Need to add that the humidity is hectic and the Sonof kicks in alot, lights on from 13:00 - 1:00 so with the fan running my lights of temps has gone done to 15 a few nights.
I now reajust the humidity just before I go to sleep and then again when lights come on.
Also moved lights on from 12:00 - 13:00 and will do that once a week till I get to 18:00 to kick in. So ones a week they have a 13 hr dark cycle and 11 light on cycle, let's hope it works out

Hey@Dank, I don't have neem meal but did a guick Google a few weeks ago and it is availible but very expensive and small quantities.
It's my second run in this soil so it's not hot, only feed a little of this and that and feed microbes, they will sort the plants out

Here we are 14 days into flower today
Plants got one Microbe and one Fire Juice feed and the rest just water. Stretch was about 13cm so far and my limited light height problem might work out to be not a big problem.
Girls look happy so I'm happy.

Hello, just checking if it's the FF Premium Classic (green bag) or the craft soil, Premium is fine I plant rooted clones in it they looooove it but the Craft soil might be to much for a young seedling. On this point. How safe would it be directly planting a seedling that size into FF Soil? As it does have compost and some organic nutrients in? Any chance of burning the baby?
Also can FF be resused? I can imagine at least once, perhaps if you cut a male soon and flush the soil it can be used once more? This is my first run wioth FF as well and I am just wondering for future reference.

Hi, when I battled with temp there is small things you can do
1. Hot air mostly higher than cold so il take air in from a higher point outside the grow room and feed it in at the bottom of the grow area.
2. Exhaust hot air out to the bottom of the room your grows space is in.
3. If you duckting can run against each other and you can wrap them together with cardboard or anything for insulation then the hotten ducting helps a little to heat up the intake ducting, obviously you want them not close to each other on the outside ends.
4. Heater can be outside of grow erea where the intake is in some kind of box or just facing the intake.
Little diy that helps with a degree or 3.
Hope this inspires you

Hi, if your grow space runs on the higher side with the temps do 18-6 or 19-7 for the nights will be cool for a few months. In summer I flower during the night because day temps to high and light on pushes it higher

Lekker topic!!
According to other growers I spend to much, but according to me I'm not
I read up ALOT before I started buying and I have build up experience through the years with various different project that Eazi or cheap ends up being more expensive.
Soo I saved and saved till I could afford QB's, then I made a small loan to get a proper growing inviorment going and all the hyped up synthetic bottled nutes to grow in coco/perlite and I'm not dishing it. I set the bar low and got the results I wanted. Did a few of those grows and got fed up with the the time spending mixing nutes properly, mixing then ph then wait the adjusting and then so on.
Hooked up with a a member here for exchanging clones and he was growing in Living soil ( I thought everything was alive anyway) so I read and read and did research and ended up buying proper soil ( cost R-20-40 more than FF Classic) and did a few full grows with only water and Fire Juice, by this time I raised the bar a little and I got desired results.
I am in the prosess of making my own compost for end of year or next year and then I can start mixing and see how that goes.
Lights are paid of and still in good condition and I have dailed my grows in to achieve minimum of 1,1g/w and 450g/sq/m. Its not high but I'm happy for now. Soooo spending R300-350 per 25L pot per 90-110g plant is not alot for me, spending way less time watering also.
Yeah so a proper start up can cost alot but worth it after some time. Read read read and ask questions, even dum questions

You guys recon a slow defol can be done from no, won't it shock plants so early in flower

Totally agree, with the Aquaponics I placed a 50mm pipe 60cm into my fish pond and let it stick out 5cm then with the return flow a 25mm pipe dropped the water into the 50mm and pushed airbubbles down and they can't escape to the sides, each time a bubble came up it gets pushdown, the end result at the bottom was a very high DO count.
OLOBAMA GARDENS with Glen Martinez and Nataly Cash has nice YouTube clips on DIY, loved there theories and ideas.....who needs a water pump to move water
Sent from my F5321 using Tapatalk -
I drilled the small holes into the 25mm only where it is inside the 50mm, creating finer bubbles that airates the water more

Hi, airlift is amazing concept.
I tried a proto tipe yesterday that's way smaller than the one I used in my Aquaponics system.
50mm T piece and 25mm pipe with tiny holes, 50mm-25mm reducers on all 3 holes. Airpump is 300L/hr = 5L/Min, not enough but it worked fine for now

Whoohoo here we are 1 week into flower, girls got some Fire Juice, microbial feeding and Molasses. Humidity is sky heigh due to the canopy leaves surface??
Usually I defoliate from day 15-21, any greener have experience with defoliating slowly from day 7, need to get humidity down?

Comparisons is Awsome, it helps all the followers to see how what soil performs and so you contribute to building up knowledgeHey @GGG,
Thanks for the reply bro
I have been so excited, looking through a few of the forums and seeing how knowledgeable and friendly everyone has been.
So awesome to be apart of the community here
I will totally look into the FF Custom Crafted soil as well.
Might try doing 1 pot with this to try and do some sort of comparisons or maybe I am thinking to big now, baby steps, 1 grow at a time. All the soils is price wise in the same ballpark.

Welcome home@BluntKnifeHey Growers,
I am almost ready to start my first official grow diary, but needing a little guidance on soil and nutrients as well as the best places to get hold of the stuff.
I am in Durban, to give you an idea of temp/humidity and location.
I have just ordered some Feminized seeds from Biltong and Buds.
The plan is, to have 4 plants growing in about 20 - 30l pots outdoor.
Mediums
I am planning on using FF Organic Classic Soil (Is this still a decent mix, or should I rather be looking for something different? Any Suggestions here?)
Nutrients
I have seen a lot of people talking BioBuzz products. What would you suggest for an outdoor grow and is it really necessary?
Pesticides
To be honest, haven't done much research on pesticides. What would you suggest and is it really necessary preparing for worst case scenarios or is it better to wait and see what nature throws at me?
My goal here is to grow some dank buds without needing to dig too deep into the wallet.
However, I am willing to purchase the necessary ingredients to make the end result, top quality
Hopefully above average to be honest, lots of guys here that is masters with outdoors ( I'm not yet), mostly indoors and also want to do outdoors this year and the time to prepair is now.
With my indoor experience I just use the FF Classic in early veg because as is there is not alot of nutes in that mix. I now use FF Custom Craft mix and that works well just with water for the whole plant cycle. Some guys have experience here with Classic and Biobizz so let's wait for them.
Living soils you can buy that don't need alot to be added
FF Custom crafted
Just Cannibis
Orgasoil Mix
Organics Matters
Then I think 40L is a good size pot for outdoors as you don't have to water alot each day, 20L pot might need 2+ waterings a day when plant is big.

@StickyD420 , I like the simplicity of the Blumat and you need to consider a few things
1. Where to source your water from, do you want to use a pump like@PsyCLown or strait onto a tap or gravity, reservoir should then be atleast 1m above soil level. I don't have height or space and my 25L reservoir is just above 50cm from soil and I top it up every second day.
2. Size of pot to determine Blumat carrot size- my totes are 45cm deep and the short carrot didn't work as I wanted, bottom of tote was to wet, so I replaced with the Maxi. If you have a normal 25-30 cm deep pot the normal one fine.
3. Drippers - Depending on gravity or not you can put 3-6 drippers per Blumat even more if you do pump or tap, I'm doing 3/Blumat this run.
I just run clean water through it and when I want to to add SST or anything I feed manually by hand .
With the Digital Moisture Meyer from them I'm able to dail it in the way I want it but you don't need it as such.

How many drippers do you have per Blumat carrot? So I added a pump so I don't need to worry about gravity.
I want to look into something which will spread the water better.

@PapaSpliff, Jamie's garden shop sells a amend bag. You add 10-30 ml to 1L of used soil. It's basically soil without the coco/perlite.
Sometimes we complicate things to much also, nature knows HER way.
There are realy nice Living soils availible ready to use if you need to start growing and you don't have time for experimenting now, or do a side by side with mixing your own and buying soil
