  1. Cool will see if I can find some flat plastic rack or something, not about to start lifting the tent:P

Is the purpose to  keep the roots warm? I run my lights at night, not during the day.

  2. Plants are finally bouncing back after their bout of what I believe was a combination of : Nutrient lockout, calmag def. I flushed with 5.8 ph water and calmag, they're getting to the stage of their final transplant so waiting for gthydro to get stock of the FF soil and will be moving them into 20-40L pots have not decided yet.

On a side note I added one gorilla zkittle and saw that its sprouted its tap root this morning so i'll be potting it later today.

Maintaining proper pH is always important.  pH pens do the exact same job as pH strips or drops, they are precise tho and give you a reading down to 2 decimal places.

When it comes to sensitive scientific equipment, price will impact on materials and build quality. Investing in a reputable brand is worth it, as they have great customer support and accurate equipment. Try Hanna, Bluelab, Eutech etc.

Yes thanks I already bought a HM yesterday:)

Strips and liquid are useless . If you want to check your ph use a proper digital ph pen , you get what you pay for as well so get a good quality one. If you growing organically dont waste your money , a ph meter is not needed

I prefer to adjust my water, I use regular tap water and it tastes like i been sucking on a lime stone. i.e. its alkaline as hell.

That being said I do hear what your'e saying regarding the pen vs liquids.

  5. So can anyone advise on which they prefer pen/strips/liquid. I tripped last night in the dark and somehow managed to throw my pen in the air, knocked against the wall, did a double backflip into a bucket of water. So its fucked. Now it was a cheap garbage 200R job. Now i find myself on the market for a new one, I really don't feel like forking out 900R for a new pen, I could get another 300R job, but am wondering if anyone has just tried those standard pool test kits for a rough range on their ph.

  6. Tested the water run off this morning (fed some clean water), and it ran around 5.8-6.1 respectively for all plants so a median of roughly 6 I'd say. Is this an acceptable range for freedom farm seed mix ? I'm thinking the biogrow is not the best for the coco medium and might switch to their fishmix.

My money is on nitrogen or magnesium deficiency. Give her a good feeding, say around 900ppm, should sort her out.

Just fed them all 2ml/L of biogrow in PH 6.4 water, TDS is broken at the moment so hopefully that'll help at least.

  8. Help needed in diagnosing the yellow edges of the leaves, also noticed that some are slightly crispy, they're pretty far from the light, using freedom farms seedling mix transplanted a week ago or so, started on a very mild dose of biogrow.  I'm leaning towards nitrogen deficiency.
