Too true, sadly free shirts, food parcels and empty promises go a long way when most of the population is leaded by false uneducated corrupt leaders. On a positive note, I met this dude, Garith from 501 Genetics at the east coast cannabis cup a couple months ago. He was one of the breeder vendors. Very interesting character, knows alot about cannabis, and as soon as Thailand changed the laws, he left to plant seeds. I think he is definitely one of the breeders to watch not just here but worldwide. Cheers to the risk takers and trail blazers.

Things are heating up and the 2nd Garden Route Cannabis Expo is on its way. 6/7 August in Plettenberg Bay. If you think last year was a success, I have a sneaky feeling this year will be even better. There are loads of fringe parties taking places, craft markets, talks, shows and much more. Below is the video from last years event that was almost postponed due to COVID regulations. Juicyfields is an interesting topic, they found me somehow and started promoting them about 2 years ago through what I think was their headoffice in Germany. They tried to get me to get involved and resell their "grow for you service", but it just looked all dodge. They did give me some Tron coins, which I think are worthless currently. 

Anyway, business as usual for sunny south Africa and shady people. The Expo is in full swing.

I setup a “Potcast ” studio/ lounge in the Cannabis Hall to at the show to  stream interviews with the people and companies that attended. Here is the first published interview with the Cannabis Co and below is the 2nd published interview with Green Smoke Room Seeds partner Dave Tait. 

Ray interviews Sharn Stead, a partner from The Cannabis Co, at the 2022 Bathurst Agricultural Show, held in Bathurst Eastern Cape. 

Dave Tait, a partner at Greensmokeroomseeds.com, was recently interviewed by Ray at the 2022 Bathurst Agricultural Show. Dave showcased GSR products and service offerings during the 3 day event and took some to talk about the history of GreenSmokeRoom and the GreenGrowRoom, and where they are heading. He also speaks of landraces and his favorite strains. One of the main sponsors for the 2020 - 2022 Bathurst Show.

Best advice would be not take that first injection of indoor dagga, you will spend the rest of your life growing and smoking herb and wanting to take long walks on the beach. Grow chillies or something. 

I will give you the answer to minimum requirements at the bottom of this post. I just started growing indoors a couple weeks ago for the first time in over 10 years again. I swore I would never do it again and then a butterfly flew past. I asked about a year ago what a basic indoor setup would be, I think it was mentioned a budget of 10K. 

@SkunkPharm, those are the real minimum requirements, but there are monthly costs and unforseen costs. Last night for example my budget was blown out the roof, need a pH/EC meter, an airpump, some peroxide and a unit that cleans the air ( ionizer ?? ) , it was even mentioned an air conditioner would be good ( FT aircon and eskom ) . Further to that we needing more rockwool, gladwrap, batteries and the list is like a bottomless pit of money. So my final answer for minimum requirements is balls of steel and a bank balance to match for growing indoors. 

And they have done it again, great work Bertie and even better to come through such a distance and support the Agri Show, that is what cannabis community is about. Love these people.

Congrats @Totemic, well done for giving it a shot. I am sorry to hear about the closure of Totemic, a brand I never tried growing but really enjoyed following and seeing its growth plus the smoke. Wishing you the best for your new ventures.

cops show up at my house saying it smells like weed, I keep my mouth shut and wait for them to say something else. If that's all it is, I tell them thanks and go back in my house.

FOGFA have a print out you can keep next to your door for basic rights, wish I could find it. We were talking about this recently and experienced it once or twice. Funny enough cops do listen if you are polite, experienced it myself a couple times. Be careful out there, cops are a law unto themselves and can change your life in a matter of minutes, regardless of the law or draft law.

This will help in so many ways, buy hemp, buy weed from Cannapax, grow more than 8 plants. Ovagrow the system they trying to control. 

 

That is what is great about stepping outside ones home and seeing for oneself. I think GOA has about 24 "licensed" coffee shops now, all according to them within the legal framework. Now that is not coming from a stoner but an expensive lawyer who speaks latin and a big briefcase. 

Cannapax, dont hang with people who purchased the cheapest franchise in South African history by R175K. The interesting people who went with Cannapax ( trail blazers ) and navigated the murky waters with them, did not talk crap wanting the owner of cannapax 20 years jail time, developed the strategy, never gave up and running a successful social club, hats off to you. You are what the industry needs.

@Totemic, you were in the competition. I sampled the bud that someone entered of yours. There were about 50-60 flower strains entered. Loved meeting the main man from praxis glass, loved watching him blow glass, and I finally met the owner of zadankness, spotted him in the crowd and cornered him. A seriously awesome event, lots of action, smoking and fun. More importantly it was well attended from far and wide. See you next year.  

Lank amped for this time next week. I will be enjoying spending the following 3 days with cool people, cannabis brands, festivities, walks, cannabis, smoking, toking and jammin at the East Coast Cannabis Cup.

SAPO - last time I used them my shirt from USA arrived 6 months later. Previous to that it took them 3/4 months to deliver an arrival slip. So all in all service got better. Alibaba I bought a water pump and received a necklance. Gave up on them both.

An awesome, wet and wild cannabis event happened at the Agricultural show over the past weekend. It was lit as shit, the way I like it. It rained throughout the event, nevertheless we had a full house. Loads of laughs, lost my voice, and mind. Bigger things next year. Below are some pictures and will publish some videos of the cannabis companies that supported us. For the floating "cannabis cup" trophy, the lineup was

3rd place - Black valley Kush by ripper seeds.

Have the final poster designed for next week, off to the printers. 

The sign outside the hall will be no under 18's or conservative minds welcome. What I am really interested in seeing is the reaction of the K9 dog unit that will be in attendance. They doing a demonstration about 40 metres in front of the hall. All in all, one of the selling points of the hall was the interest of the last couple years of dagga at the show, the society said its bringing the younger generation in so they are keen. 

For the first time since COVID hit us, the Agricultural Show will be firing up again. 

Glad to say within 2 weeks time, Cannabis will be making its debut at the oldest Agriculture Show in South Africa, the Bathurst Agricultural Show.

I have arranged a dedicated cannabis hall where the vendors below will be selling their cannabis products. We also have a cannabis plant category so people can enter their plants for judging and a certificate.

What would an event be without music, The Survivals Reggae Band will be playing on the Saturday night from 6pm and also organised a new band, Renaegades to play to. The Survivals will be heading to the New York State fair at the end of August, so my friends in the USA will also be enjoying some homegrown South African reggae.

Looking forward to the weekend of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of April.
