going atm, so keen to see how they stack compared, and which I can keep going and which needs to go.

  10. For me, because im not a soil expert and I dont have the time and space to do soil tea etc, i thought I rather FULL ASS synthetic nutes then HALF ASS organic nutes lol

I made peace with the fact that my synthetic plants need a flush once every 2 weeks aswell to flush out extra nutes. You can see nute salts easily on top of the coco.

As for your last paragraph, I cant answer that. They was a guy on here that had immense knowledge of soil microbes, cant remember his name.

If someone told you to stay away from doing this - its the safest answer. Its not correct and there are many factors influencing this but its a safe answer. 😉

  11. I have always used some sort of chemical salt fertilizer on my outside plants and on my inside coco and hydro setups.I have tried organic but the inherent issue when faced with organics is that you dont know when the ferts will break down and be available and also the different elements that make up N P K values wash out at different rates, so how do you effectively top-up and control this ?

I have to say that I have grown "organically only" speaking, and the flavoru and smell was much better than with chemical only grows. This makes sense because I added a variety of organics that eventually when broken down contribute to the terp profile of the plant in some way.Im no expert so that may be way off 🙂

I stick to chemical nutes because of simplicity sakes, you measure your water ,throw in nutes, stick in a EC/TDS meter, adjust ph, then you are done.Different plants have different nutrient requirements and I find you can really push a plants limit and sometimes you have to because inside grows are costly and you may be chasing an effective g/watt.

At the end of the day, you either feed the plant nutrients directly (Synthetic) or you feed the microbes in the living soil that break down and then makes nutrients available to your plant(Organic).

The downside of combining the two methods is that your chemicals could alter/kill microbes in the living soil.I have done experiments many times when switching out an organic plant for nutes and the plant gets stunted for about 2 weeks before resuming growth.I guess its up to the type of synthetic fert you use and its manufacturing process that determines how it affects soil microbes.

Shame man, this poster is out here asking questions about growing and needs advice, and the guys are up in here fighting.

I understand rules are rules, there are always 3 sides to a story, nobody is 100% correct, we make mistakes and we move forward.

    Make peace, not war.

Woah, what did I miss here>?I was helping him out.

Those 2 fans were both intakes, there was a bigger fan on top to exhaust. My problem was i had way too much foliage and no fan inside moving air over the leaves.

Ah I see.I personally only use exhaust fans and never active intake. But I use one meant for a bathroom so its very powerful lol

Probably massive overkill then for veg! Im only planning between 2-4 plants tbh.. dont want to try and grow too much while im still learning. what exactly are the requirements for the flowering stage? And why wouldnt these T5s work, along with a 75W LED?

Cool, 3 plants is probably good then. The light intensity from floros just dont give buds enough light to develop size and density. You can grow with any light by the buds will be light and fluffy. We all started with some form of cfl/floros and then moved on when we saw the benefits of other lights. This is a good starting setup to gain knowledge, then you can expand your equipment when you have experience etc.

A tote does not offer much space. I managed to grow 1 auto in a double stack tote but lost all my main colas to bud rot.

    A very rewarding experience nonetheless...

Those intakes and exhaust look about level with one another, its hard to tell, but I always extract out the top and my intake is at the bottom opposite corner to maximise the airflow over the plant 🙂

If I plant the photo fems now, when can I expect it to flower?

If you plant photos outside now, they will start flowering immediately, so its not a good idea from seed.

So i went through my garage and found a crap load of T5 lights.

Not counting the blue lights + acitinics etc, i can probably put together about 16 high output  T5 globes which are a mixture of cool white, warm white and daylight (A total of around 750W)

Would these lights be sufficient for indoor growing?

If that is what you have on hand then it will suffice for Veg only.

I took apart my t5 floros and replaced them with equivalent LED tubes.More efficient and puts out more light than floro.I only used a 18 w to veg mine in a 1.2x1.2 scrog, so 750w is probably overkill and I wouldnt use floros for flowering. How many plants you planning?
