  1. Okay, was thinking the label refers to Hydro use only

Peroxide breaks down pretty fast when it begins to oxidize, but I would not risk making a strong mix only to come back and find you've just got stems left over lol.

  2. You can have it at home, on your person and in your car without issue. What you are not able to do is use it in your car while driving on a public road.

The judgement all revolves around privacy and not particularly weed itself.

So basically to answer you in short, yes you can travel with it.

I myself will be flying to JHB mid month and shall be packing some in my hand luggage.

Will be interesting to see the dogs going beserk at the airport :P

  3. Looking amazing balls brother.

Thanks, they starting to smell already so going to start making a plan to get my filter installed. It already hits me when I open the tent, not hard but you can definitely smell something is cooking in the tent lol.

  4. This went south so quick, forgot to bring seedling tray in after watering and taking pic, peat dried up and 'sprout' was blown out the container. Picked her up on the floor, not looking impressed. She's back in now, let's see if she makes it. The cheese made it, but to be honest, the source is not that reliable, so it could be anything.

Anyway, using a 600x1200 Gthydro tent (yes, I've had to fix the zips) running 400w MH/HPS and 9000BTU AC. Nothing too fancy, but it gets the job done nicely. Would love to get myself another tent for perpetual growing...

Does your tent have plastic corners or metal? I've got the 2.4x1.2 and the zip seems pretty decent on that one, also it has the metal corners I think they were confused and gave me that one, when I asked them as I bought it they said it was plastic, imagine my face when they were metal :D

  5. I'm super impressed, keen to see what a flat out QB grow will deliver as I'm currently running QB and Cobs simultaneously. I however dim the cobs right down in veg.

Those two panels are running at 300 watts each at the moment. I've got dimmers just need to wire them up.

  6. Do they stock those full spectrum chips? Those look like white chips. Here is maybe an idea... I bought a local 200W LED spotlight (2 x 100w chips) just ordered myself another 2 full spectrum chips, they're about R80 each on ebay. According to lux meter, they push out about the same as my 400w hid at 5cm from chip, but the spread is not great.

    Epiled :'(

Rather buy from a legitimate source : https://www.digikey.co.za/products/en/optoelectronics/led-lighting-cobs-engines-modules/111

  7. Great looking setup. Interested to see what you can put out

Im busy starting to look into LED myself for veg. Theres a local chinese shop near me, the place is huge, and they sell a whole bunch of LED lights. None of which I know will be well suited for growing. In one aisle there are these boards that kinda look Qb board related but I know fuckall about LED setups so I could be completely wrong. Are these boards usable? They're about a meter long

Unfortunately its almost impossible to tell what diodes those are. Those are snappable sections from the looks of it, so I'd imagine the heat tolerance's would not be great. If i had to guess i'd assume those are either epileds or epistar both equally shit I'm afraid.

Your best bet would be to buy direct from DigiKey for the specific diodes and colour temperature you want and get the driver. If you need assistance choosing the strips and drivers drop me a PM.

  8. I'd very much appreciate a breakdown when you have the time.

Cool will send you the figures later. These kits are pretty heavy, a dual 800 board has an accompanying 600H mean well driver. In total its around 23KG shipping weight :P A single 800 board is around 13KG with a 320H mean well driver. My boards are running off of two 600H and one 320H driver, both have dimming functionality.

  9. Can't wait too see what those quantum boards do.

Postie vibes seems like you have loads of experience

I say quantum boards but they're from China, but they have legit LM561C S6 top bin diodes (3500K) (confirmed with microscope)

The picture obviously doesn't show the true brightness of it.

I will be adding deep and far red when I have some spare cash for Emerson effect.

May I ask which vendor you used on ailibaba? Also how much did you pay in duties percentage wise?

    How long did delivery take?

Are you happy with the built quality?

Sorry for all the questions but thanks in advance

There are a few vendors, I got mine from Meiju, some people have had bad luck and got lower bin diodes like LM561 B, its a minor efficacy drop. Delivery took about a week with TNT,  build quality is 100% nothing wrong with them. My one order I paid 1K in duties my second order I paid 2K. They adjust the invoice to half the value of it. (the most expensive part of these lights was the shipping). I can PM you an entire break down if you'd like later today.

I built a frame a while ago and mounted them and worried it was too heavy, now i've determined its fine so i'll be remounting the panels against the frame as seen in the one pic.

  10. So I didn't read all the posts, but here is some input. As previously pointed out, if they are not dying don't stress too much, it just means that changes need to be made. You can grow almost any strain in straight potting soul without any issues. Don't over think it. Currently running about 10% perlite, 40% peat and 50% Garden Master potting soil (flushed not boiled). Next grow I'll run hydro again, still much easier once you have the hang of it IMHO

Exactly this people tend to over complicate this, trying to find a supreme balance with PH and nutrients. I only start worrying about those factors once the plant is established otherwise I just feed it straight tap water, let the top of the soil dry out (which happens relatively fast in my grow area due to my fans). I'm using the freedom farms mix at the moment, was slightly skeptical about it but it seems to be doing very well and my chilies like it as well.

YourStonedBuddy[/member] - My rule of thumb regarding nutrients is, only start feeding when you can actually see visible signs that they're lacking something. I know people will not agree with me on this, but I do that with all different plants I grow and I've never had issues. Otherwise you will get basically what happened to the sugar rose pic.

  11. Whats good everyone!

I spent the weekend upgrading my space to optimize my next grow. I went down to Starke Ayres and bought some netting for R99/m and installed it into my space nicely

    oNYzYw0.jpg

My space is 1.5m high x 1m wide x 0.5m deep, i have a feeling im cutting it abit tight scroging two plants in my space but we'lll see how that goes!

I selected two indica dominant strains as i much prefer a heavy couch-lock when medicating :)

Sugar Black Rose from Delicious seeds & Gorilla Glue #4 x White Widow from Expert Seeds:-puffin

    OjzzXG8.jpg

The GG#4xWW sprouted this morning 17/09/18, patiently waiting for the SBR to join the party.

    Grow details:

    50/50 premium coco/perlite mix

    2 x 60W Quantum boards 3000k

EGH nutes, calmag from Greenhouse powder & liquid Silicon from GrowGuru

One plant will be in a 3gal fabric pot from GrowGuru and the other in a 1.5gal

If you really want to optimize that grow space I'd suggest you get some reflective metal. While white generally does bounce photons, true reflective material will ensure that you waste as little as possible in terms of energy.

  13. Evening GreenKush how ya doing, so jump in friend. Tell us abit your set up lights and such and get stuck in looks like you off to a cracking start already...

Grow area is 240x120x205, currently running the seedlings under a 320 quantum board, once plants are bigger size they'll be running under 1520 watts worth of quantum boards.  Running two 6" fans for active intake and will connect a carbon filter when required. I will also be supplementing c02 with a regulator.  Will post some pics later this weekend, redoing my light fixture and installing some new acoustic ducting.
