    Week 3

    Airpot = Talliman (Oni)

Fabric pots = Terple (In house)

Current state of the Clones - They do need some love, plan is to spend time with them tomorrow❤

@PsyCLown can see what you mean now about these in house needing training. Some of the branches are spreading out quite wide and drooping already, without bud 🤦‍♂️

Will see what I can salvage otherwise just gonna snip the outliers away.

Didn't get to the goal of +1m, which is maybe not a bad thing considering I didn't train. So next grow will be vegged longer and trained harder haha

Howzit. From my experience, by topping once at the main stem then another top on the first node from both off shoots, the result is a sturdy, bushy plant with 4 fat, main colas and some medium/large secondary colas. Anything more will enhance budsites but reduce bud size. This is from my experience though so feel free to experiment yourself✌️

Howzit, yoh that looks solid @Weskush, inspired and sad I didn't freaking top after your guys advice. It's too late for these ladies, but I have 2 smaller ladies - OG Cheese and Wedding Cake currently vegging. Will try your method on them, let the experimenting begin - Well in a couple weeks 😁

I would def top them or scrog them , usually the lower budsites turn out to be popcorn buds. I top and scrog together it ups my yield .

    Thanks for the advice @GGG🙏🏼

Definitely need to also up my game on the scrog. I have a net, but haven't ever got it right. Life got busy, and I freaking neglected the forum now I'm gonna have to pay the price of lower yield.

Flipped to flower it's been almost 3 weeks.

You can't go wrong to take some guidance from @PsyCLown

That man knows his shit and is always willing to help, guide and share.

Depending on whether you want a bush (topped plant) or a Christmas tree (untopped plant) it's up to you.

By topping you will definitely increase budsites, level out the canopy and increase yield.

Good luck on your grow man.

Thanks for the tips and comment @John Stonedwell , should've popped back into the forum sooner. I flipped to flower and hadn't topped at all - So now I'm just gonna have to do the Xmas tree this time around.

Need to top next time for sure...

They're growing nicely! I feel training is certainly needed on a lot of the in house strains as they get very stretchy.
Yield will be affected negatively I feel without proper training to try keep the canopy flatish.

    Thanks man🙏🏼

The level of care given to these ladies were definitely impacted by starting this diary - Thanks for the motivation@PsyCLown 😁

I've seen some of your in house beauties (wpw) on the forum, so appreciate the advice. Will revisit your grow diaries for sure, double check which methods you've used🙌🏽

Nice and healthy looking , are you going to top them to get more budsites ?

Thanks bud🙏🏼, honestly haven't thought that far ahead.

Usually I do some LST, & try to spread the canopy mainly because I was using a smaller tent. This grow, I want to get them to 1meter or so and see what happens.

Would you suggest topping this case?

They still in veg and grew a little more since Tuesday, will probly flip them tomorrow😁

hey man, that seems pretty cool. everyday we have a new service or product in the local cannabis market!

I feel this one is for the guys with a lot of limitations and a excess of cash.

If you're not really all that into learning how to have good success rates with your germination methods and you got $ laying around, this will really help. but I feel in most situations it will be better to pop your own seeds, even if you suck at it, it's a good time to learn something new.

especially with that price tag. if you wana pop a 5 pack you gotta pay R100 for each seed, that means R500 just to pop 5 seeds for me? DAMN 🤯

    Hey bud!

Hahahahah, for sure. The services, products and methods I'm learning about for the first time on the forum are way more than I could've imagined.

Honestly, I agree with you 100%. I've screwed up more seeds during germination than I can count on both hands.

And since have got allot better at it, learning from each f-up. Now, I'm close to 100% sure when a seed doesn't germ its the seed not the method. As a fail safe, I usually pop around 4 at a time making it easy to spot the difference.

Maybe good option for anyone wanting to dip their feet for the first time, afraid about the risk or put off by horror stories/experience of a shitty first experience🤷🏻‍♂️

Who knows, maybe this is just the beginning, then more banks see what you saying about the mad price tag, start adopting and we start seeing more reasonable rates or bundles 😁

    Either way, some fun thoughts.

Shot for the response man 🙌🏽

  8. High 420 Buds😁

Been reading a couple threads on this awesome forum last night, about fellow 420 SA buds having issues with germinating seeds from different seed banks. All experiences different, growers saying failed germination is the banks responsibility,  banks saying its the growers etc. Varying levels of customer service from banks , some growers happy, some not so much.

Fortuitously, received this email from GSR this morning, coincidence or was this just the universe (GSR) trying to mess with my head after last night bedtime reading...

So, enough said. Here's the link.

    https://greensmokeroomseeds.com/Germination

I think this is freaking amazeballs, and possibly resolves all that back and forth on who's onus failed bean popping is.

Anyone else know of other banks doing this, what do you guys think?

  9. Know this is an old thread, but my 2c on bud buddies. I tried them a couple weeks back. Haven't popped any beans yet.

But received all genetics in sealed breeders packs. They did make a mistake on my order, the Dinachem was meant to come with 1 free bean and which wasn't included.

Contacted them via their site + email, and they replied, apologized and couriered me a 3 pack of Kera Seeds.

So pre-popping, no complaints and happy with their customer service.

I have tried Jack Herer and Trainwreck for a good upper day smoke.  The Jack Herer seems to be one of the best Sativa's I have smoked in a while. The high was clear and uplifting that made me want to go and work. The Trainwreck was also really good but I prefer the high from the Jack Herer.

Does anyone have any other suggestions for a good day time smoke that wont make you miff or tired.  I have also heard Chocolope is good but have not tired that strain yet.

Awesome topic @SpicedGold, thanks for starting it!

I'm on a similar mission hahaha. Had a crazy good upper experience with a random strain that basically grew on its own outside - Some of my plants hermied at the time, self pollinated and gifted me a couple of fems outdoor.

It was imho a proper uplifting clear high. But like @PsyCLown said , could very well be when i harvested (wasn't paying much attention at the time) or like @Naughty.Psychonaut mentioned the luck of the pheno I got.

Since, I've bought into the hype of the effect possibly being Sativa dominant strain and got some "high" sativa hybrids going. Green Crack, Blue Dream (garden of green) and Lemon AK (fastbuds 420).

Can't share the experience yet, but will do over the next 3-7 weeks.

FYI - You got me tempted to get that freaking Jack Herer now, thanks allot 😂😂

  11. 22.8.2021 - Update: One week later

Ladies have had their first foliar spray (Nutriplex/Nutrigold) earlier today.

Removed a couple of the lower leaves and small growth on some of them - It was too close to the medium, they looked healthy enough to take it so I went ahead.

Tally Man seems to be getting there slow but surely, just not popping green like the terples in person. Positive is new growth showing up, so will keep on taking it slow n steady with the feeding.

Otherwise, 1 week down and so far so good😁 Now, jhst gotta hope it stays that way🤞🏼

excited to see what you do with them and how they turn out brother 😁

bound to be something good from what I've heard!

    Thanks @Naughty.Psychonaut

Knowing you heard good things, you getting me more excited about this grow😁

First clones, so proper dunno what to expect.

The Terples are settling in very well in their new home, looking perky, bright & green almost plastic - I love it!

The Tally Man seems to be a bit slower to adapt, not looking as happy as the terples. Guessing it's possibly due to the airpot vs material grow bags - Faster moisture loss OR the genetics🤷🏻‍♂️

So i went ahead and did another diluted feed last night. Will see of anythings changed this eve 🤞🏼

  14. High 420Buds,

So I've never done a grow diary before or even a personal one for that matter 😂

    So bear with me...

I joined the discussion in the clone topic and the seed was planted by a fellow member to make a diary using clones I purchased from GSR.

So, I received them on Saturday 14th August, and I must compliment the bank on their excellent customer service. Their communication throughout the purchasing process and advice was great catering to a proper newbie + amateur home grower.

Enough talk, here they are as packaged 14 Aug 21. 😁

    Clones (genetics):

    3 X Terple (In House)

1 X Tally Man (Oni Seed)

Nice, welcome to the forum and good luck! Growing cuttings is very similar to growing from seed, just they're a bit bigger and rooted already.

Let us know how it goes and perhaps start a grow diary once you get your cuttings? 😄

    Thanks man!

Sounds almost too good to be true, but cancels out when buying clones coz you're never 100% sure what you're getting. See why I'm into this topic😂

Will let fellow 420 buds know for sure about the experience!

Might be good for me to do a grow diary, push me to take better care of the ladies. I have been known to be a neglectful dad in the past 😁

  16. Didn't realize this was such a hot topic now. Thanks for starting the conversation. Some good points raised.

Recently, I was seed hunting on our local online banks and surprisingly found some "New" (not sure if this is new for all or just new to me 🤷🏻‍♂️) added clones,  on a trusted local bank's site - GSR seeds.

Like Psyclown mentioned, purchasing a pack of in house easily breaks the bank. So I decided to order a couple of clones from them this week. It takes 1 - 2 weeks to get delivered.

Never having grown from clone before, Im looking forward to getting my hands on them and sharing the experience in the not so distant future😁

  17. Hi guys,  been on and off the forum for a while. It's about time to say High🙌🏽

Tried a couple random grows using known genetics from some of the locally loved banks. With varied results because i Wasn't doing basics like environment control and of course drying in jozi climate is mostly too dry haha. I was just happy with the idea of my own home grown.

Stopped for a while but recently had some fun convos with my og grow bud and fellow 420 buddies and... boom, ended up back at the entrance of that rabbit hole with no end, loving it!

Early days, a couple Ks down the hole and one word to describe my vibes - Hooked😁

Looking forward to growing with the community - 1 Love
